1. I never should have typed this :– “I've had mine for 12 years now and it has never left me stranded.” Because. It’s felt slightly off for the past few weeks but never had time to look at it. Had a look today and after some investigation found the crank pulley has committed suicide and the key in the pulley has almost disappeared. I’m not sure how much it has damaged the crankshaft nose but the pulley is fooked. Sorry about the grotty phone pics. Edit, the thumbnails don't appear to be displaying, but if you click them they will appear. Questions Is the crank nose beyond repair? How much is a new pulley? And, in case of the inevitable worst case scenario, anyone got a spare KR engine?
2. Too easy, 4 wheel drive V8 at least.
3. This may help explain it http://www.allaboutcookies.org/faqs/beacons.html
4. I'm not very good at sums so. If a penny tax was added to a litre would mean that petrol would rise by about 5p a litre (according to the tele people) does that mean that taking a penny off in tax means that petrol will fall by 5p a litre? Or do I live somewhere beyond the planet Zanussi.
5. Shock News!!!!!!!! 11 year old outaccelerates Corrado. Reminds me of the ancient Skoda claim that the Estelle could out accelerate Concorde. It was true, but only for the first foot or so.
6. Wullie

stupid question??

Yup, replaces the 19 relay. If you're near a scrappie they tend to fall into pockets:shrug:. Don't know how much they are new though.
7. If ever a thread title invited innuendo this has got to be it.
8. There's a short fat link hose underneath the main intake pipe that can be easily dislodged as it's not secured by clips. Would cause your symptoms if it's been dislodged.
9. I've had mine for 12 years now and it has never left me stranded, never had to call out the AA. In fact I don't even have AA cover anymore, all part of the general cost cutting. I don't think twice about jumping into it and driving a few hundred miles. Recent trips included London and Birminghm. Next weekend its off to Perth. Tomorrow, 3 miles into work. It's a daily driver with 192,000 miles on the clock. Most of the work that is done on it is preventative maintenance and repairing the usual bits that wear out. It's 20 years old now and I fully expect to celebrate it's 21st at the beginning of next year. They are as has been mentioned, old cars age wise, and any old car will have it's problems. Any newer car will also have problems if ignored. One thing everyone here will agree with is that they are timeless cars and the drive is unmatchable. (Unless your other cars a Lambo or Ferrari)
10. Just a thought. Would be worth draing any coolant remaining in the system in case it leaks through the matrix into the car.
11. Handles are held on by a phillips head screw on the rear of the door just above the locking mechanism. It will very possibly be a left hand thread which means you turn it the wrong way to loosen it. You will also have to remove the door card to unclip the wiring which runs to a plug clipped to the ddor frame. The mirrors are secured by two screws which can be found by twisting the the mirror on it's base. A good soak with WD40 or suchlike may help here.
12. I'm of the opinion that engines and cars should be used. Leaving them lying for five or six months of the year doesn't really suit them. Give it a good batter, preferably along a motorway will solve a lot of the "laid up" problems as described.
13. If it's 1.8 KR then you will not have an immobiliser to worry about. I assume you have tried checking that there is no sperk at the plugs by visually resting one on the head while turning it over. As you have a "donor" engine have you tried the complete swapping the complete dizzy over to rule out the hall sender? If so it may be the coil that is the problem. The KR is a reasonably basic setup so it's realy a step by step diagnostic procedure.
14. It goes here, bolts to the rear of the air flow meter. The vacuum line connects to a three way connector just behind the air box.
15. Klaatu barada nikto! God I feel old and pedantic.
16. I have tried changing the sort but it reverts back to the sort by title every time I return to thae list of topics. Am I missing something about saving the sort. Sorry, I am old and a bit slow with changes. On the whole though i am happy with the the new format and getting there slowly. Well done to Andi.
17. Puerile tosh that's a bit of an insult to an ameoba's intelligence. Still watch it though and enjoy some bits and get to shout at the telly for other bits. All in win, win.
18. Welcome to the forum. Ayrshire's becoming a little Corrado hotspot.
19. Total guess, but as the alternator and power steering pump run off the same belt is it properly tensioned or is it slipping. Worth a check at least.
20. Probably hot air but............. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/19022011/23/mateschitz-admits-vw-interesting-discussion.html
21. A woman went into a store to buy her husband a pet for his birthday. After looking around, she found that all the pets were very expensive. She told the clerk she wanted to buy a pet,but she didn't want to spend a fortune. 'Well,' said the clerk, 'I have a very large bullfrog. They say it's been trained to give blow jobs!' 'Blow jobs!' the woman replied. 'It hasn't been proven but we've sold 30 of them this month,' he said. The woman thought it would be a great gag gift, and what if it's true... No more blow jobs for her! She bought the frog. When she explained froggy's ability to her husband,he was extremely sceptical and laughed it off! ... The woman went to bed happy, thinking she may never need to perform this less than riveting act again. In the middle of the night, she was awakenedby the noise of pots and pans flying everywhere, making hellacious banging and crashing sounds. She ran downstairs to the kitchen, only to find her husbandand the frog reading cook books. 'What are you two doing at this hour?' she asked. The husband replied, 'If I can teach this frog to cook..........you're gone.'
22. Worth checking for vacuum leaks or disconnected pipes in the areas where you were working.
23. Welcome from another Wast Coast Corrado owner. Perhaps we could meet in the middle?
24. Hard to tell from the picture as there's nothing to judge size. If the pipework is the same size as the fuel pipes then it certainly isn't off a 16v and isn't power steering. If it's a larger diameter I don't recollect anything like it in the power steering system either. It may just be a part from another car that was left lying in yours.
25. That's just typical of people consumed by greed. Just when things are looking up for the planet and our wallets....... Especially the Government As the AA mention in the last paragraph. But AA president Edmund King warned: ‘The fact the hydrogen is cheaper now doesn’t mean it always will be because the Government would soon get its hands on it and increase the tax.’
