I used Black Silicone sealer in mine too. It used to pop out when I went over a certain speed and make a hell of a racket! Been nice and snug for a year or so now :)

Eccentric Top Mounts - Fitting and Adjustment advice
poll250 replied to Slimg60's topic in Drivetrain
You got any photos of these? Might be interested in getting a set myself if it means you don't have to keep taking the wheels off to changed the camber etc -
I've got VT Gearbox and Rear engine, and a BlackForestIndustries Stage 1 front mount. Can't say I notice any extra vibration to be honest and it keeps keeps 375lb/ft in the bay daily so I can't complain! Check out BFI, I think Regal Motorsport sell them in the UK and they are a lot cheaper than VT.

If you had the choice would you go schrick obd1 or 2?
poll250 replied to winchbietch's topic in Engine Bay
OBD2 and Schrick all day, every day!! -
Mine also does this, I assume because it's trying to draw too much power, or there's a bad connection somewhere. I found an exposed wire in the speaker cabling over the weekend, so maybe that will sort it out. I'll report back after the drive home later!

Wow that is impressive! I clocked mine by accident the other week and felt there was more to give. Would like to go to a VMAX day and see what's possible, although my rev limiter is lower so I'd imagine 170 top? Great work.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Phirm in Surrey. I'd go with refreshing your existing engine if I were you, sounds like you've got a lot invested in it already.

I just sprayed mine with a few layers of vinyl paint, then a couple of layers of lacquer. Been fine for a couple of years now with no visual signs of wear.

I'd be interested, I sprayed mine black a couple of years ago, and left little areas around the decals, which doesn't look 100%

Mystic Blue Storm - MYLene - CAR NOW SOLD

Sorry can't help with the sunroof problems, but just wanted to say what an astounding job you've done on the leather refurb and Alcantara panels. When I dyed my seats I hired a compressor from Furniture clinic, all they wanted was a refundable deposit so it made sense as it was effectively free! Certainly made the job a heck of a lot easier! Keep up the hard work, and hope you sort the sunroof soon! (as I want to see finished photos ) Andy -
I think you're mean't to slip those leather gaiters over the plastic that's already on the end of the handle. Then you can trim the other bit down along the sides so it keeps it's shape a bit. There's a guide on here somewhere. Also, replacement leather handles are obsolete from VW.

They do look like Colour Concept seats, but my ones aren't Electric that's for sure!

I really should as Blenheim is but a mile from my house! -
Love the photos. Looks absolutely stunning :) RCs are one of the best on any car. Are they 16 or 17s?

Whats the worst thing youve done to ur corrado
poll250 replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
I must have a few of these: 1. When fitting the 312 callipers about 3 years ago, I over torqued one of the slider pins into the carrier and sheared it off. 2. Had to refit the old brakes that night in the dark, as I needed to use the car. In my haste I refitted the brake pads the wrong way round. Cue a lot of sparks flying everywhere on my test drive! 3. Finally got the remnants of the old slider drilled out a couple of days later, went to refit the brakes, only to over tighten it again and shear it for the 2nd time! Luckily I had a spare slider, so managed to get it sorted on the 3rd attempt. -
BBS LMs? I had them on my Scirroco on Need for Speed a couple of years ago. http://www.scirocconet.co.uk/forum/scirocco-tdi-show-car-170bhp-000-t4742.html

What's the benefit of the rear mk4 brake conversion?
poll250 replied to OllieVR6's topic in Drivetrain
I use the 17mm VR pads on my mk4 rears with no problems. The only difference that I know of between different mk4 callipers is that the slot the handbrake cable goes into is wider on some, as i think some mk4s had a different size end to the cable. The pair I bought had this wider slot, but I just used some mole grips to close the gap and it's been fine for 18 months. -
I had a look at my dash speakers today as they seem pretty cheap to replace. There are 2 connectors into each speaker, if I disconnect either of them, the door speaker stops working. If I buy a set of 10cm speakers to replace them, do I just chop the connectors off and solder them all together?

You sure it's not the fuel pump whining?

Saw an Blue VR on (I think) Anthracite speeds on Abingdon Road Oxford yesterday. Exchanged waves!
