  1. I've got a Fluke but they are at the higher end of the market. Tbh Rob, anything cheap that'll measure voltage, resistance, current and continuity will serve you well, regardless of price. I had an old ten pound jobbie from B&Q before and it did exactly what I needed, it just wasn't waterproof unfortunately.
  2. My Missus is really enthusiastic when it comes to getting out in it and going to shows etc, yet the minute I mention having/needing to get anything for it - in other words, spending money, it's like I'm making the kids go hungry to pursue a hobby!
  3. Its weird as there dont seem to be many for sale this time of year with it being so close the Christmas, and you'd assume prices would reflect that. But will it now carry on with very few all year round?. Looking on ebay there seem to be as many breakers as cars for sale, so maybe now is your chance to buy at such a low price before the up?............
  4. Welcome! Sounds a very good price to me! Just be sure to give it a good checking over as I'm assuming its been laid up for quite a while with mileage that low. Get some pics up and keep us updated with your progress!
  5. Haha, they all come back in the end..................
  6. Gtechnic CQuartz C4 for trim. Those are two of the best products on the market there. Semi-permanent finish (over a years worth + of protection/restoration) so very very durable and long lasting. Not cheap for what is a tiny little bottle, although it goes a long way, and leaves a fantastic finish.
  7. Fair enough. I replied before seeing it was an older thread so hadn't seen previous replies, and I'd even posted before.......:bonk:
  8. Two bolts from the bulkhead that hold the heater box in, hoses, heater dial bowden cables, and the air ducts as far as I remember. Don't think theres much more than what you've already done mate.
  9. Indeed. Not too much needs to come off to remove the GB, so as long as you can get the car up at a reasonable height to menouvre it out, you'll have no trouble Rog.
  10. Here he goes again. Someone ought to change your username to something funny EJ. :silent:
  11. Oh I see, fir enough then. I just remember you selling a set but didn't realise they weren't correct fitment.
  12. Didn't you get rid of a good set of wheels with winters on earlier in the year Jim?
  13. At a guess I'd say he was British Armed Forces based over there with the mention of MoD security clearances. What exactly do you need Mike? Not sure if I've understood your request, but if its just a digital photo of the badges sent to you in jpg format, I can send you the Corrado and Storm ones if you like mate.
  14. Give it a good clean and machine polish and that'll come up excellent Bobby. Maybe a decent set of rims too and it'll be a very nice looking motor. :thumbleft:
  15. Indeed, very dull those Blue ones.............
  16. I'd say nearer £300 without pillars, carpet and headlining. I think £500-600 would be the best you could hope for a mint FULL interior depending on how quickly you want it gone tbh. Not sure if there are currently any on ebay. but if you trawl back through the for sale pages, there have been a couple in this year to give you an idea.
  17. Oh its early, wouldn't be any good anyway. It'd make a nice little daily for you with those sills sorting then mate. Chuck some coilies on and one of your many many sets of wheels, and you'll have a good little car there.
  18. What Green is that James? If its Classic and you decide to break, bagsy the wings mate. Absolute steal whatever you decide to do anyway bud. :thumbleft:

    Door trim

Yeah a hair dryer and patience. Try to get as much of the foam adhesive off as possible whilst doing that, as its a nightmare getting off afterward. To get the remaining adhesive off, apparently a rubber wheel on a battery drill works wonders, but otherwise you need yet more patience with some tar and glue remover or thinners, and a clean microfibre.
  20. Yeah its just a pull off affair. The clip attaches to the metal leaver itself to hold the plastic handle on and tight. Its on well, so perseverance is required.
  21. I think you've already made your mind up mate. :D You can pick up a good early Valver for much less than a grand imo. I was lucky as the previous owner didn't really know what he had - (spec on my sig) and I only paid £550 for it. :smug: Bodywork was average, and apart from a new battery, ripping out the old ebay uprated headlight loom that was causing the battery drain that eventually killed it, and removing the aftermarket immobiliser that caused it to not start, it was faultless in my ownership.
  22. I've owned both, and all I can do is reiterate what everyone else has said. I loved my KR, and if it was for daily duties, I'd be more than happy with it. For a weekend toy though, the VR comes into its own. They both need a good ragging to get going, and the KR flies up the revs pulling all the way from about 3.5-4k, yet the VR still feels a little slow and lazy in comparison. You do however get a good kick from about 4-4.5k, which a mate of mine said it was akin to the v-tec kicking in on his EP3 Civic Type R. The noise is very addictive so you tend to keep revs up just for the sake of it! They both have their pros and cons, and some say there is no discernible difference in handling, but others (me included) think the VR is quite nose heavy. I cannot remember ever experiencing understeer in the KR, yet I often do with the VR. The KR was very easy to throw around town where you just wanna point and go. The KR is more raw and unrefined though imo, and although the VR cannot really be called refined, its a nice quiet cruiser until awoken, and has the power on tap at any speed with a quick shift down or foot to the floor. One phrase that rings true though - There's no replacement for displacement.

    Plasti Dipping

Take the car to a local detailer and get paint thickness measured. If there is sufficient paint, a pro detailer will be able to bring it up like new, often for less than it would cost to plastidip the whole car mate.
