  1. Always another job uncovered when you start delving into it eh Rob! Good work mate and interior looks ace!
  2. Well the promise of a garage hasn't materialised at the new house, but luckily I've got one after arguing the toss. Just have to wait for them to fit a new lock as the previous owner took the keys when he left. Should be in in a week or so though hopefully. Picking up a crappy daily tomorrow though so no more using it daily! These also arrive Wednesday. They're the replacement Eibach springs, so all should now be well when they're fitted. Will replace them over the winter when I do the rest of the Underside.
  3. Looks great, I love Bordeaux pearl! That's a great tip on the rack too. Not sure anyone has ever tried a different one before so this opens up some great possibilities as Corrado ones are so hard to find and mega expensive! Be interesting to know more details - turns to lock, how heavy compared to original etc etc...... Good work so far mate, sounds like you'll have it in top shape before long! :thumbleft:
  4. I didn't have to pay any import tax........
  5. Not heard of ESC, but I've bought stuff from ARZ before and yes shipping was very expensive (€30 for q shoebox sized package), it arrived in 3 days!
  6. Haha, I'm not surprised Mic! You and Chris hitting the beer on a lunchtime is a recipe for disaster!
  7. You cam get pens to re-draw the elements on the rear screen too. I'd also recommend tar and glue remover, as it's specifically for this application. God know you don't want to come out the following morning to find some concoction you've used has reacted with your paint!
  8. Why? Long since obsol unfortunately, so therefore command a hefty price on the second hand market, and absolutely crazy money for nos. VW Heritage may be looking at getting a run reproduced iirc, or alternatively look at Karmanskki.com as he does reproduction glass.
  9. I was going to suggest Karmannski.com as he had one on his website a couple of weeks ago, but it seems to have gone now. Keep an eye out though as he occasionally puts random new bits and pieces on there when he gets hold of them.
  10. Thats direct from VW, but I'd imagine so from Classic Parts too. I know Heritage don't list it, but do for the 16v etc....
  11. Obsolete now unfortunately.....................
  12. There are a few spares Dave, they're for optional or foreign market equipment so I wouldn't worry.
  13. I have a genuine one that has been doing it since new too. :(
  14. 43 I think it was. Not the 80+ but may be a good turnaround with more today, and maybe somewhere close to that over the course of the weekend Jim.
  15. Haha, I thought the same thing! Lol
  16. Hey Paul, good to meet you too mate. Hope you get to the bottom of it. Car is looking great btw!
  17. Good news so far Rob, hope you get some sort of resolution to this. Once you find out who is responsible though, its then proving it and getting them to take some sort of responsibility though. Not to put you off mate, fingers crossed for you!
  18. Back home now. Good to put some more faces to names and great to see so many Corrados all in one place, and have to say the overall standard of cars is excellent! Was an absolute nightmare drive up yesterday, but an absolute joy to drive back down today. Weather wasn't too hot, roads were reasonably quiet and surprisingly in a good state of repair, and the car performed impeccably as expected! Hope to see you all again soon! Oh and sorry, I was utterly useless and barely took a single photo all day, and only one which is out of focus and pretty poor of the cars. :(
  19. Its on the right hand side of the fuse box as you look at it. Its in the middle and is a black plastic slide bar. When all plugs are home, it locks them in so the don't work their way out.
  20. Seeing as this thread has gained momentum, I think I'll chip in now. I spoke to someone about it a couple of days ago and it's simply coincidence this has popped up now. I think trying to revive the CCGB is like trying to flog a dead horse. I won't go into specifics, but I don't think I'll be renewing my membership next year. If this forum offered the benefits that being a paid member of CCGB did, even as part of the donation process I'd be in. In truth most unpaid forums offer everything aside from Sprinter that CCGB does. I have no beef with most of the committee, Jim produces sprinter when he can with little or no material sent into him, Eric books club stands at some great events, but the members just aren't there, Ron updates us on new merchandise when he gets it, and Ian sorts new members out and shamelessly plugs away to get people to join (he did it to a guy selling his G60 the other week - and I think it may even have worked!!!). I just don't think it's viable for 2 forums/clubs to coexist for what is now a very limited car. The fact the forum is free to join means it's always going to trump the CCGB and has the numbers in active members to back it up.
  21. Just arrived in Leeds ready for the morning. My God! What a horrible drive! Why are there 20 miles of roadworks and 40mph limit (although traffic barely moving), yet there wasn't a single friggin workman on the whole thing! Ahhhhhhggggg 6 hours to get here, reminds me why I don't like travelling this far for shows etc.
  22. This is perfect timing for me, coming off the road next week in preparation for the Underside refurb over the next few months. :thumbleft:
  23. Gutted for you mate. I guess it's just bad luck mate, no one could have envisaged this happening and like you though not to such an extent I've been stung with a car just a couple of years old. You just don't expect it.
  24. Storm envy eh Jim.............
