  1. Not at all mate, the more the merrier! I'll PM you if/when we sort something out buddy.
  2. The arm is held onto the rotor shaft with glue. They are literally a couple of quid so worth replacing regardless if you don't know when it was last done. As they are glued on, you may have to destroy the old one when removing it. Sometimes they can just pull off though. Take the dizzy cap off, and you'll see what is meant by it all.
  3. Cool beans Thomas. I've been meaning to do the alignment on mine for ages actually. What's the routine for doing it like this? I read up on it a few years ago but don't remember now, and I don't trust any of the monkeys locally to do it. A little sticky would be quite good I think!
  4. Would be good that Rob, have a few busy days but may be let out to play for a day or two. I've gotta get my VAGCOM back off of Rog so maybe organise a little get together for a chat and Coffee somewhere if you like.
  5. Classics, Uhhhhhmmmmmmmmm, mk3 1.6 Astra.............no Saab 9-3ss 2.0t...........no Pug 307 1.6 Rapier........no Mk5 Golf GTD..............nice but classic....no. Mk2 Focus.................no Mk3 Golf GTI (first toy)........no 4 or 5 Corsa B's and C's as stop gaps in between others.........no! Why am I making my choice of cars public knowledge! I should be stoned to death with that lot! Please go easy with the abuse, I have seen the light now I promise!!!!!
  6. Thanks Dave. I'm interested in how the rears will look too. Its a second set I've got so will go back to standard if I'm unsure of them and don't think it looks right. I'm down from late this Sunday until 28th/29th. Won't be down in the Corrado though unfortunately, its not the long distance cruiser it once was!
  7. Quick update, I'm off to pick up a bonnet and set of wings on Saturday in the correct colour. Bonnet is very good with minimal stone chips, and wings although have one or two small scabs, are much better than mine currently that have lacquer peel on the top edge of both, and rust around the front of the arch and repeater slot on the N/S. Went to collect on Sunday but didn't think it'd be safe strapping them to the roof with the kids in the car!. Gonna travel up on my own in the Corrado so if it doesn't fit in the boot, I can chuck it straight on and scrap the original worst case. Should give me a bit of breathing space with regard to respray as I think I'll get it done properly now rather than DIY, so I can save properly rather than spank the credit card which I've already done for presents this month!. I've ordered a few little bits last week - stickers for the fan shroud cover thing as mine are no longer there, a new seal for the original aerial I'm reinstating, some EL wire for the heater dials, and resistors and LEDs in preparation for the all red rears which I'll re-do over too. I've also replaced all my pillar trims with leather trimmed ones, but need to re-colour them when I do the rest of the interior too. I'm definitely ordering the Furniture Clinic Kit in January so will get it all done at the same time. The above has given me a few little bits to do over the Christmas period, obviously the weather plays a part at the moment so they are nice easy jobs that won't require too much time out in the cold! I'll get some pics up when its all on, but it won't be until around New Year as we're down in Plymouth with the in-laws for X-mas. yay. :gag:
  8. Doh, my right one is the duff one too!
  9. That's exactly what I'm doing in January, sending my headrest cover off for colour match to re-do my beige leather as I've had the bolsters repaired, and it's obviously not quite a colour match. Furniture clinic have had good reviews, and that's who I'm planning on using.
  10. I'm lucky enough to have both in the car, however one is held in place with blutack! Lol
  11. Funnily enough I ordered some of these early last week. eBay Chinese affairs but thought I'd see how it looks first. How did you attach them? I'm thinking glue gun on the back of the dial faces........
  12. Does the abf use a MAF? Those sound like classic MAF failure syptoms too. I had it on my mk3 AGG and I sorted it with some electrical contact cleaner and a cotton bud.
  13. Speaking to a friend who told me about this today. Says in the article that it was intentional, but said friend (who is a MOD on the ford owners club) says it wasn't and the guy was trying to make the exhaust "glow white hot". Meh, best thing for a Ford anyway. lol https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDEQqQIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fnews%2Farticle-2524659%2FFast-Furious-fan-sets-Ford-Focus-ablaze-tribute-Paul-Walker.html&ei=FEOvUvSWLMPOhAfcqoGAAw&usg=AFQjCNEOH1AYKpJT3TPzHWYOyu3Fdbo3eA
  14. I never look at a dirty car as a lost cause, more a chance to knock a few more quid off the asking price. Its a great feeling to take a car from a real state to an uber clean one. I now some think that if a person doesn't clean a car then they are unlikely to have kept on top of maintenance and repair work, but there are too many variables and even the most fastidiously maintained car can have deep problems. Take your chance on a bargain and if it doesn't work out, you're not majorly out of pocket.
  15. Cracking car there. :thumbleft: Unbelievable what these go for nowadays, so much car for the money its unreal.
  16. Bodywork looks to be in good order, but quite high mileage and with a cloth interior, possibly a touch overpriced - that said it is a dealer so expected. Print off the buyers guide in the wiki section to take with you. Provided everything is in good order and the paperwork is good, you should be ok mate.

    Brakes

Is it not just a PCB in the back of the mk3 light as well Sean? Surely it could be retrofitted into the standard Corrado light unit with a small amount of fettling no?
  18. Subframe will be a standard Corrado one provided the guide rails have not been chopped to fit. The Corrado subframes are all the same so if you need to replace it, any type stadard seat will do.
  19. Mk3 Derv consigned to the barn for the forseable then. How is the abf in a Corrado? Surprisingly few of them around.......
  20. The rev counter is just responding to the amount of revolutions whilst cranking, pretty sure its normal. I meant in my previous post - have you checked the spark plugs are actually sparking? Take one out at a time, you should be able to tell looking at the bottom if its wet, or by smelling it to know if fuel is entering the chamber. Next put the removed spark plug with the lead still in place on the block. Ensure the thread of the spark plug is touching metal (inlet manifold for instance) and turn the ignition. By looking through the opening at the bottom of the bonnet, you should be able to see if its actually sparking or not. Rope someone in to turn the car over if you can't do it on your own. Whatever you do, don't try to hold the plug whilst cranking lol. This will give you an idea if you are getting fuel and spark to the cylinders.
  21. Yep, Mk3 GTI 8v pre 95 iirc is the same or very similar.
