  1. Im looking at getting a new head unit before ultimate dubs and want something that is subtle and very good quality. The budget isnt enormous and wouldnt rule out a second hand / foreign ebay purchase.. These nakamichis are the look im after really so does anyone have one and whats its like, where from, how much, anyone got one they dont want, any possible alternatives?? Budget is 200 max, i know the nakamichis are dearer than that new....
  2. Agreed, one of the blokes is miserable but the work and value for money was excellent...
  3. Im looking at getting an exhaust for mine and have always fancied a supersprint, do the guys who have these recommend them, ive heard a few bad stories?? Or should i play it safe with a MAgnex??
  4. Nightmere.Ive heard of them being drilled out or get a suitable sized socket and welly it so it is stuck onto the locking nut (risk of damaging wheels if not careful). Only hope is that they arent on too tight, locking nuts just need to be nipped up for exactly this reason.. When you do get them sorted go for the ones that have a clover shaped lock on them from mcgard, so much more substantial.. Like these.. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur ... %26hl%3Den
  5. Dont get me wrong Dave, i love the Mk2 but in a very different way. The Mk2 is nimble and very responsive but the Corrado feels so musclely and the mid range power feels fantastic, and as for the noise... Im very flattered with the compliment as your car is every bit as good as mine just with a load more power. Im hoping work is going to prevent me attending everything this year, Stanford looks like a goer but after that nothing is guaranteed at the moment. I really want to arrive at a show with some RSs this year. Ill know more when i move north in May, fingers crossed..
  6. Cheers Andy, its always a relief.. Other thing id forgotten to say is i need a new headunit, ive had a look at the Makamichi things which is the sort of thing im after. Anyone got an experiences, how much and where from???
  7. Update time.. Been a lovely sunny day down in Pompey today and it was made better by the fact that the Corrado went through its MOT, no advisories. The MOT man was very complimentry about the old girl. Its been the first time ive driven it for a few months and goodness me its good, im definitely feeling the love... :) Thought id give her a wash when i got back and im over the moon with how shiny its looking.. I did take some pics but they came out poorly, ill try again tomorrow.. Progress over the winter has just been the small things, badges, aerial base, removed some of the dash that didnt fit correctly and sorted. Plan for next week is to get the rear beam off, rebush, fit the Mk4 rears that ive painted up, new 90mm chin. Ive also got a stealth remapped ECU for my engine set up that will be going on shortly, im toying with the idea of an exhaust in the not too distant future, its been a while since ive been through a spending phase... :D
  8. I can let you know exactly tomorrow as mine is in for an MOT...
  9. I know my old man was changing the springs on his MG Midget and didnt have a spring compressor so he used the weight of the car by lowering it against another jack and compressing the spring.. Bit cowboy but ii worked so happy days...
  10. Going silver Michael? Rears are done in silver ready to go on when the rear beam goes back on.. Keeping the fronts red for ultimate dubs but then silver, reds wouldnt look too good behind RSs i reckon.... :)
  11. For that budget id be saying Cerbera if we werent sticking to the 2 named cars....
  12. Ive just used hammerite smooth on the Mk4 rears that will be going on mine and it looks lovely.. Much better finish than using brush on, durability reports to follow. I used halfords brush on for my 288s and they worked really well, there is going to be a colour chage soon though so i reckon ill be going with the spray...
  13. For me it would have to be the TT from those options...
  14. Eric - Tempest, he lives there and has 2 roccos and a rado..
  15. It will fit, the one from tge Golf is a 50mm inlet and the one fitted to Corrados is a 42mm. You will need the specific gaskets for the 50.. Plus side is a gain in bhp from using the 50 but a slight drop in torque...
  16. Goldie

    Shiny new discs

They look nice and tidy... What rims are they going to be hiding behind?
  17. I dont think its about doing something new although lets be honest here 16v G60 Corrado arent exactly common place and ok the interior has been 'used' but its still a masterpiece. Youve done everything that most would, and id love to do to mine, and that is take the car back to the beginning and start again, ok i wouldnt be TVRing mine up inside but that where its interesting, this forum would be a bit boring if we all had same car, same wheels, same interior blah blah blah... Stop being Moddest Dan and just take the compliment... :)
  18. Youre not hanging about mate, wasnt long since i saw this car and it was standard... Im home again in March, expect a visitor..
  19. A different gear box?? Details Charlie??? Sounds like this car is about to go from being really fast to stupidly fast...
  20. Looks incredible Dan, alot of money yes but it looks like its worth it.. Im reckoning that this is going to be one of if not the best Corrado out there in the coming months, cant wait to see it...
  21. Good price for a nice car, you gonna turbo this one then??? :)
  22. I bit the bullet today nad have removed mine from the Golf and Corrado, really dont fancy handing over 30 quid for what i think is a blatant money earner, motorists are just far too easy a target..
  23. Thats lovely... Glad im not up North at the minute, weather looks shocking..
