Hi, my c has surprised me again today. I have found that I have SOME parts missing in my wiper assembly (the passenger's side one , remember my c is a LHD). My car is a 1989 early style kr, and the first question is... which of the following diagrams corresponds to my c? I think that it's the following one http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1989/76/57/852933/ Of the first diagram, I only have number 21,10,11,13 so 20,and 12 are missing, so it makes that my passenger's side wiper isn't in full contact with the windscreen.... well I don't know what to ask you! but I have already written the post so I'll click the submit button

oh.. I found that the exhaust manifold is broken somewhere. I couldn't tell exactly where, it seems to be just under the manifold ,because I can feel the gases coming out from there if I put my hand around that section. As I haven't got an elevator... I think the time has come to take it to a local garage :( oh and I have found that there is some part missing in my wiper assembly, I'll open a new thread on it.

bumpage :(

it smells of exhaust gases around the exh manifold zone (well, I can't use the heater because I keep breathing gases all of time  ). But I have had a look and I can't find whereabouts it is blowing :( I blocked the tailpipe's exit yesterday with an old t-shirt yesterday, and the engine kept runing as if I had done nothing

update: would one of these fit to corrado kr, without the need to buy a cat supressor pipe, etc? http://cgi.ebay.es/VW-MK2-GOLF-GTI-16V- ... 33579ceddc so, it is, drop it in the car, and bolt on to the mid exhaust silencer??? hey here we are with the weekly corrado breakdown! This week we are facing a blowing exhaust. It sounds louder from exhaust manifold than from the tailpipe  and the same with smelling (more at front, than at back of the car). Are there any parts suitable to blow? such as gaskets, flexible part of manifold, etc? how can I locate the defective section? I have thought about throwing water on the manifold (when cold obviously!) and then starting the engine, to look for bubbles.. but it might cause corrosion  any help will be welcomee! EDIT I have found a cheap exhaust manifold made of stainless steel: however, it seems to be for a 9a corrado, see next pic with differences between kr and 9a downpipes: you guys where did you get your exhaust manifold for kr engines from????? or.. where could I get a cheap (but not rubbish) exhaust manifold from? mm and... what thoughts do you have about wrapping/or not the exhaust manifold? Some say it will keep the engine bay cooler (or less hot  )... some others say that as heat doesn't disipate, exhaust won't last that longer... thanks :)

if I'm not misunderstanding you, the adjuster tool you are refering to is the one that sits around the shifter konb isn't it? like some kind of square with strange shapes inside? Pls correct me if I am wrong The problem is that the play in my shifter comes from the top of the gearbox.

I got a similar problem (three times!) with a crappy set of anti-theft wheel nut I bought a while ago. They got rounded so I couldn't keep the adapter in place.... All I did was the following, and hey, job done! I used two jacks, in less than 1 minute the nut was out. *note the garage column on the right, where the bottle jack's bottom is. 04112009(001).jpg[/attachment:2udvaxo1]

well, shifting adjustment I thinnk it is OK. It is hard to shift 1st gear sometimes (sounding like KRRRRRRRRAAACC) but if I select " a bit " of 2nd and then go straight to 1st, it never makes that noise. All of the other gears make no noise and I can select them reasonably very a lot much VERY fast :) the thing is that I would like to sort the play... thanks for your reply

Hi, I have been reading tons of threads about shifter play, but I havn't been able to fix mine. I have the (usual?) play when a gear is engaged, that I can move the shifter both front/back something like 1cm or 2, but it isn't annoying me. What I would like to fix is a left - right movement, both with and without gears selected, and that is about 3 or 4 cm  . I have checked for the shifter circlip and it is there. I have been investigating and the shifter seems correctly hold in place. I have traced it to the top of the gearbox where the cables are attached. I have found that there is one (the top cable) which mounts have some play (something like a lever, sorry, I've got no pics and I think I won't be able to have any because there are lots of pipes, etc between me and the gearbox :( *). I have tried to re-tighten all nuts but they are alright I think. I have noticed that there are some ¿spacers? between nuts and bolts and mechanism which, IMO, if they were thinner it wouldn't have that excessive play (they might need replacing... or not? sorry no idea). Any help or tips will be welcome :notworthy: edit: here is a pic I found on google. It's not a KR but it will help to understand what I mean. The play is in the three red-circled nuts. thanks for looking!! 0327091026b.jpg[/attachment:8sfezsdd] *if only someone could post a pic of the top of the gearbox...

is it happening when cold? hot? after lying for a couple of hours + hot? how much time keeps doing this until it works fine? You should try to give us as much info as possible so we can try to help you :)

I changed mine too and it's still the same :(

then, for a non-receiver key, I think that one possible way to do it is: 1. key sends code X 2. control unit receives code X and gets ready to receive code X+1 3. key sends code X+1     edit: by X and X+1 I am refering to positions of a vector for example edit 2: I should go to bed now, I have been awaken too many hours I think

try to select "a little" of 2nd gear, then 1st. It is the way I do it... btw, does anyone know how it could be fixed? I heard something about a big white plastic ball or something

I hope they don't call anything as "the new corrado" ....

buy some electroluminiscent strips from egay. mine costed 9$. yes, $, including shipping, and it was about 0.5m iirc. keep away from leds, get an EL and DIY it won't take you more than 10 mins :D

Pic stolen from a japanese site, but it is the same as mine. The one on the left is the old, while the one on the right is the new one. Part number for the one on the right is the one ending in 7RL. it is a lil thicker and also the diameter seems longer than the old one. Any experiences with it? site: http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~a2-golf/ has some interesting articles!
