Id ask some of the guys who have already done this but i believe it is a plastic weld job and a bit of fibreglassing.

AFAIK to get to the nuts that secure the bumper you need to take the wheel arch liners out. Im not 100% on that mind...

AFAIK there are 2 power supplies to the head unit. One is for the memotry and one is for running the thing. Id swap these over as VWs are wired up the wrong way round. -
I cant see there being a major problem, you may be able to use your existing subframes which would make it straight forward.

Play it by ear then. Give the car a good looking over before you hand anything over!! If anyone you know is clued up on paintwork take them with you, 2 pairs of eyes will help!!

Id be swaying towards saying that maybe the battery is dodgy as its not holding its charge. May be worth trying another one or exchanging yours. When ive heard of things like this before its because the elctrolyte in the battery had had it.

Are you getting 0 volts out the battery or does it no have enough life in it to start the car??

Remove the rear disc and the bearing will be in there. You will need to get it knocked (or pressed) out and a new one pressed in. It is true that the bolts shouldnt be extremely tight but i wouldnt like to advise you how tight so ill leave that to someone more knowledgeable than myself. Worth considering also that depending on what side of the car your working on that the nut could have a left hand thread...

I think the black centres contrast really well against the colour of the car so i believe you should leave them be. Definitely agree with g-man that Gold is a no no. Gorgeous car OSV, if i were ever to change my wheels itd be for something like these as your car is the OEM+ look to the letter.

I think there may be a poly bushes that connect the linkages together. If they are worn then the gears will be lose. Its nothing to do with the gear box itself. Try asking at the dealers if there is a kit you can buy to replace them.

You dont mess about do you Jimmi?? Some great work being put in there, i wouldnt dare take anything on of that difficulty. The seats do look really smart!! If you ever fancy doing any more major work to other peoples cars (namely mine) in the future then i may have some business for you. -

Smoking?? On start up, all the time, what colour is the smoke, is it comming from the back end or underneathe the car?????

Thats a good effort!! I remember doing this to a set of XR2 Pepperpots many a year ago and being rather proud of them when id finished. They stayed good for ages!!
