  1. Here you go. I think the bore is about 55mm?
  2. Hi Chris - Here are the photos of the requested cracked fog. Let us know if you want it.
  3. Hiya, Added another photo (Swompy's VR6)to the link I sent you.
  4. More than their weight in gold? Glad I have 7 sets stashed in a safety deposit box
  5. What are u like! Look forward to seeing the latest project
  6. Hope the rebuild fixes it Andy. You need to give me more notice of when your foot goes down for it to be a fair test of the 3.68!
  7. Nice little meet up. Cracking venue for breakfast and photos. Good to see you all, well done to those who came from further afield. Thanks to Andy for organising it See you all in the spring!
  8. Good work Ian. Are you out on Sunday?
  9. Shame but did look inevitable given the amount of rain we've had around here. Where I work was flooded on Monday night and we can't go back for 6 weeks! I'd probably be up for something as Sunday is my last day before the winter SORN kicks in. Kemble sounds good
  10. Quite like the Seiko. I had a similar "Fast Navigator/Aviators" (that may not be the right name!) version but its now broken and they no longer make them. The best thing about it was how bright the dials are at night - what's the Seiko 5 like on that score?
  11. Can't fault the 263s and a re-map. I had both done at the same time (at Stealth) and was really pleased with the results. These were the charts Went from 192.4bhp to 220.8 on the day. I do have a BMC as well - that's a great mod too but mpg did seem to drop a lot after fitting it - suspect that' was more to do with me gunning it all the time though ;)
  12. As Bazza says they probably won't be that strict. The flyer says "we would like you to be there by 9:15am"
  13. I heard Jim was in San Quintin!
  14. Have read the document. Looks like there is plenty of wriggle room in it - for example non compliances can be categorised as minor only ("having no significant effect on the safety of the vehicle and other minor non compliances")and not even require a re-test - I imagine a lot of the mods we are talking about would be categorised as that. It goes on to say.... "roadworthiness test’ means a verification that the parts and components of a vehicle comply with its safety and environmental characteristics in force at the time of approval, first registration or entry into service, as well as at the time of retrofitting" If you think about it most mods will at least comply with standards at the time of first registration if not exceed them so why wouldn't the vehicle be regarded as compliant??. It does not say components have to be EXACTLY the same just that they need to comply. I'm not worried at all. Looks like a storm in a tea cup to me
  15. I know what you mean. As far as I'm concerned I think you should do both - drive it hard and maintain it well. There is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from looking after it and cherishing it after all a lot of those things actually help it perform better and survive for longer which for some of us who have the long term bug is quite important. Its quite satisfying to fix things that have broken or refurbish things that have deteriorated.. I also think that there is a special bond that builds up between man and machine when you really start to look after it - I hesitate to call it a relationship! Taking a bit of time on keeping it all together means you inevitably start to know your car really well - try reading Zen and the art of motorcycle mechanics to understand what I mean. There is definitely a borderline between all of that and becoming OCD obsessive but I think its probably in a different place for all of us and more than a few us may have crossed it once or twice!
  16. Some nice views there Jake. Is there a smoked effect going on with your rear number plate - prefer bright yellow myself

    Dehumidifiers

I heard laying a carpet down may help absorb some dampness? I've done that as we had loads left over from a change. Makes the car feel pampered anyway!
  18. Welcome back to the fold! Cracking car you have there. Your old Storm provided a lot of the inspiration for mine so shall watch this with interest.
  19. Well put! Its been a fantastic games. All of life is mirrored in sport which is why it has the capacity to inspire and move us - the triumphs, the disappointments, the unexpected. So many great moments and not just team GB golds. Who can forget the excitement of South African swimmer Clad le Clos's Dad after watching his son win gold or Zac Purchase and Mark Hunters utter dejection at losing the double sculls. The crowds have been amazing too - can any Olympics ever have had such passionate support? The character of the nation has been shown off to all the world this week and it makes you feel very proud to be British.
