  1. Last I checked, Euro Car Parts sell genunie Hella ones...
  2. Firstly, I am no expert, but... If the lambda wiring was flakey, that could well be causing you issues as the ECU uses the lambda readings to work out how much fuel to put in. The fuel pumps usually whine when they're getting a bit tired - you can hardly hear them at all when they're new. Fuel filters usually get overlooked when servicing the car, so if you're on the original filter that will almost certainly be causing you problems. As they're cheapest thing to replace, I'd start there. You can use VAG-COM to see if the engine's running lean or rich by looking at the lamda values, but it won't tell you why.
  3. Whatever you put in them (Rainbow also do some decent and relatively cheap components) I'd go with the amp. The built-in power-amps in head units are going to struggle to properly drive the 6.5" drivers. The amp itself doesn't have to be anything exciting, 50W RMS (not peak) per channel will do the job. I've got a Genesis Profile 4 Ultra which is probably a bit overkill, but the smaller Profile 4 should do the job nicely.
  4. Looks like a nice squeaky clean valver you've managed to bag yourself 8)
  5. Neons? What do you think this is, some kind of modern motoring? That's a good old filament bulb  But yeah, the theory is you'll notice if your actual lights are on, but the switch lights up to tell you your sidelights are on. As you say, an actual buzzer on the door would have been far more helpful, but then so would a low fuel light  You can get retro-fit light buzzers. There's definitely a guide on how to do it floating about somewhere, but I can't remember if it's on the wiki here or on another site.
  6. Hehe yeah, as I was watching you swearing at those hose clamps last weekend, I was thinking "I wish I'd brought my hose clamp tool... but I think he'll hit me if I tell him right now"
  7. The thing about constant tension is not necessarily constant tension around the pipe, but more to do with expansion/contraction and keeping a constant tension on the pipe. Wouldn't worry too much about it though - if you've got jubilee clips they work too, but this tool makes getting the spring clamps on and off a lot easier :)
  8. Yeah, if you don't have the right tool, they're a complete cnut to get off, but once you do they're easier than trying to get something onto jubilee clips to undo them. The reason manufacturers use them is apparently to eliminate the risk of over-tightening :)
  9. Eek! Not sure about the clamp you're talking about cos I haven't had mine apart, but have you also got some new wire for the motor too? The stuff on mine is big chunky 4 gauge.
  10. Ah cool, good to hear you got to the bottom of this. I might fit the hooky/knobby type one to my new C cos I prefer them. God, people are going to be confused if they ever look at my car - it's got all manner of old and new parts swapped onto it.
  11. Buy one of these Draper RHCP1 Flexible Hose Clamp Pliers 89793.jpg[/attachment:9a8hg9x3] Mine's a Draper RHCP1 Flexible Hose Clamp Pliers 89793 that I bought on ebay for about £25 and it's worth every single penny. I think there are other branded ones that do exactly the same thing as well. The metal bracket fits on the spring clamps and the wire runs back to a ratchet handle that you can open the clamp with. They come off in a matter of seconds with no swearing or mashed fingers. Bloody fantastic.
  12. Think you're gonna need more than paint to make that Goof look like a real car ;)
  13. ROFL - those are brilliant! You reckon they'll deliver in time for the RR day tomorrow?
  14. I reckon they'd actually look pretty good
  15. Sounds like a fappin ace job! No doubt there's gonna be some long nights and crazy hours ahead, but I'm I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time and a huge amount of fun. You git
  16. I've had my completely standard VR sit at 155 on ze autobahns, but it's all irrelevant as my mum has a bigger willy than all of you so therefore Corrado is bestest. It does seem like a bit of a silly question to ask on a Corrado forum... you're gonna get some sensible answers but nobody that's bought a Corrado is going to think that a Fiat or 944 is better because they'd own one instead and would be on the Fiat or 944 forums.
  17. Hehe, good work that man
  18. If you've got a fine-tipped soldering iron, it's really not that hard to do. There's a (quite long) guide on the Corrado Club of Canada site here - http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5996 that's pretty good :)

    JMC's G60

Sounds like it's gonna be a bit of a beast once it's run in! 8) AFAIK - The Shrick sump is baffled?
  20. I dunno if there's a product called Rim-Wax, but certainly waxing your rims will make them a darned sight easier to clean - the brake dust just wipes right off.
  21. Oh man, that's some seriously crappy luck :( I'm uber paranoid about my amp power lead - it's got a fuse at each end to stop exactly that happening. From looking at that picture, there must have been either a stupidly high-rated fuse or bolt in that fuse holder for that to have happened. I've popped the fuse on mine before, so I know it'll pop way before anything gets hot and that's a 40 amp fuse!

    my 16v beeping

It's the oil pressure alarm. You should get an accompanying flashing red light, but it's possible that's broken. I'd be looking at getting a baffled sump and/or replacing the oil pump ...
  23. I'd only go there with company. For some reason I just can't help but think it'd be like a scene from Deliverence if I went there by myself. You have to drive pretty much right past my front door to get to Chez. Toady from your place, Jim so I can tag along as backup :)
