  1. Mobil 1 Creamflow brings a whole new league of meaning to the "show some love" thread  Search should be back on form in another few hours.
  2. "of"? Are you going to be sampling the various secretions of the engine? I'm hopefully fixifying the search now, so all should be better. However, in the mean time - the Silky seems to be pretty damned good (and pretty damned expensive), I use Synta Silver in mine and just change it more often. The VAG filters seem to be pretty good, but probably no harm in trying others. Just be sure to get the right one with a one-way valve in it otherwise you could run into trouble.
  3. Sounds a bit strange and definitely worth calling. Just bear in mind that it could be some sort of elaborate scam so be wary if they start asking you for too many personal details.

    Corrado Doors....

So mine probably do weigh nigh on 40kg with the Audioscape stuff and sound deadening :(

    Corrado Doors....

I'm gonna bid somewhere in the region of 40kg if it's still got the glass in it, but I could be wrong. Can you stick it on some bathroom scales and see what they say...?

    Recaro badges.

The only logo on the standard Corrado Recaros is either embroidered as per the cloth seats, or indented into the leather.
  7. It's one of the main engine coolant pipes - so yeah, won't be helping things if it's spewing water. They're something like £36 from VAG I think :(
  8. I don't think the VAG W16s are produced like that, I'd imagine they're cast and machined as, veedub says. I'd guess they've made that video to demonstrate what the machine can do.
  9. Cool - just imagine how many hours that must have taken! Also - talk about a gnat's chuff clearence between those cylinders
  10. Well it sounds like you've got AC then. The UK Corrados had dealer-fit AC systems made by Diavia, so you won't have a specific AC control panel as such, just 2 buttons with "Norm" and "Max" written on them...
  11. I wouldn't do a thing to it... including buy it in the first place
  12. There's certainly not a screw valve there on a standard VR and it is the type of fitting usually put onto AC pipes for recharging. The extra radiator and compressor will be the give away though. If you're not sure, post up a pic of your engine bay and it should be easy enough to tell.
  13. I was under the impression that it was only supposed to run-on if the water was hot. Either way, if it's making a rattly grindy noise then it's time for a new one and they're not cheap :(
  14. I park outside my flat on the quiet road and walk to work, which also has ample car parking for everyone, so I reckon you're all a bunch of whingers
  15. You know I reckon it's probably not far off under all that disguising... they do call it disguise for a reason
  16. Somewhat ironic when you consider the original mission and appeal of VWs was to make cheap, practical cars "for the people"...
  17. Be warned if you put new, standard height dampers and/or springs on then it's gonna sit very high. (think a 4" gap between top of tyre and bottom of wheel arch).

    Wheel Colour Q?

Spoken like a true Cabby hairdresser... Will look too much like your schmidts then Does any-one have a decent pic of Henny's Grey one on C's? For photoshopping? Nothing wrong with pink. Especially as you're a Cabby hairdresser too ;)

And as this thread seems to be turning into yet another exhaust thread, I'm gonna lock it and politely request further discussion on exhausts goes in The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread! :)
  20. Ok, good stuff... hmm that parts cupboard is getting rather full - I really should fit some of them to the car
  21. So are you sorted on the headlight front then? I shall shove mine back in the cupboard if so :)
  22. Nah - don't PM me I can't get them any more cos I moved house  Have a look in your Yellow Pages (paper one is best, the online one is pants) for a "fixings" retailer near you - they should be able to get what you want. As said - you can probably find the hex-head versions, but cap-heads seem to be easier to get hold of.
