  1. Welcome back! Nice car to return with!
  2. Me too! Thanks for posting. We went on the Saturday last year and had a fantastic time!

  4. I used to have a fish tank on my desk at work - got almost no work done!!
  5. Need to confirm with events secretary but in principle should be able to make this:-)
  6. Just booked my Ticket for Saturday - bearing in mind this is prime hay fever season I decided not to camp overnight!
  7. I have a huge (and I mean huge) collection of Motor Sport magazines dating from 1963 to the 1990's. Now that I've worked my way through them I'm looking to free up some space (I have almost 400!) They are truly fascinating time pieces from a bygone age - great articles on Grand Prixs (think Stuart, Clark, Surtees, Senna, Prost, etc) , RAC Rallys, Road Tests as well as some very interesting period adverts. Sometimes these come up on E-Bay as ideas for landmark birthdays - 1963 for 50ths and 1973 for 40ths etc I'm open to offers on whole years or even the whole collection but in the meantime I'm looking to sell individual copies for £4.50 each , or 3 for £12 including postage. Whole years £37.50 including postage. They are in very good condition for their age - bear in mind that some are 50 years old! Happy to send photos of individual magazines if required. I will be going to national day at Castle Coombe in July if that's easier.
  8. Just a thought - does anyone have a photo of Chris they could post up? I think a fair few people may recognise the face from meeting Chris but not the name
  9. Will be watching out for you - hope it all goes to plan and Kip treats you to a very expensive meal at the end!
  10. Hi, yes its still here. Let me know
  11. Very sad news and a terrible loss. Always came across as a really nice guy. Deepest condolences to his family.
  12. Where are these resistors located and how do you access them? I think I may have a simiiar problem
  13. KW V1s on mine and very pleased with them. Its not armchair driving but I like that feeling of being connected to the road. I think it probably forces concentration a bit more as well which is probably not a bad thing if you are pushing on a bit
  14. I'm also only getting the fan on 4. Does anybody know where the thermal fuse is on a VR6 with aircon? I've checked the copper contacts behind the speed dial and they seem fine. The heater blower is from a Mk3 Golf (as I discovered when I had to replace it recently).
  15. Yep I'd be interested in script and grill badges too. How much for the Storm badges?
  16. Little bit more Googling tonight on another part number quoted on the Valeo sticker (1H2819021) seems to suggest its from a Mk3 Golf without aircon! Mystery deepens! Pictures I've seen from the Mk3 Golf searches do look just like mine. Tempted to take a gamble and buy a second hand one as GSF want £156 for it!
  17. Got the motor out but it seems virtually seized to me - tried lubricating it overnight but no made any difference so I think I need a new one. Rang GSF and they said the standard replacement is for non air con cars and they could'nt source one for air con fitted cars. So question is can I just go with standard or does air con really make that much difference?? several part numbers on the casing - h17 833644q on the plastic casing itself and a valeo sticker h17833647u - has anybody got access to a part number database that might give further clues or suggest somewhere else to try - not tried the good people at VW yet!
  18. I've used Paintscratch.com (US based) twice now - they are very good and take a huge amount of care to see you get the right paint (you have to supply your cars chassis number).Maybe not the cheapest but tha'ts not always the most important thing! They do pots, cans and laquer
  19. Aha....thanks! I'll give that a go in the morning
  20. I think I have a similar problem and need to replace the motor (no 6 fuse was blown but replacing it does not fix the problem) - I've got the parcel shelf out and can now access the motor housing - does the motor just twist out of the housing or are there any screws securing it? didn't seem to want to come out by just twisting anti-clockwise??
  21. Nice shots Eric. Looks a bit parky but at least not far to the coffee shop! Love that Scirocco!
