  1. yes but 2nd hand might brake next day... or never...
  2. hi. This afternoon, I dediced to take out driver's side (rhd) window regulator and the whole mechanism including motor. Well now, 2 hours later and some cuts in my hands and arms, I have done it. Now I have been looking at the following: http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/mer ... e=50-54060 and I was wondering: has any one used any of these? are they better than second hand oe ones? if there is a better way to go, please, tell me where to buy it! :D thanks :)
  3. hi there, I cleaned battery tips and re-connected them and the car has run correctly... strange, isn't it?
  4. hi. thanks. I will try it when I end my journey :) thanks!
  5. Hi. Well I use my corrado as a daily, for about 3.000miles a month. It has always turned it's starter motor on the key, but yesterday something changed. The day before yesterday, I had been using the car for the whole day, I got my shocks & springs replaced and wheels alignment was done in the day as well. It worked great. I parked it at about 1.00 A.M. and went directly to bed. Yesterday, it was 17.00h when I went to start it and it turned only "half turn" of the starter motor. I mean, it usualy sounds like "ñaaac, ñaaaac, ñaaaac", but yesterday it sounded like "ñaa" and then nothing else happened. I checked the battery and it showed 10v which is the common value it shows (yes, maybe time for a new alternator). Then I decided to push the headlights switch to see if positioning bulbs turned on and all I got was the electric windows relays clicking   . if I touch the headlights switch, e.w. relays click   if I turn the key on the first position, the third relay from the top-right corner of the fusebox (my fusebox has only 2 lines of relays) starts clicking like CLIC CLICKCLCLCILCILILCILCILCILCLICILCIL..... (this relay IIRC was used for cutting some circuits at the time of cranking). I contacted a local garage and they pointed it might be due to a low level battery (2 year old battery, 74.000km since I bouhgt it, mostly of them done at night with lights on and 2000watt in audio components). So I will go today and borrow a new and charged battery from them and try to start my car with it. what do you guys/girls think? (yes, girls, I know you are hiding in here :norty:)? please help :(
  6. us bumper lights are running lights 100% sure
  7. well I recently replaced top mounts and my car has stopped creaking   old top mounts were in a full destruction state. I will upload pics so you can see them :D
  8. are these really needed to put late door cards into early interior? thanks!
  9. back box can installed in corrado. I used one for my duplex exhaust :)
  10. thanks for your help; but I have finally found a corrado top mount :D :D :D :D :D my local garage has found it for me, so this thread can be locked. thanks david
  11. hi. the thing is.. I have put my trust in that VW would have sold them to me, but they have been able to "collect" (from other spanish vw-s) only one front top mount. I can get makes like Febi Bilstein or Monroe, but they wouldn't be available today :( I have found this topic viewtopic.php?f=23&t=50442&hilit=golf+top+mount it seems that golf mk2 g60 used early corrado front top mounts. so may it be that the other mk2's could have corrado top mounts fitted? if so, should I risk to buy one mk2 mount, or I'd better leave the one I have now (which I don't know if it is destroyed).??? thanks...
  12. Hi. I am doing my suspesion on Monday so I will replace top mounts as well :) Well, a garage will do it for me (I would fail Spanish MOT if this job is not done by a professional garage :pukeright: :pukeright: .....). The thing is I only have one front top mount (357 412 329), so I need the other one! I haven't been able to manage to get a brand new one, so I have rung lots of vw parts shop and any of them is going to have it today :( One of them has told me that he has the top mount's bearing (823 412 249), and that it can be 'easily' replaced. I have been using CF's search and I have found that early-style top mounts are one-piece mounts; and late style ones are disassembleable. So, my 1 question is: can early style front top mounts' bearing be replaced? 2 question. can I use golf mk2 front top mounts??? pics: top mount: bearing: thanks :)
  13. welcome to corrado ownership
  14. hi. this is just to tell you that something similar has been happening with the turning indicator light of my dash. I have traced it to a faulty/dodgy (still to know) clocks connector. If I move the connector, turning indicator light comes on and indicator relay clicks (really fast, like RTTRRTTRTRTTR) as well. I think it's worth a check, and see if it sorts your brake light problem.
  15. im guessing the problem you have is that you haven't cut your hands yet. the corrado was designed with a mechanism that meant it would hold back all wiring in a difficult place to reach until you had cut your hands up a bit. as soon as it senses blood, the wire is released. HTH.      I know what you mean
  16. No, we work on Celcius as well over here. Its the Yanks that use Farenheit. oh. sorry then
  17. hi. I have another set of clocks, but unfortunately, they are UK ones (with fahrenheit I think?) :? I will try to isolate the sender (the external section) and to install an oil temp gauge. thanks
  18. yes I have :( the problem is that oil temp shows (normally) 105 - 115ºC, and I have never seen water going further than 93ºC (aprox). but SOMETIMES (in summer only, I might say) water stays OK but oil jumps from 105 to 138, then 125, 132, 112 etc...
  19. Hi. I am needing to install a second temp gauge into my C due to mfa water temp being ok, but oil temp going up to 140ºC    so I need to buy a t-piece, but I just don't know what diameter, etc :| I have found some 3/8 ones, but... what is 3/8   ?? i.e. http://www.snakebite.com.au/gaugesvdoad ... =2&sort=2a which one should I buy? I am going to get this gauge http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... K:MEWAX:IT (yes. too cheap. if only it lasts 1 month it will be ok    )
  20. why spending money on another C? I would keep this one and spend the money on it 8)
  21. yes it is. and a full covering 'scuttle' cover was never made :( however you can pay loads of & and buy une in the site one has linked in this thread
  22. mate, there's both items in that pic, aux air valve is the one lower down, circled, overrun cut off is the one with the elec connector and the vacuum pipe sure? I had read that the one with vacc+electric connectors was supposed to "open" 5th injector just in case of cold engine and acc pedal pushed down "a lot"
  23. hmmm I thought it was called something like "overrun cut off valve"
