I sold my old Coilovers to a guy who put them on a Mk3 Golf, so I'd imagine the other way should be ok. The guy was chuffed to bits with them.

Ever feel like owning a Corrado is like have a disease?

THIS!!!! I must admit I've thought about selling over the last few months, but know it'll just be for something else to tinker with. Who knows what sort of money pit that could end up as, knowing mine has at least been very reliable - even if I have still spent a small fortune on it! -

I'm sorry EJ, I know its different being on the other side but I did have a little chuckle at that. The holiday thing is obviously not funny, but the rest of it and how you've written it made me laugh. :bonk: Chin up mate, you could have a stress free life but drive a Focus and be like the majority of the wet farts who lives to work rather than work to live. You get masses of enjoyment out of it MOST of the time, but remember its just a hobby so don't get too disheartened. It'll come good eventually. -
The B12 setup is superb, it just seems that Eibach has either supplied the wrong spring to Bilstein, or there has been some sort of manufacturing glitch and the wrong markings have been put onto the springs in a certain 'run'. Bilsteins customer service though has been nothing short of attrocious. In fairness, Demon Tweeks have been pretty good in trying to get the issue resolved. I'll just have to wait and see how it pans out over the next couple of weeks.

Sorry for the confusion, I got the numbers mixed up. I have 3002 fitted but need 2002.
-
This is the post I used as reference, and linked it into an email as further evidence for Eibach. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?80155-Corrado-Part-Duex-24V-Aqua-Blue-She-s-gone&p=1091997&viewfull=1#post1091997 I have the 3002 set fitted, but believe it should be the other spring set sent out in this link (2002). As you can see, its clearly longer.
-
Me too, although the ones I have fitted are the ones you had as replacements. I used SeanJaymos thread as a reference, and I've just provided part numbers and measurements to Bilstein via Demon Tweeks. Will see how it pans out.......

Think a Moderator has to approve it before going live when you have a low post count. It'll be up shortly I suspect mate.
-
The only modification from early to late and visa versa is the switch plug for the window iirc. Should be easy enough to sort if fitting to an early car.
-
Bit daft posting the speeds you were going at, but yeah extended periods at those revs will get the oil up there. Just be relieved that it came back down to a steady temp in good time when you eased up.
-
Glad you got it sorted! Out of interest, where did you get a new pump from?

Corrado display @ 2016 VW festival

Anyone received their tickets yet, or know when they're being sent out? Its getting quite close now.............. -
Put the money aside then, and continue to add to it for a while. You'll then have a healthy pot to pull the engine out at the same time when its required, and give it a real good spruce up and make it mint! Or you could just blow it on a nice set of wheels! haha.
-
No worries. Thats the one listed on ETKA anyway mate.

Corrado display @ 2016 VW festival

11-4 is vehicle lockdown, but I'm aiming to get there for around 9 which gives a good full day to have a good look round. -
Have a look at the Ecu, could be water damaged. It's behind the outer passenger footwell trim. If you take the connector off, inspect the Pins. Water ingress through the fan often runs onto it if you've ever had a leak through the scuttle trim.

Harewood House meeting - what to do if hungry?

I dunno, I've heard strange things about Chris & Matt with regard to sausage though..............  -
The list could grow and grow tbh Chris. If there's nothing that springs to mind or looks in obvious need of replacement, leave it alone unless you're prepared to spend considerably more time and money getting it near mint!

Tis true, very easy job. Made easier for a garage if you remove the parcel shelf supports too, and shouldn't take them longer than an hour or so provided you have all correct parts needed.
-
VW still stock them, and you could get them zinc plated to prolong their life. Its relatively cheap I believe. My plan is to use stainless items on all fixings that aren't load bearing, and get either the existing ones plated if they're in reasonable condition, or get new from VW.

Smaller one is for ESP on the US spec cars iirc, so not connected to UK models. If all seems well at the moment, just monitor it over the next few days to see if it re-appears. If it does, get it scanned as codes will be stored so you should be able to find out what is causing the problem.
-
The light should still go off after a few seconds even when ignition on but car not running. The system does a self test as soon as it gets power, and should go off if it passes. If you push your foot down on the brake when you turn the ignition on, you'll feel it pulse as the valves inside the pump operate. If the light stays on, you can test the resistance of each sensor without removing the wheels, and you can visibly check the ABS ECU plug/pins as they often get water damaged. Other than that its best to get it scanned for faults using VCDS. Where are you located? Maybe someone close by can offer to help you out?
-
Yeah I'd say a connection problem to start. Pull the light unit out, you'll probably see it disconnected. Its probably been done to hide a fault though, so be prepared for further snags.

Are drilled/grooved discs worth having? Peformance pads? Braided hose?
seanl82 replied to MZpog's topic in Drivetrain
I don't think you'll be able to completely cure it Rob, as yours lives outside iirc, so when its when due to rain or you washing, the disks get that surface rust very quickly indeed. As soon as you begin braking it always creates some dust, but shouldn't be excessive. Pagid are the I've found for price, quality and performance by far.
