They look like Borbet Es to me.
-
Er what engine is it?
-
It could be that the temperature has distorted one of the ABS cages, or dislodged a sensor. I really wouldn't do a track day with the ABS running though as you're likely to cook the ABS pump. It's designed to be used every now and then and using it every few seconds on the track will likely damage it. The best way to disable it is to just yank a sensor wire - one of the ones on the front suspension struts are the easiest to get to.
-
Not that came from a Rallye or Corrado. Misc Fords had them in though, so you might be able to transplant one of those. You'd almost certainly need to fudge the subframes to get them to fit tho.
-
I don't think you can to be honest... Aye. But I guess if you want cheap, you could strip the interior out apart from the driver's seat - that'd save a fair amount of weight and make things a bit more spritely
-
You should be fine in this country - it doesn't really get all that cold. I might be a bit concerned if you lived in Norway tho...
-
Champion - thanks for all the work :)
-
I managed to get my standard ones out with some extremely careful prising with a screwdriver, but they were pretty loose in the holes anyway. Otherwise, not sure - maybe get some pliers on the end that spring-clips in place and give 'em a pull?
-
Bah - 50/50 chance and I got it wrong. Seems like a bit of a waste of time if it's electric height only - but I guess it's cool to say you've got electric seats
-
They're push fit - one end of the repeater has a hook, the other has a kind of springy tab. Could be a bit of a bugger to get out, but the new ones just hook and push-fit. Once you get one in your hand, it's pretty obvious :)

On a VR you've got 3 tuning options: Shrick/VSR VGI Shrick 268 or similar cams (not sure if it's worth doing until you've done the inlet) Forced induction F/I is by far the best 'bang for your buck' as it were, but a VGI and set of cams is slightly less mental option (but probably no cheaper than a supercharger). Failing that, go buy yourself a 2.8 24v for a few hundred quid and chuck that in instead.

For me these dont get any better, but what do they come with adjustment wise? Rallye ones have electric back tilt only, the rest is manual - no idea what colours they came in. Corrado ones have electric back and uh base up and down and manual slide back and forwards - came in black, grey or cream leather or black cloth with slightly contrasting black squares pattern, dark grey with a red vertical stripe or lighter grey diagonal pattern with light blue stripes in it. I should really be geeky and collate photos of the cloth Corrado Recaro seats...

'tis definitely moulded plastic. Pretty hefty duty plastic mind, but still plastic. I agree with you on the spoiler mech tho - it's flimsy as hell!
-
The Rallye ones do look much cooler tho...
-
Isn't the Corrado one plastic?! Yeah it is  I hear axes work well Chris...

Looking much better 8) Just remember the pads take a while to bed in, so they're gonna be like using 2 bits of butter on the disk for the first few miles - don't expect them to work amazingly straight away. Once they do bed in you'll be shoving your face through the windscreen tho

I'm not sure about the valvers, but on the VRs - the box of relays kind of floating in the engine bay around the side of the engine/battery area are the relays (and possibly fuses) for the fan controller. The fans come on at different speeds - I think the VRs have a 2 speed controller, but not sure about the other models. The fans kick in at 98 then go mental at 104 on the water temp gauge IIRC, so it's already pretty toasty before they do anything. They're also supposed to stay on for a few seconds after you park up too. If the fans aren't coming on at all then it could be simply because the engine isn't hot enough, but I'd do a search for "+fan +speed" or similar to see what you can find. The fan controller uses one of the 3 coloured temp sensors (blue, yellow and black) in the coolant system and the most common fault generally seems to be that. They're about £5 from VAG so not too expensive, but can't remember which one it is off the top of my head. It's definitely not the blue one and I have a feeling it's the black one, but please do check with the search cos I could well be wrong!

Get in touch with the Financial Ombudsman and they'll wade in for you. Just threatening your insurer with calling them may get you a result. Edit: Aye, what Dec said
-
I've no idea at all on the specifics, but I'd imagine this is no harder to do than a 20vT install. You will need to run the VAG ECU tho, because I don't think there are any aftermarket ECUs for TDIs. I'd also suggest fitting a decent stereo so you can drown out the diesel clatter  Seriously tho - they don't half shift and you'll get uber mpg too 8)

Ouch, that sounds like it's been a bit of a mission! The only time I've been to Dubai was in the winter so it was 18 degrees  but a couple of guys from work have been out there around now when it's 50 in the shade. It's madness I tell ye! :D Would be great to see some pictures of your AC install and new engine mount tho.
-
So how are you getting along with this? Manage to get the AC in or the engine running?
-
It begins with S and ends in earch?
-
They're stainless steel, but if there's acid in the tree leaves they'll etch the metalwork which must be a pig to get out :S
-
Makes you wonder doesn't it :? Glad it's all sorted tho! :)
