Don't Flame Me - seriously impressed by a Corolla Verso

Think is the 330D is from a "performance manufacturer" and usually has big wheels etc - what was so shocking about the Corolla Verso was that it looks so damned boring and plain - real wolf in sheeps clothing -
Typical top notch build quality but what really impressed me was the engine. The new 2.2 litre diesel engine - also going in the Lexus IS220 is absolutely awesome. Its incredibly quiet and refined and the power stats are pretty impressive - 175 bhp, 295 lb ft at 2000 rpm, makes it a genuinely nippy car, 0-60 in just over 8 seconds - all in a nondescript and practical family car

Dave16V used a late switch I had floating round to practice on - think its sitting at the bottom of a drawer - you can have it FOC if you need it - anything to help a fellow owner out

Only ask as theres a set of pods on E-Bay with these speakers fitted, looking for a set of the pods anyway so may make a bid on them

Anyone had Uniroyal Rainsports 195/50 x15 fitted recently, need two new ones. Always liked them and want to maintain identical tyres all round, usually use local tyre depot who give great service but not sure what the going rate is

Was in a VW site today and noticed that both new Polos in the showroom were wearing Kumho tyres - seems like VW are busy cutting costs

Height adjustment is exactly the same as with the standard lights - the early ones did not come with the adjusters pre-fitted so they may be missing, you just need the standard adjusters from a dealer

Ah yes, the one at Wayside Audi, have they opened their tuning division - Audi were going to use it as a test exercise to see if demand was there

I have exactly the opposite view - I think that the first thing that most people do when they buy a car is to spend money on it - both my G60's have had a fair number of owners. Condition and history are the only things that need to be considered.

They are certainly investing a huge amount of money in to training - spent somewhere in the region of £6M on their National Learning Centre in MK. Like all companies I suppose theres good and bad points - the big positive is that its a well known company and at the least would make it easier to move on after completion. From what I've seen there are opportunities for people who shine, there a lot of "tick boxers" in there at the moment and they are looking to improve the quality of all staff

I think the Passat repsonds well to some subtle tweaks. Wife has got the same wheels (18" though) on her Audi Cab, definitley a wheel that divides opinion, she knew the safer bet was a set of RS4's but she decided to take a risk

Like it - would look better in silver but its pretty subtle. Am I the only person who doesn't like the 20VT - yes it can produce a lot of power but ts rough and characterless - one of the main reason I sold my Leon Cupra was the nasty engine

If the lines are being installed at the Halewood plant it can't be more than 6-12 months away from being built

I've just had my rear wheel bearings done on my Aqua G60. When JMR went to press them into the disc he found that they just dropped in, if he had not insisted on fitting new rear discs the bearings would have probably worn out extremely quickly
