thoughts on 911 996 replacing my corrado
ChrisL replied to captainredeye's topic in General Car Chat
I have often thought of the same idea and servicing really isnt as expensive as you think. Personally, I would save a little more and look towards the 997 That will be the car that will eventually replace my VR -
I might have a pair of OEM ones in the garage going spare. Can check them out if you want? If the plating is worn I am getting some more stuff replanted soon. Just checked and one of the nylon collars is split. The other is intact but just looks a bit tired!

These are mine:

Thanks Dave.

Stand by earlier suggestion, these set up correctly with the right dish, rolled arches etc would look the nuts!! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?79283-RH-ZW1-split-rims-17x8-5-quot See http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?32999-blackberry-vr-17-quot-rs199-s/page4 Or CH's http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?32999-blackberry-vr-17-quot-rs199-s/page12 I'd loose the 90mm spoiler for a nice set of wheels.

Bump please

Pictures of bit in question The plastic bit is right next to my thumb in this picture: It's on the part that the handbrake cable goes through.
-
Will post a picture shortly thanks.
-
thanks James, hows best to remove the seal? it looks to have a metal ring inside. On the back of my caliper where the handbrake lever is, there is another metal plate that is held on by a single socket screw. This plate has a plastic part that acts like a stopper for the lever. Oh, and I got the piston out by pumping the handbrake lever, is this OK??
-
Ive broken a little plastic stopper which is fastened to a bracket on the back of the rear brake caliper. Dont suppose anyone has an old scrap caliper please?
-
First Ive managed to break the little plastic stopper for the handbrake lever, does anyone have a scrap caliper or can you buy these? Also, how do you get the main seal out of the calipers please? finally, does the handbrake lever on the caliper at the back come off please? I want to strip the caliper down for shot blasting, painting etc.

Not convinced with the RX's, really liking the CH's at the moment and also still like the ZW1's Seats look spot on by the way!!
-
Brilliant work! Didn't think you could still get the power steering bottle.
-
Really nice job, love the classic green storms and looks great on those wheels.
-
Going to swap it when I've finished the rear, didn't fancy stripping the front after I'd just rebuilt it!
-
Small update, got some bits back from the platers, this is just a small selection from all the bolts, clips etc

Yep, I'll have it thanks. Can sort the cost with the exhaust if you want? -
VR6 Crank sensor, Early Nearside Door Trim (outer one)
ChrisL replied to KIPVW's topic in Parts for Sale
Hi Kip, do you still have the caliper paint? -
Thanks Kip! The skin over the middle box is pretty good and just rusted around where the pipes go in and out.
-
Are they in good condition on the bolsters?
-
Selling my VR6 exhaust, cat back. It has 3 boxes in total and is in 1 piece at the moment. The front box looks good as does the back box. The only bad bit is the middle box which looks to have a second skin over the main bit and this is flaking a bit where the pipes go in and out (if that makes sense). No holes in it though. Assume this to be genuine as it has VW logos on the boxes. £30 Prefer collection as i think it's a bit big to courier. Chris
