Exactly, short term policies are horrendously priced compared to the full term. I'd say just get a full year put minimal mileage. If you pay monthly you could cancel mid term, just check T&Cs to make sure you don't get stung with cancellation fees.

Drop links maybe. May as well do the rear beam bushes to complete the set! Don't forget geometry and alignment after all that though.

I bought a cheap 240v impact gun in the end to do mine too Jim. Thought sod it, it'll come in handy further down the line I anyway. Was only about £50 iirc

109 can't be right, going from what you've just said that's like 40% down.

I thought 160 was the lower limit, but all being 140 psi is certainly low, and the 120 is very poor tbh. Mine when last tested were between 165-175 for instance, on an engine with 148k and zero internal or gasket work in its history.

1.1 kOhm iirc. Easy to check but if its intermittent it may not be cut and dry. The ECU will store fault codes though so if you get the codes read on VCDS it should be much more definitive.

I've had quite a few policies through AF. I've had an (non fault) accident on one policy, and currently have it with an agreed value. All of which have been very good. When you have a claim you deal directly with the insurer. AF take some details then pass you on which is a little long winded admittedly, but for the sake of much cheaper premiums (more than half in some cases) I don't mind spending an extra 5 minutes of my time doing it. I'd recommend them based on my experiences, but thats just me.......................

Aaron's VR6 - is now R32'd - that sweet, sweet noise! (Page 20)

Forgot to add, once it's up to temp (90) shut the engine off and let it cool. Top up if required when cool, and put expansion cap back on. Job done! -

Run up to temp with the expansion tank cap off, and massage the hoses when it starts getting hot. I tend to rev it to about 2.5k rpm for 30 secs the idle for 30 secs whilst massaging. Never once had a problem on any car doing it this way. -

Just a coilpack I reckon, nothing too major. -
Obsolete and absolutely as rare as hens teeth! Think I've seen 2 sets for sale in the last 4 years! This thread is 3 years old btw.

That metal surround is aftermarket. Think it's probably just stuck down so if you want rid just peel it off mate.

You've hit the nail on the head with all of them I reckon. Only other thing where the water leak could be coming from is the "Crack pipe" which runs along the front of the block and feeds into the water pump. These are common problem areas so worth investigating that before water pump I reckon.
-
Yeah I did mine with it, it's good stuff but I'd advise getting a couple of extra compressed air tins if using that gun. Gliptone do one too which others have used I believe.

Ebay auction with a reserve or a classified ad mate.

Trouble is Rob if they had a mare getting it in, they may have scratched the paint around the lip. It generally happens on removal when they cut it out. Then don't make good, but it's worth taking the outer trim off and seeing if the rust visibly extends further. It may be dry now, but the water sitting behind the trim will soon rot out the pillar again and water will work it's way in.

There are plenty of fabric dye suppliers, but you'd have to send them a swatch and see if they can match it. Furniture Clinic do it for fabric as well as leather iirc.

National Day - Central South Convoy - Friday
seanl82 replied to JEZR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Jez, I've booked a hotel in Leeds on the Friday night mate, but I'll make my own way up. The wife and kids will be there too so if we need to make an "unexpected" pit stop we then won't break up the convoy. Thanks for the offer mate, and we'll see you there! :thumbleft: -
Mine is broken too but I have a replacement. If you remove the lock mechanism you should be able to see it, as it slots into that. Unfortunately one of the bolts for my lock mech has siezed and I'm in the middle of drilling it out.

Corrado display @ 2016 VW festival

These arrived today. -
Thats fair enough. There may be someone out there willing to pay that. Just bear in mind that those are traders so will obviously hike up the price pretty heavily.
-
What a great list of upgrades you've done there, and I adore the LMs! I remember seeing this at National day at Bruntingthorpe 2014 where it won best car, but I also remember quite a few flaws as you'd mentioned above. Glad you've addressed them as this is one hell of a good car now! :thumbleft:

Have you replaced the pump? I'd do that before the rack mate.
