  1. Ah, so its a management and height of block difference, i see, thankyou..
  2. Sorry to jump in here peeps but what is the difference between a ABF and a KR/9a engine??
  3. You off again then James, not really suprised, sounded like it was on the cards..
  4. Ive heard that it was meant to be a 24v initialy, shame it didnt happen really..
  5. Nice new bits, will work well on your motor Andy..
  6. Im missing mine, its all tucked up in the garage and im at the other end of the country, cant wait for April/May to get it back on the road.. I washed my daily last week and in the 4 days ive been driving it it is black, rear number plate has gone etc etc, thats when i think yes, a little time not using the Corrado is worth it.. Id just buy another one, youre going to at some point..
  7. Im hoping to pop in and see Jimmi in the next week or so to see how hes getting on with the conversion, its going to end up being a very interesting car when its all sorted...
  8. All the best Darren and co, have fun..
  9. They are obsolete from the dealers, tbh i made a replacement for mine from leather which looks loads better and have put the original on the spare bits pile.. Glad it all got resolved in the end for you..
  10. Ive never seen this car in the metal before but there are some unbelievably good pictures in this thread, awesome car..
  11. Get a trickle charger, ive layed mine up but dont have any sockets in the garage so mine is disconnected.. Increase tyre pressure or put some wheels that you arent bothered about...
  12. Just a little update on the Golf, have had it for about 3 months and am still loving it. Its driving so much better now since the gear linkage bushes have been done, the gears really were all over the shop before Martin (VR6 South) and me attacked mine and his Jetta.. Ive had to tighten up the rear wheel bearings as they were rediculously loose. Other jobs have included replacement rocker and inlet manifold gaskets, it would have been rude not to shot blast and paint the manifold and rocker cover at the same time so i did that. Only one more oil leak to sort now which is coming from the filter housing.. Still need to sort the windscreen, have been putting it off as im gonna have the rust around the wiper sorted at the same time and i must have a look at the CV joints cos she knocks a bit on full lock... Musnt grumble though, ive done nearly 6000 miles in it already... Anyway heres a couple of pics, no mods apart from single headlight grill and the other is on the rollers where it made 149.8bhp which im rather chuffed with..
  13. They are the normal belts for you guys, we dont have the ones like that here, just normal over the shoulder ones..
  14. Thats nice, as is the Bora (or jetta as you guys call it).. Welcome to the forum..
  15. I wouldnt be happy with a THINK its a head gasket, it can be found out for definite...
  16. Could well be an airlock, good sign that youve still got the water.. Run the car up to temp with the rad cap off and 'massage' the hoses to encourage any air out and see how it goes from there.. Check to see the bottom rad hose heats up to confirm operation of your thermostat..
  17. There is a screw towards the front of the car by the speaker, remove the grill and you see it...
  18. Mate, no intent to stir taken... :)
  19. Sounds like the oil breather that connect to the inlet air trunking to me..
  20. Thats not the one i meant.. (EDIT my bad mate, ive seen that one but i mean a Vlaver that was in the for sale for a while).. The new colour is an Alfa colour..
  21. The only one ive seen was the one that was parked on VR6 Storm's drive, an early valver on BBSs...
  22. Its LC6V, the early Pearl Green.. I was under the impression that early cars, and there are very few can be found in Oak Green...
  23. Coming along nicely, already a much better car than when i first saw it, just stick with it and you will get there.. Remember not to listen to your old man too much though mate, being sensible and Corrados doesnt go..
  24. Looking great as ever, saw it at Harewood (with the split pipe) and it still looked good although you were ploughing the dirt it is so low.. Keep up the good work..
