1. She who must be obeyed (when I feel like it) has been giving serious earache about getting something sensible (Calls her sanity into question somewhat!). I have suggested that I get an estate of some some kind as a daily which brings me to my query. Anybody on here have any experience of Reliant Scimitars?
2. Going by carrots signature his car is a 1.8 16v which has the KR engine. This engine has screw in sensors. I've just checked on vagcat and it confirms the part number above.
3. Think it's 027 919 501, common across several VW's
4. Enough about the hair please. And it ain't dyed either
5. There are three sensors on the side of the head at the gearbox end. 1 is for dash, 1 is for ecu and last one is for isv control unit. The three sensors are identical. Suggest you disconnect them one at a time to identify the one that shows the temp on the dash then try the other two on that sensor to see what happens. Assuming the temp guage works! Edit, I think the colours are blue/white is ecu, red/green is isv and red/yel is dash, but may be completely wrong. Another edit. Newer sensors have a flat top that the connector slides onto sideways, older ones have the upright tab for the connector. My memory works exceeding slow these days.
6. Found it on here ages ago and thought it worth keeping. Comes in handy a times like this.
7. Makes me wonder what you think is causing the smell. I instantly thought of Pulp Fiction.
8. This might help.
9. There is a large hose under the air feed just after the fuel distributer which fits into a grey valve. It's only a couple of inches long/ inch diameter, and will give your symptoms if disconnected.
10. My wifes sister won't walk in front of mine, says it looks crabbit. Oh, and it once bit a cyclist.

One of the first things I looked at. Ripped it out and ate the bulb, along with the glove box one. It's just one of those Corrado things. No doubt it will lull me into a false sense of security the pounce again when it's most inconvenient. Thanks for the suggestion though, often it's the little things like tat which get overlooked.

Car has behaved itself since the last post. Starts immediately, plenty of life in the battery. I think it just wanted some attention.

14. My wife says I have the mental age of a three year old. Does that count.

12.7 with the battery connected. With car runninf was 14.1. See this is the Corrado thing. Drives you up the wall and several insanities later decides to behave!

The multi- meter showstarts a 0.07 (radio fuse back in) lock the doors with the key fob and it rises then returns to 0.07. After a few seconds it repeats as the dead locking phase takes it's turn. All seems pretty normal except for that little spell when I connect the meter for the first time.. I think I'll steal the missuses battery for a few days and see what happens. If everything seems OK then I'll dig out the receipt for the battery and get it replaced under guarantee.

I wasn't drunk!!! Much, well just a little bit. Must stop mixing red wine and real ale. Plus I was really really, really annoyed with the Corrado. And I've been at work since six this morning and just in. So there. On a more serious note, the battery has been going flat so I got my trusty multimeter out and found that the battery was showing 12.7 volts after an overnight charge.. Putting it to amps on the positive lead I initially for a few seconds got a reading of 4.17 amps which then settled to 0.07 amps. Undeterred I pulled all the fuses one by one, till eventually the fuse for the radio dropped it to 0.02 amps. Now I don't think that that's enough draw, even with the radio to flatten the battery in a couple of days. During this process each time I measured the draw the reading went straight to 0.07. I had to chuck it for a bit to thaw out as working in a temperature of -1 and suffering from Renauds phenomenon is not fun. I reconnected the battery and started the car to get a bit of heat under the bonnet and resumed pulling fuses. Again the initial reading was in the region of 4 amps which then dropped after a few seconds which makes me wonder if something is staying on until the battery is disconnected. Then again the battery may just be on the way out. Is 12.7 volts normal for a charged battery? Anyone got any ideas which don't involve a box of matches.
18. Ahh bra's. Front seat reclined, on, for a moment. Shortly afterward, glove box or back seat. Not involved in bonnet activitys, long gone by then.

I tried all these things to stick my mirror back on only for them to fail after a few days/weeks. Put on begging face and old jumper and went into Autoglass who stuck it on for free, wouldn't even accept a few quid for some beers. Three - four years ago and still there.
21. If you put Corrado VR6 in the compatibility search thingy on the site is says it is not compatible.
