  1. You dont need any luck Karl, i hope i get to see (and drive) this car before you get silly and charge it...Its gonna be awesome..
  2. Good work, did you powdercoat you original wishbones or have you bought new ones and coated them? Subframe look good, look forward to getting all this lot sorted on mine in the coming months..
  3. Ive been in touch with PSI about this as well and they were very helpfull, got no doubt they would take the job on..
  4. I replaced with OE on mine and it feels fantastic. I wouldnt want it to feel any different now they have been done..
  5. Youre right Yan, its a very basic car and thats what makes it so good, nimble on its feet and cheap as chips for spares..
  6. Mine used to be a daily, but i dont need a car for work so i suppose it was for pleasure plus the occasional supermarket run, chip shop etc.. Now ive got a Golf as well so the Corrado is fair weather only, i dont limit myself to times of the year at the moment becasue of its a nice day and i fancy a blast i want the option.. I should have bought something sensible as a daily runner, a 306TD or something like that but i guess im not that sensible..
  7. Youve picked a good time to buy a Rado as the values at the moment seem to be at an all time low, you really can get a lot for your money.. At the moment 1-1.5k will get you a valver and 2-2.5k will get you a VR, thats nearly half the prices when i bought nearly 3 years ago.. Running costs on a VR arent as high as what youd expect either in terms of petrol and parts, ive got a 16v Mk2 whch isnt that much better than my VR Corrado.. Happy hunting..
  8. Thats terrible, gutted for you.. I know its the person that matters not the car but id be heartbroken if that hapenned to mine..
  9. I had the pleasure of seeing this in the metal tonight and the pictures dont really capture whats going on. I walked in and was like 'wow', id seen the car a few months before in standard form and now there is all sorts going on. The attention to detail is lovely, for me its all well and good having all the extra power but unless its packaged nicely in the engine bay then id rather not and its certainly layed out nicely, James admits having a few late nights of reading and grafting in the garage and it shows.. I only went round to drop a pipe off and have a 5 minute chat and i was there for 2.5 hours so hes as good at talking as turboing VRs.. :) You are going to raise the bar for the big power boys and to say its all your own work - hats off to you..
  10. Last time i drove one it felt like it.. Ok, as a rule percentage losses are around 20-25%..
  11. Mention for quicky1980, heater facie recieved nice and quickly and in good shape, happy days...
  12. Im sure Tom would be extremely pleased to see you Jim... :D
  13. Good to see it back to life Rob, you must be a happy man.. Any ideas what shes gonna put out on sunday?
  14. Some good progress Yan, car is in safe hands...
  15. Good work Tom, that tractor certainy comes in handy for all sorts. I dont think ill forget the time i turned up at your and your old man was in a Corrado swinging from the tractor, i thought everyone had gone mad..
  16. An early bonnet will work with late wings but im not sure about headlights..
  17. Is that Dan Stones motor?? I thought you were only doing chains and clutch.. Looks like it was a fun day out..
  18. My VR did the same, on the way back from Stonor it dropped all its oil (i just caught it in time) and it took another 10 litres to limp home. Needless to say its the best oil flush its ever had and everything is sweet as a nut but i still didnt enjoy the experience.. Fraid that would have been my Golf Dave, its been marking its spot since i got it and just kindo of havent got around to it, along with the windscreen, clutch.. :)
  19. Shame but thanks for the answer.. Off to buy a new clutch very soon then, 9a one will be involved in a garage clearout soon then..
  20. Nice one David, its not the gauge ones i need, im getting touble for painting my dads drive so id best get them changed...
  21. It is the rod change box, was hoping that the internals of the clutch may have been the same, worth a shout..
  22. Goldie

    Update...

Thats a nice upgrade, i like...
  23. Front bumper, wings are physicaly wider so need to be matched. Rear bumper is the same size early and late but thye have a different swage line around the top. I think wide track is VR only but i could be wrong. J/K plate cars tend to have raised bonnets.
  24. This is in relation to my Golf but does anyone know if a clutch from a 9a is the same as the KR, ive got one that is good as new and would like to use it if possible??? Secondly, in the last couple of days ive started getting a bit of speedo wobble going on, nothing to violent but between 40 and 55 mph ish it does have a little bit of a dance, anyone got any suggestions of what i can start looking at to put that right?? Thanks..
  25. How much are these from the dealers (the switches) as my Golf ones are past it. Ive been through all this with the Corrado but dont have my folder up North..
