  1. new belt, power steering fluid and copper washers picked up from VW yesterday so started putting the front back together this morning. Got to wait a couple of weeks for the cooling fan 'v' belt to arrive so this will be about right for the front parts from powdercoaters. Also ordered new bushes, cooling fan rings and various bolts etc to assemble the front. Quite pleased with how its going anyway: Also, quick picture of the new rear box:
  2. Christmas has come early: Only problem being is I cant open the boxes until Tuesday :-(
  3. Was hoping to get this little lot powder coated before everywhere closes for Christmas but my mate took a little longer then expected shot blasting. pleased with the finish, hardly any rust pitting on it at all really so shouldnt take much sanding. Oh, and my exhaust is now in the UK, hoping it will be delivered Monday.
  4. Give me a shout Matt, we'll shove the bikes in the car and head to dalby.
  5. He's changed the advert because it said it was a storm with special order black leather. so its not you, he's been an ar*e.
  6. Wow, I used to have those on my BMW 318i back in the mid 90's!!! great look....
  7. You could buy it Andy but I guess there would be nothing for you to do on it.
  8. http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/corrado/volkswagen-corrado-vr6-storm--superb-throughout/969286 'Special order' black leather... Must be special order de-storm badged too.
  9. Cheers, Im desparate to start the back as my exhaust comes soon but looks like I wont get the stuff to powder coaters till after Christmas.
  10. The bracket that holds the power steering pipe and a few cables was looking a bit rough so made a new stainless one at work: also cleaned a bit more of the bay, before: and after: Finally, been cleaning the gearbox, starter motor and some of the cables etc: Just waiting for parts from the blasters so I can smooth pitting and powder coat then start the assembly. How would I know if the front engine mount needed replacing?
  11. Well done James, plenty of paint then plenty to rub back if you need too.
  12. Just get my standard one looking like new!
  13. I'm cleaning up my engine bay and wondered if anyone has done anything with the cooling fan. I'd buy a new one but at £300 they are a bit steep and dont think painting it silver will look good. Wondered if they can be split and the case re-plated or something????
  14. My standard VR6 exhaust will be coming off shortly when I fit my Supersprint system. Think its in pretty good condition if your not in a rush?
  15. works on my Laptop but not on the Ipad
  16. Exhaust was ordered from C and R, worked out roughly the same price as direct from italy. Wanted one for ages now and since they started the stainless centre box and also stopping making the connecting pipe, now seemed a good time. The outers from the rear bushes are pre-cut and just pop out, keeps them clean from powder coat. I also welded a cap over the ends of the tube part of the torsion bar to try and make it a bit cleaner from the ends.
  17. All coming out through the back window!!! Thanks!! update your thread with some pics then please. I've gone for the full cat back system, the centre box is now available in stainless steel and they have stopped doing the straight bit of pipe but managed to get one of the last ones apparently. Just waiting for the middle box to be made now but should be ready mid december.
  18. congratulations. I too had a double take with the naked women on the bus!!! Aston is a beaut!
  19. OK, here's a small clue... http://www.supersprint.com/en/prod-146-6345-vw_corrado_29_vr6.aspx and collected these from powdercoaters last Thursday: Front end parts now gone for shot blasting.
  20. Got to have at least 1 guess. Nope, but it's on the list. Imported yes, 2 parts stock but 1 piece to be made! Only in my dreams!
  21. Ordered my Christmas present yesterday and I can't wait!! Been after one for ages and will finish the car off nicely! Will arrive hopefully before Christmas.....
  22. Sounds like they are not self priming then. Thanks for the tipo with the syringe. How simple is itto get the engine mount bracket off the front of the block? it could bo with blasting and coating but looks covered in electrics and other stuff.
  23. Dont say that, i've seen how much new ones are!! Are they self priming? I might fill it before connecting the top hose. I was going to leave it but the big aluminium bracket was so mucky. Brilliant, I was hoping they were still available.
  24. had a good day on the car today, radiator, alternator, belt tensioner, power steering pump and bracket, air box, crossmember etc off. so the car now sits like this: What the hell am I doing!!!!!!! Took fans off the radiator cowl then the 2 plastic fan cowls, unfortunately most of the clips broke so not sure what to do there, can these still be bought new? Next job while the bits get shot blasted and coated is to get the alternator apart and spray the aluminium (got the pulley off already), clean the power steering pump and clean the wiring around the engine. Hope this goes back together....
