  1. HIC used to be a really excellent company to deal with. I used them for over 15 years but tbh, despite all their "we're all enthusiasts here" PR bollocks, unfortunately they are just another insurance company now.

    Cheap RS301's

There was a set brand new still in the boxes on Edition 38 a month or so back for £2k...
  3. They're the right arms according to the wiki on here Pete :) wiki.the-corrado.net/lupo_wipers.html
  4. Cazza are you building a collection of these? Didn't you buy Rams' one as well?
  5. Cool. Going to Edition 38 on the Saturday so should be able to make this :)
  6. Haven't any of you heard the phrase "dare to be different"? If one of the PVW faces done this you can guarantee every other car at Ultimate Dubs next year would be rocking the look
  7. Not sure if "feeler" type threads are frowned upon on here, so if they are please feel free to delete. I'm thinking about changing my rims but don't really know what I'm after or even if I should do it! So... Got a set of mint 17" BBS RCs for swap/PX that were refurbished by The Wheel Specialist in Fareham last October, in a factory style polished ally finish at a cost of £380. They have covered less than 500 miles since and are still in freshly re-furb'd condition. Have been sealed with Zaino ClearSeal and waxed with Chemical Guys Wheel Guard. Come with genuine BBS 3D carbon fibre centre caps and a BBS removal tool (the decent one not the crappy VW one). Can be seen in my profile pic and in the picture below. If anybody's seriously interested I will get some pictures of the set on Saturday. Not really sure what I'm looking for swap wise, maybe something dishy, RH ZW1 type but open to suggestions - so what ya got? :D
  8. Don't know if this is the right place for this sort of question or if I'm allowed to ask this sort of thing on here, so apologies and move/delete if necessary :) Both the front calipers on my daily (2005 Alhambra) are sticking and binding. I replaced the discs and pads last week and its still doing it. Spent today cleaning the calipers and greasing the guide pins etc but they are still binding. Just wondering if its likely to be the master cylinder - letting the fluid flow out to push the pistons out but not allowing it to return. Does this sound like a solution before I go lashing money I don't have out on it? Is there a way of testing a master cylinder?
  9. Tom - that's not your red front bumper located in Derbyshire on eBay is it?
  10. Bit of a random one but spotted this last night while I was watching Knowing Me Knowing You (Alan Partridge)
  11. I can do pretty much any of the dates but am working on the 24th til mid-dayish but could come after that, other than that any times fine for me. Actually I've ticked Sunday 15th but just realised I can't make that day sorry...
  12. No the LHD part number is 535, this is 536. Murdo - PM Henny - he had a set for sale a while back that he had done himself so should be able to offer some good advice.
  13. Fay - I would have thought they'd have all the bits to do the job - thought it was gonna be a diy job. Its here if you get stuck though :) Jochen - still available new from http://m.vwheritage.com/classic/#/classic/?sSearchText=536919527&btnSearch=Search
  14. That's awesome thanks Fay. I've got a little bit of fettling to do but should be able to make it fit I reckon. I think I've got a spare connector kicking about somewhere and should have enough cable left over to make a loom - if you need it just give us a shout :)
  15. Nice one cheers again Mic :) I think I'm pretty much there now after looking at your pic and description thanks mate but if anyone else fancies chipping in with any pics or suggestions, please feel free...
  16. Some nice bits and pieces here but no NOS VSRs, G-laders etc? Or aftermarket NOS Neuspeed, Oettinger or Kamei bits? No-one got any old main dealer official workshop bits?
  17. Brilliant cheers Mic. In the pic, the right hand side looks inline with the edge top to bottom - do you remember it being flush or did it sit slightly further back towards the top, below the lighter?
  18. Does anyone have a picture of the VDO OEM voltmeter and oil pressure gauge panel fitted in their car? I've done a search and found loads of pictures of them loose but none fitted. I've just bought a set that have been modded for an early dash and I need to re mod them to fit them into my car, but I've just discovered the back of the centre console where the ashtray screws in has been broken and bodged so the ashtray is on the **** (never noticed it until today) and I'm having trouble lining up how it and the gauge panel should sit... If anyone has a picture of theirs fitted it would really help me out :)
  19. Not necessarily always the case. I've run lowered springs on standard shocks on loads of cars with no detrimental effect on the life of the shocks. As long as you're sensible with your drop, its fine.
  20. That is a stunning looking car. 19k is strong money but I suppose that's what they go for these days and the delivery cost is pretty fair  Got gazumped on a freshly restored RS2000 in the early 90s. Was up for £2000 and I agreed and left a deposit. A "mate"'went round and offered more money which the seller accepted. He took it home, parked it up and left it to rot. The last time I saw it he was building a garage and his dad was knocking up cement on the boot lid. Since heard he ended up scrapping it :(
  21. Personally I would say Eibach springs and standard shocks give the best compromise between looks and ride quality if you're on a budget. Having said that, I have AP coilovers on my Alhambra and I have to say, it took me a long time to be convinced to buy "cheap" coilovers but so far they are great.
  22. Still available new from Classic Parts via Heritage http://m.vwheritage.com/classic/#/classic/?sSearchText=536919527&btnSearch=Search
  23. Damn thought you were going to say that - I know where I can get hold of a MKIII one for not a lot of money. I saw that one yesterday but £180 is a ridiculous price IMO, although having said that I think I sold mine for about £120 and that's getting on for 10 years ago now. The real killer is I was watching one last year, ready to bid at the last second and got into a discussion about some bollocks or other with my girlfriend - it ended at £32 RB - You say that but when they went out of production I priced up getting them reproduced and it was something mad like £500 a throw unpolished (and that was back before metal prices went through the roof). Cheers for the replies
