1. Thought I'd post up my experience yesterday, as most people only seem to post when they get bad quotes. I rang Adrian Flux yesterday to renew my insurance. Something weird happened whereby my old policy auto renewed after I'd moved house, and then got cancelled, so I'd been uninsured since January without realising. Luckily I hadn't driven it since then really, but they hadn't sent me any emails or calls. Anyhow, the guy was very helpful and understanding, and after reading out quite an exhaustive list of modifications the premium came back at £680 for the year, fully comp including all the bells and whistles: 7500 Miles/yr, breakdown, hire car, driving other cars benefit and a £10,000 agreed valuation. Bearing in mind that my renewal without the Turbo would have been £610, I think that's pretty amazing to be honest. The Policy is underwritten by MarketStudy, who seem to be pretty good from what I've read. So, all in all I'm pretty happy with that! Andy
2. Thanks for the offers guys, not looking to spend more than £30-40 posted though.
3. As title, looking for an un-cracked late drivers side fog light, for a reasonable price. Thanks, Andy
4. Hey Stu, Looking for the screw covers for the speedo surround if possible. Let me know if you got em,although I think I only need RHS. Thanks, Andy
5. Hey guys, Do you have the speedo surround screw covers by any chance? pretty sure its RHS I need from memory. Thanks, Andy
6. Did a bit of work on the car last week: Changed the oil for some Synta 10-40W, I was told by VW that they are phasing out the 10-40W soon and will only stock 5-40W or something along those lines? Also replaced the top mounts as I'd been having a bit of strange feedback through the wheel for a while. They were 4 years/40,000 miles old so I'd imagine well past their best. Took about 20 mins per side and didn't even have to remove the wheels, Nice easy job :) Next job is to check the gearbox oil level, and get the wheels refurbed.
7. Wow sounds good Matty, must be excited to get it back as it's been away a while hasn't it? Did you go with the later CP ECU and 4" MAF in the end?
8. I'll take the late Drivers side foglight please, assuming it's not damaged in any way? PM payment details. Thanks, Andy
9. Nothing for 5k I don't think, anything worth having at that price will likely be knackered. I've been thinking about it a heck of a lot for the last few months, and struggle to find anything for less than 15-20k that could tempt me to replace it, and finding a car in that price range that won't depreciate wildly in the next 12-24 is a monumental task in itself. The only thing that excites me realistically are Z4M coupes, TVR T350Cs or B7 RS4s I think. Very little else has the character, or presence, of a well set up Corrado (IMHO).
10. Mmm do love the b5 RS4, they sound pretty good too from what I've heard. How does it compare to you B6 S4?
11. I have a VR steering rack in the shed, not sure on postage to Manchester but can find out if you're interested? Andy
12. Hi mate, yes I think they are. I never had them connected or anything. I bought a loom once from a mk3 and it would of fit pretty easily from what I remember. I sold the loom a while ago though.
13. Hi Abdul, Sorry I didn't see this. They sat about 2 inches higher at their lowest. Fine if you are 6ft or under I'd say, but I'm 6ft3 and my head was always about an inch from touching the ceiling. Still got the red Recaros in the shed if anyone is interested. They need a good going over and touch up, but for a couple of hours work and £50 materials they'd be mint I think.
14. Pretty sure Mort1414 had a set of CHs fitted to his with 323mm Brembos and small spacers, found his thread here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?42007-blackberry-c32-midlands&highlight=mort1414
15. I'm not really sure if I've missed something in this thread, but what are good/bad top mounts meant to look like? I've got a few weird steering issues going on at the moment, my top mounts are about 4 years/ 35,000 miles old but look in good condition to my eyes. Can anyone tell me if these are good or knackered? Nearside: then Offside:
16. I havent seen one about for ages, there used to be quite a few around Oxford too! I've only been using mine 1-2 times a week recently as its easier to ride to work with the roadworks/traffic in ox at the moment.
17. Hey Jon, Have you got the RHS speedo binnacle screw cover by any chance? I'm not 100% sure it's the same as a VR dash, but worth a try :)
18. Good luck! Very interested to see how this turns out.
19. They do look stunning with the CSL wheels, I've wanted one since they came out and they do seem like a bit of a bargain given they are only 4 years old and all have pretty low mileage and THAT engine! From the research I've done I think it'd be a very fitting Corrado replacement, although I haven't worked out if I can bring myself to part with the VRT just yet! (there's also the matter of very little boot space to contend with...) Another to drool over:
20. Well, if all goes to plan I should hopefully be getting myself one of these early next year :) Whether the VRT stays or goes is still up for discussion!
21. Looks like it was a great turn out and feel pretty gutted to have missed it, I developed a weird tracking issue last week and didn't have time to sort it before Sunday. I know from past experience that it's pretty hard for them to keep my car on the rollers even when the tracking is perfect. GUTTED! Would have been great to meet some more people on here too! :( Who got the highest figures on the day? Petes M5 or Chaz's VRT?
22. I found this book invaluable when rebuilding my engine last year, contains a heck of a lot of information that the Bentley didn't seem to, and in a nice small package. I'd recommend it to anyone.
23. Hi mate, I'm after the RHS instrument binnacle screw cover (the little bit of plastic that covers the screw by the clocks) and also, whats the condition of the outer door seal/window scraper at the top of the drivers door?
24. I only disconnected the crank sensor to see if it had an effect on he fuel pump priming, which it didn't :) Both the ecu and fuel pump relay have been replaced. Curious! Btw does anyone have the part number for the crank sensor?
