  1. I might take you up on that Tony, very kind of you to offer, ill continue to investigate and get back to you.. Thanks to John for the instructions - confirm ive set got it set up correctly..
  2. No mate you crack on, may be asking some of those questions myself shortly and wanting to prove its function when it gets sold..
  3. Does the R32 sump sit any closer to the floor? Its an aluminium job so i cant imagine it being very happy if it touched the floor..
  4. The engine was warm when i oraly operated the flap (that sounds terrible).. It did need a good suck to get it move though, it didnt just fly around, i certainly wouldnt rule out that it is sticking.. No thoughts of being condascending, ive fitted the one way Vv so the direction of travel is away from the reservoir.. My only other idea is that the hoses are too long. Ive got the pot mounted under the air intake so have got the lines running round the back of the head just above the heat shield. I did think about moving it over but cant find a nice place with it out of the way..
  5. Thanks for the reply Kev, the flap does move, i put a piece of hose on it and gave it a suck (relax Toad) and it shifts.. The reservoir ive got was different to the 2 i saw on Sunday.. Im only using 1 of the points on the servo line and it is feeding into the reservoir (bottom with one way valve fitted). Ive got the top point from the reservoir feeding the solenoid (top connection) and then from there to flap actuator itself.. Does that sound right??
  6. Youd be best of painting some rear lights, reds were never made unfortunately.. Silver definitely is a sought after colour, lets see some piccies...
  7. What do you mean? Is it the length from wheel arch to far frint corner of the car your after??
  8. Following the RR day my Schrick isnt behaving as it should. I changed over the vacuum point after having a poke around Mark Storms engine bay but im still not convinced that everything is as it should be. It was a bit late last night so didnt really want to sit revving the car but the light does change colour at 4k but im not seeing flap movement. Sound difference at 4k whilst driving im not sure but the car pulls really really well.. Obviously if theres more to be had id quite like to free it up so... Could someone who has acces to Schrick fitting instructions by any chance send me a copy via pm or email if needed as mine are at home (330miles away) and theres no one who can send them down to me at the minute.. Also the following questions might help me along.. If the colour does change on the control box LED does that mean it is recieving the correct rev signal and sending the nescessary signal to the device that controls the vacuum? What does the vacuum pot actually do and does it matter which way round it is? Does the one way valve need to be fitted to the inward or outward leg of the vacuum pot? Thanks kindly...
  9. Cheers for the input fellas, gonna have a cuppa and then ill start the investigation..
  10. Good to have met you the other day and the car is looking as lovely as ever.. Turbo??????
  11. Im not too sure mate, ill whip it out later on and see whats going on..
  12. Ok, i purchased a second hand head unit not long ago and a mate of mine did the honours and whacked it in the car.. All seemed good at the beginning but now it sounds terrible, i get interference noise in the speakers and loud noise when pulling main beam on. Im not sure if the beam did this originally as i havent really used the car much but now its all over the shop. Worth mentioning this happens with the radio or Cd player running.. Im intending on pulling the radio back out later today but does anyone have any suggestions, bit awkward as it was a favour from a mate but i think it must be something to do with the fitting...
  13. Funny one this for me, as others have stated im not thinking about selling so it doesnt really matter what its worth but at the same time im aware i wouldnt get back what i paid for the Corrado but is that what i bought it for, no, i bought it for the car and the experience of owning one and for as long as i continue to enjoy that then it wont go up for sale. Also agree that people being a bit more patient when selling would help things, i know if mine ever goes i wont be giving it away.. On the Mk2 front i reckon i will make money on mine, 3 door oak green 16v, ive done nearly 10k in it since i got it so really it owes me nothing but i have been offered more than the price i paid and turned it down..
  14. Id love to do something like this, must have been a quality day..
  15. Those RCs look abit tasty James, you gonna stick with the 312s or put some really big stoppers behind them?
  16. Looking very much the part, have heard very good things about snappy gaitors.. Havent forgotten about the oil cap, back down in Pompey now, Pm will be with you after the rolling road..
  17. I wouldnt rule out the Leon from your search list although it is such a shame a 3 door was never made. Youd be able to get a much newer Cupra for your money than Golf/A3 and have pretty much all the toys, climate control, MFA on 03 onwards etc etc....
  18. It does sound that something has been disturbed and youve got some short circuit action going on. Have a good mooch around what youve been working on and fingers crossed you should be sorted..
  19. Goodness me mate theres all sorts going on there.. Have you fitted any audiom gauges or anything else electrical recently to disturb any cable runs? I dont think low voltage from the battery would prevent gauges working, what voltage is it reading?
  20. That S3 a new purchase? That is a nice motor...
  21. Thanks very much, yes they are a lovely couple, the Golf wears the trousers though, the Corrado is just the younger brother.. Update on the Corrado, nothing actually, i havent seen it for 2 weeks and am looking forward to being reaquainted tomorrow...
  22. Heres a few daft ones ive had.. Escort Cosworth at the age of 19, 25k value - £6.5k insurance. Last year did a few quotes in a row.. Corrado £600 Cossie £650 TVR Tuscan £1100 DB7 Vantage (70 grands worth) £1500 DB5 (150 grands worth) £500 Just need the money for the DB5, i can afford the insurance.. :)
  23. Goodness me where have you been hiding?? 15s, nah, got to be bigger than that. Going away with work very soon so everything is kind of on hold until i get back and then ive got the next list of jobs and purchases including some nice shiney wheels.. Hows the alfa, Romeo???
  24. The rims look ace, some serious camber on the rears - still cant believe this is a daily its far too good for that..
  25. I know a few guys who have fitted these to Rados and Golfs, meant to be a potential pain to fit but most seem happy with them although they do not add a massive amount of power.. I have heard conflicting stories about wrapping them though, some do and some dont..
