  1. Start on the script for your next podcast you lazzy bugger. :D
  2. Actually enjoyed this- made me scared of the dark for a few nights!  Is that the one where the girl gets dragged out of the bed by her leg in the middle of the night? Quite enjoyed that film. The end was a bit predictable though. Yeah, but by that time you'd watched an hour of tosh. Two people with a camera and someone off stage kicking things. Plus the ending is obvious after about twenty minutes. Seen scarier things in Scooby Doo.
  3. Paranormal Activity 0/10 A complete and utter waste of time.
  4. I'm not totally sure if they still do remaps but worth a phone call, They are just behind Glasgow Airport A.V.A. Easter Walkinshaw Farm, Walkinshaw Rd, Renfrew, Renfrewshire PA4 9LP Tel: 0141 848 5257 I think Jamiehamy on here used them recently, try dropping him a PM.
  5. I had a similar problem inasmuch as the starter would turn over slowly. Turned out to be the brushes in the alternator which were worn and only producing enough charge to keep things going. Fitted a new regulator brush unit and all is well now. Cost about £10 from ECP, their part no 414 44 0050. Original part no 069903803D. It's an eaasy fix as well, two philips screws secure it. They will be tight so it may be easier to pop out the alternator as access to the rear one is awkward. If you have the means to check the alternator output is should around 14 v just after starting dropping a bit after the charge used to start the car has been replaced. (Only way I can think to say it.)
  6. Really want to see this- it's getting cracking reviews! 8) Watched this and thoroughly agree.
  7. Wondering what the weight of snow plus the temperature variations are doing to the roof panels. There must be a fair old weight pressing down on it. Mines a daily so I keep it clear but it was just one of those thoughts as I looked at some of the pics.
  8. At lest the headlights look brighter than a Corrado's
  9. Welcome to the forum, fount of everything you want to know about Corrado's. Just remember to use the search so as not to upset the Mods. Hail to the the Mods.
  10. At least it wasn't some undercautious twat who had crashed killing a few innocent people causing an even longer tailback.
  11. That's genius! Not really, just old and poor and been mucking about with things mechanical all my days. I think it was Methuselah showed me that one.
  12. I'm leaning towards jamiehamy on this one with a proviso. Have a look at the existing cables and if there is no degrading or rust it is probably just icing in the current temperatures. I had icing on a six month old cable due to the rubber seal being dislodged and allowing water in. On the other hand if its knackered otherwise, replace it. Being skint I can't justify replacing serviceable parts when all they need is a clean and grease. On a side note I grease my handbrake cables, and any other cables, using what the kids call "Water Balloons". Fill the balloon with grease and tape it tightly round the end of the cable then gently squeeze forcing the grease into the cable. Squeeze away till the grease is pushed right through and comes out the other end. Just ensure that the cable nipple is clear of the end of the outer and not blocking it. Can be a bit messy but is effective.
  13. Just had a look in the handbook for mine, 1'8 16v. There is no mention of changing tyre pressures for winter tyres.
  14. I think the "CF Nutter" description is perfectly apt on this occasion.

    9a engine

Is the engine type not part of the engine number? Mine is a KR and the number coincidentally starts with KR!
  16. I salute you. That is dedication :notworthy:
  17. Above the fuses under the steering wheel. Relay is 19 early or 99 late IIRC. Later one gives you the variable speed intermittent wipe.
  18. I think the original 'normal' reg stays assigned to the car throughout its life. My Rado has had a private reg, which the owner took with him when he sold it on. I have a paper trail showing the reg change. The DVLA probably have records for it...? Mine started life with the original registration, G 434 DSD, went private and then was issued a new number G ** FSJ when it was sold to its second owner. I assumed from that it was just issued with an un-issued number fron the original year of registration. Maybe it just depends on the licencing authority doing the change.
  19. This is the bit I was talking about
  20. The lock cylinder can be removed, if memory serves me right, by drilling a smll diameter hole in the casting at a specific pont. This allows you to push in a pin which allows you to exrect the cylinder. I don't know the measurements for the hole location offhand but I'll see if I can find the book I read it in. It may have been the Haynes Golf and Jetta manual (Red one) but a mate has it at the moment. Perhaps someone else has one or knows more about this.
  21. It was just a thought really. Seemed similar.
  22. Would this help? http://wiki.the-corrado.net/tt_seats_fitting.html
  23. Not sure... Occassionally I notice that after turning on the ignition, the doors lock... then open when you turn it off. So sometimes you can't get out the car with the engine running, other times you can... I'm not sure why, but it's the Toad alarm that's doing it I think. Not had any problem with the alarm, and it's not much of an annoyance, (apart from getting locked out) but I'm not gonna do that again!! I think people like that should be sent on lessons to learn how to park considerately. Far too many of them frequent my local Tesco's :mad2: I think I'm tempted in revenge to just block them in one day , not give them QUITE enough room (maybe a foot too little to get out) when I come back from work at midnight and don't leave again until lunchtime... and claim ignorance saying I thought they could fit through. Only downside is if they're selfish enough to park like they did, they're probably selfish enough to force through the gap damaging my car in the process. Perhaps one of those straw-things or a playing card on the wheel or driveshaft so that it sounds like something's broken on the car hehe[/quote:2mthryj2] My alarm has an anti hijack setting which behaves like that. Can be a pain in the ar*e when picking up and dropping off as you have to turn the engine off to open the doors. As for revenge, put some maggots into the air intake vents and give it a couple of weeks.
