Brilliant thread as I've just sorn'd mine for the winter. Don't forget to tell your insurance your not using it, mine is now temporarily on fire, theft and accidental damage and its dropped from £45 per month to £5 a month. My intention is to take the front off to powder coat the cross member etc, so won't have battery on to turn it over. Is it a problem if I don't?

Beam is ready for blasting again and powder coating, took some time but it should look like new when done. Last drive in the car before winter hibernation tomorrow I think.

I would pay the price for that Corrado, as ive said before, I paid a lot more then that for mine with similar mileage. There was no evidence of mine ever having bushes etc but its been through MOT and they've not commented on any potential wear to any. If it came up last year when I was looking I would have been there in a flash!

And the RS's.....

I just bought a new Gearknob from vw, it was about £36. My old one which was perfect, just gone shiney over the years is on eBay at the moment.
-
Cheers, the rear beam is taking some time as I only get some of my dinners to do it in. Going to get the ends of the roll bar capped as I dont think powder coating will get in there and its a corrosion point.

Hi Dave, yep they are identical to my old wheels but my other ones had started to go under the lacquer near the tyre valves. These are the perfect ones from Gareths car (OSV). I spotted your car a mile off this morning, its got loads of road presence and looked pretty clean to me.

To celebrate my laptop working again, I thought I would put some pictures up of my corrado wearing its new wheels

Still here, might be open to near offers?

If I had an airlock would my heater get really hot in the car? Is the only sensor for the light in the expansion tank? Wasn't sure if there was another sensor anywhere.
-
My light has started flashing sometimes. Sometimes it's from cold startup other times it Akers a while. Plenty of water in the tank and temp gauge works fine. About a thousand miles ago I had the water changed at vw during a service and a new header tank fitted. Can the sensor in the header tank be changed or is it part of it?

I'm not expecting any great sounds. At the moment there is some components up front and a sub in the boot all run from a couple of alpine retro v12 amps. So taking this out and going back standard is a big change but needs must!

Thanks, I knew I'd seen it somewhere. Not sure of the colour but my Sony standard cassette player that came with the car has orange illumination. I know they don't sound brilliant but it's the look of standard I want to keep but with the function of cd.
-
I read somewhere that this was a model that would have been available for my Corrado in 1995. Anybody know if this is correct? I intend to replace my alpine period cassette player and autochanger when I strip all the I.C.E out of the corrado and this gives me CD without the need to refit the orignal sony cassette player and autochanger.

Sold! Thanks to all those interested.

Hi, would prefer collection really, not the easiest or lightest things. Pictures emailed.

Sometimes get mice in the loft, don't want to risk them being eaten!
-
Thanks Jim, didnt know what they were worth really. Bill, I thought of that but they are sat in the room taking up space and my misses wants the bedroom decorating etc, If I put them in the garage they will get mouldy!! No plans to sell the car either.

After a year of sitting in our spare room I think I need to get rid of my Corrado front seats. They were taken out and replaced with the recaros and dont think I will go back standard so now for sale. They are black leather and in perfect condition as they have only done about 30 - 40k. Pictures can be emailed as I'm still having difficulty with internet at home. £120 and would prefer collection from Hull Chris

It really is as close to new as you could get.
-
Thanks Bill, tried Goldie but no reply, anyway, now with pics

Right so here you go, new wheels: Started to clean up the rear beam prior to powder coating, I'm grinding any sharp objects that may cause a weekness to the coating and also want to smooth any of the pitting. And just a photo from a recent classic car event, just cos I really like the picture.

I'll probably have the calliper paint from you if I sell the Corrado script Kip. Is this what you did yours with? -
I am selling my rear Corrado script badge, it is chrome / brushed finish and is in almost perfect finish. Slight fading on the corner of one of the R's and the the end of the O. Only slight though. Unfortunately I can't post pictures as my laptop won't connect but can email to anyone interested. I'm after £50 plus postage. Chris
