1. I bought this yesterday as I suspected mine may be playing up, tested for one turn of the key without fitting. Turned out to be my old alarm that was causing the problem so this is surplus to requirements. Part Number: V6N0 905 865 which is the later black Polo one. Looking for £25 posted (Paypal Gift/ Bank Transfer preferred). Thanks, Andy
2. SORTED: Turned out I just needed to reconnect the alarm control box, must have been the immobiliser causing some havoc. Fired up first time once I'd done that, sounded lovely :) Now to sell on that spare Ignition Switch...
3. Yeah I read his thread and that's what made me think it was the ECU. I don't see why it would just suddenly fail though. I'll pop Vince at Stealth an email to see what his thoughts are, it's a pretty hard thing to test as it's a different ECU with a remap that removed the immobiliser stuff. DANG!
4. Well, I just wasted £30 on a new ignition switch. No change and no start! At a bit of a loss as to what's causing this now, other than an ECU problem....
5. Sorry the keep thread-jacking but it saves starting a new one. I checked all the fuses at lunch and all seem good, most relays have been replaced over the last couple of years too. The ignition switch is c. 2 years old and Genuine VW (as is everything else). This is what happens when I turn the key: Does this suggest the Ignition switch is ok? If I try a new Ignition switch, can I just unplug the multi plug from the old one and plug it into the new one, then put the key in and try to start it. i.e. leave the existing switch in place within the steering column. Finally, bit of a wildcard: The ECU in the car now is a late CP type ECU that should have a halo key thing on the stalk. When my car was remapped Vince deleted the immob from the ECU as I didn't have a new key or immob ring. As the car was stood with a dead battery for so long, could it somehow of forgotten the map?
6. Hmm, I guess it could be this: It was left in the sun for a couple of months so will have gotten very hot in the cabin... I replaced the switch about 2 years ago though. Is there an easy way to check if it's gone faulty? I do need to swap the Crank sensor out (still not fitted the one I bought off you an age ago). If the Crank sensor has gone tits up, I'm assuming I should still hear the fuel pump prime when turning the key? Would it at least try and turn over?
7. My car has been stood for a few months without being started. The battery obviously went flat and didn't seem to hold charge, and as it was over 5 years old, I thought I might as well get a new one. Stuck the new Varta 096 in at Lunchtime, and it still won't turn over. The fuel pump doesn't even prime, no sticking relay noises, nothing! Is there a list of things I should check? I can't see how anything would have come loose as it's just been sat for a 2-3 months and was fine beforehand.
8. I think very little of this actually goes on in the real world. There will however always be Internet battles for supremacy a la G60 vs VR6. Manual vs SMG, City vs United etc. I'm hoping it's mostly just good-natured banter in discussions like this, once iPhone users start getting beating to death by S3 wielding looneys (or vice-versa) we will have something to worry about.
9. I didn't think the boost had been turned up that much though: isn't it running around 310bhp, so I'd imagine under 300lb/ft torque. Is there a LSD in the box? Will be interesting to see what's happened for sure. Fingers crossed it's something simple!

11. Bump with photos. Open to sensible offers, otherwise I'll send it off to CPW tomorrow afternoon.
12. Hi, Due to the arrival of an iPhone 5 on Friday my 4S is now up for grabs. It's the White, 64GB model, running iOS 6 including box, cables etc. Currently being used on Vodafone, but as it's out of contract I've requested the Unlock code so it can be used on any network. Very good condition overall, battery life is great, not had any problems at all to be honest, I only upgraded as I got a really good deal. I've got a very good offer from one of the phone shops that's guaranteed until the end of the week. Therefore I'm looking for £400 delivered. Payment via bank transfer, Paypal or Cash. Phone is located in Oxford. Photos will be up after work today.
13. Did this sell in the end? (I have my own to put up and don't want to gazzump as sale..) :)
14. How exactly do you quantify 'best phone on the market?' Thinner? Lighter? Better screen? Better camera? Better benchmark tests? Better software? Better Apps? From what I've read your criteria of 'Better' is rather different to mine. Luckily there is more than one product on the market to fulfil our differing needs.
15. I'd say that was a very realistic price given the work done to it. It all depends on whether there's a buyer out there for it at that price though.
16. The 'ring is about 4.5-5 hours from Calais so easily doable in one shot. The 'ring campsite is very handy and not TOO expensive, they charge per 12 hours which can be quite handy too if you're there for a day and a bit (as you don't really want all your camping gear in the car while you drive round. There are lot's of nice places to eat in Nurburg and Adenau. One bit of advice would be to drive the track on a computer game as much as possible before going. I thought I'd remember most of it from playing GT5 a couple of years ago but got really lost after the Carousel. Luckily the guy I was with new it really well so was able to guide me round a bit! Good luck!
17. Since getting the M3, the VRT has been a bit neglected. I've left it on my parents driveway for the last 7 weeks and now the MOT and Tax have run out! Listening to Matts 4x4 VRT has made me really miss mine, so I'm going to sort the split CV boot and get it MOT/Tax'd over the next couple of weeks and get back out in it :)
18. I'd go with the 4" MAF housing if you haven't already as it means you don't need a MAF clamp or potentiometer. I think C2/United Motorsports should be able to sort you out if you've got a later CP coded ECU (which you'll have it you have the 4 pin MAF). Meth Injection is a good option, and isn't too expensive. You should also be able to find a charge cooler set up pretty cheaply I'd imagine. It would be a shame to give up after coming so far.
19. Just listened to the videos and it does still have a bit of the lovely VR burble, particularly on the over run. It makes me wonder what mine sounds like from the outside, as from within, as you say, it's very much Turbo noise. Looks lovely in any case, always had a very soft spot for Blackberrys!
20. Hey Tom, Did you manage to check the ABS Light part no. in the end? Thanks, Andy
21. Looking for a dash ABS light, part number ending BA (not AA!) Thanks, Andy
22. Looking for an dash ABS light, part number ending BA (not AA!) Thanks, Andy
23. Yeah they do seem a bit elusive, lots of AA ones about!
