  1. Yeah, not new, the seller is a breaker. Also mentions that it already has a reg number etched on the glass.
  2. Come on fella.... not replying to PM, not replying to thread, you are on every day pretty much, when are you sending this out? If there is a problem/delay, at least tell me, don't just ignore. Cheers Rick
  3. Hello mate, Has the lambda been sent out yet? Cheers Rick
  4. Looking really good. Almost identical process as what I've been doing on mine. Keep up the great work :)
  5. Just replied to your PM, must be a tapatalk issue with control characters I think. Anyway, payment sent :) Cheers Rick
  6. Hello mate, Can't seem to PM you as it complains about the "tm" bit of your user name, I guess something to do with the control characters to make the writing smaller? :(
  7. Hello mate, will you do £15 posted for the vr6 lambda? Cheers
  8. Looks like I've got the same issue. Mine has just failed on very high CO readings, HC's are fine :( any brands of Lambda to avoid?
  9. Presumably the bearing is well attached and couldn't come adrift with nothing sitting in the centre of it?

Same here, car had 17's when I got it, I've now moved to 16's, much nicer ride :)
  11. That wiper setup on eBay looks like a standard Lupo set with universal type aero blades. They need to be Lupo gti arms and blades.
  12. Cool, book marked that for further investigation another day
  13. Mine doesn't reset the figures (not that i have noticed anyway) but I have to scroll through it every restart to get to the oil temp, is it meant to remember the last setting you were using?
  14. Did all VR's have the pump fitted? Mine hasn't got one, and the pipe work doesn't look out of place or wrong (to indicate there is something missing). Should I fit one back in, or am I ok without it?
  15. Yeah, same tool I have and works perfectly. Might be tight if the brake bias valve to the back is shut (most likely will be if the rear is jacked up). Try clamping it open.
  16. Thanks for the replies all. Stickers were gone on my cam cover unfortunately. However, did eventually find the code on the block, just below the head/block join above the aux belt. Not convinced that it would prove particularly useful as a definate id for the correct gasket though, as it does seem to depend on a plastic or metal cam cover. I believe they are interchangeable, so buy the gasket based on the cover type rather that any codes I would say. The flat gasket for the metal cover, the "T" cross section gasket for the plastic one.
  17. Thanks for the replies. I believe the car has had an engine change at some point, so the sticker is probably wrong unfortunately :( Any ideas where on the block/head the number is? I had a look around it last night, but not knowing if I'm looking for tiny letters under years of dirt means I could've looked straight past it. Plus of course, I may have to remove something to see it. This is where I am at now, anything else need to come off to find it? Thanks
  18. Started work on my engine bay this evening and one of the things that needs sorting is a very minor leaking in places around the rocker cover gasket. When I try and get a replacement, they seem specific and are based on engine number (i.e. > ABV014001 for instance). Where is the engine code? does the plastic or metal rocker cover also make a difference? Thanks
  19. I've got a rosstech cable so can scan any vag car (also have obd2 readers for other cars). I'm in Basingstoke if anyone ever needs a scan.
  20. Ok, thanks. Can't say mine is calm and conservative as it is, makes me wonder what it would be like with the decat :bonk:
  21. Sorry to derail a bit, how much difference does a decat pipe make?My VR came with one in the boot spare, and it has been sat on the shelf in the garage since I got the car, is it worth fitting? Presumably has to be swapped back for MOT time?
  22. Finally got the chance to look at why my VR dumped all its coolant last week. Thought it was the rad (got one on its way to me) but it turns out to be the small water pipe between the crack pipe and oil filter housing. Does anyone have one, or know if VW still do them and rough price? Cheers Rick
