Aerial seal and the water is running forward towards the sunroof???

There are dedicated "ultra soft" pads for applying sealants/waxs etc......... Collinite 476s or 915 are both fantastic and amazingly durable, I've just spent the last 2 days detailing mine and I'm shagged now! I finished off after polish (3M Ultrafina with 3M blue pad), using 2 coats of Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 (phenomenal imo!), and 2 coats of CG Petes 53 Paste. Heres some pics.

Love the wiper cover, will deffo be investing in that! I have the B&M shortshifter kit, was on when I bought it. Its much better than standard (drove a few when looking), but is a little too stiff imo. It does kinda give a reassuring clunk when going into gear though.

I just replaced mine for lemforder ones last month. I'd say stick with OEM ones from the dealer. The drop part is slightly offset on the OE ones, the lemforder ones sit right in the middle. The welds are also very noticably larger and not tidied up afterwards. I got em cos I couldn't justify the £33 each the stealer quoted! Kinda wish I did go with it now, although not really noticable when in place. No tighter or less roll than with the old slightly perished ones tbh.

With a really long extension on your socket wrench to undo the bolt, then from underneath I reckon for removal/replacement.

If its noisy then obviously somethings wrong. Did it come with a warranty? Surely worth checking and getting it swapped anyway

Where are you based James?

Depends if its camber related though. Neg camber and its fine when cornering. Pos camber and theres very little contact with tyres and road. Same with the Toe. Toe out and its gonna be very skittish indeed when cornering!

http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1990/76/49/841543/ Think its number 34 in this, part number 113201943B

Was the tracking and camber done after it was lowered? That'd be my first port of call anyway.

Not a fan myself.

That will look good. :thumbleft: Post a pic up when its all fitted.

They do sell, just not for very much. Loads on ebay going for sub 1k. Obviously these are at the lower end of the quality scale, but people would just rather build up their ideal C now so they can add to it as and when they want/can afford. Its half the fun modding a car yourself, so the higher end ones just are not as attractive to most imo.

The one one vortex looks a bit amateur, the metal tabs on the end have just been bent around the outer edge of the switch blank, but it kinda looks the only real way to do it. You may have to go the same route, but if you put some sort of cover over it, that would pass as OE I think, and you wouldn't be able to tell too much with the usb actually attached.

Jamie your right, I'm such a tool I was just thinking about removing the GB from the mount for some stupid reason! Yes its two 13mm bolts for the mount itself to subframe. Should still be straightforward though and relatively easy. All will become apparent when your there. :bonk:

Looks relatively straightforward. http://www.swdubs.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18438

Its just your rocker gasket by the look of it. New ones are nice and cheap, you will need a new gasket for your inlet too but its a nice quick and easy job tbf.

Its not as well attended as other forums Tom. Half an hour won't give you 2 pages of answers. Patience is where its at................. even if you've still not got an answer 2 years later.:ignore::lol:

 Don't have a clue though sorry.

I had the cheapy TA Technics coilovers on my Mk3 when I first got it. They were a little crashy tbf, but not as bad as I would have imagined, and although I upgraded to Weitec they were not a million miles away with regard to comfort. The weitecs are one of the better ones and not cheap by a long shot either!

Check around the stat housing too. Its not easy to see when your havin a quick poke around, but get it up on axle stands or a ramp and get your head underneath. You should see the snail trail where its leaking from if you have a decent level of antifreeze in there anyway. They really do leak from crazy places, and if your loosing that amount and having no ill effects when driving don't panic yet! :thumbleft:

I have the same on my passenger side. It has also scratched the window, and subsequently ****ed me off! :censored:
-
Dont be daft! Good luck with your search though mate!:thumbleft:

No idea mate, it was on when I bought the car. I get a bit of stick from the local VAG lot about it being a bit chav, but its been on a while as the lacquer has started to slightly come away where its been bonded on. I dare not remove it without having a replacement boot, for fear of a costly respray! I also think its looks quite good actually!

Remembering back I think I had similar actually with an old "cough" Pug 306  CV joint was actually coming away from the hub though so when on full lock, the driveshaft would pivot and lift the whole side up on each rotation! Was kinda funny actually, although quite serious looking back! :silly:
