  1. Dont know about an MOT failure but they are not too hard to change - just make sure you get a splitter and a big hammer! (Tracking will need adjusting afterwards so its worth doing both sides for piece of mind)
  2. Holy crap Batman! Bet you could get it cheaper than that too if you hunted around a bit
  3. Sounds like rear wishbone bushes to me and £227.40 is a hell of a lot as new wishbones complete with bushes are not that expensive!
  4. Wonder what happended to that pre-production car then?
  5. Ah the masses are hungry for this one, can't wait to see it!

    New Rugs!

Yes they do do just 16v ones as standard - I had to have mine made up as a custom job.

    New Rugs!

I know its a little premature as I don't have the engine in yet but I couldn't resist fitting them as soon as I got them. Another thumbs up for Just Matz as far as I am concerned!
  8. You won't need the spring compressors if you are using coilovers as you should get new nuts and spring discs with the coilover kit. You changing the top mounts too?
  9. RB that sounds like a do it yerself impact wrench to me.. ..top tip but I would use a rubber mallet to save your socket handle. Can I also be anal and point out that all alloys do corrode, just in the case of pure aluminium it provides a protective layer against oxidisation. And no, nothing you will ever buy will be pure aluminium it will always be an alloy of some composition usually consisting of magnesium and copper. Cadmium coating helps but this only provides a sacrificial coating to corrode instead of the steel - cad corrosion is also highly carcinogenic (looks like a fine white/grey powder) So as such mk 4 calipers will corrode and potentially sieze in time. Little :offtopic1:

    Wiper arm mod

OK here are the part numbers for the new wiper arms: Right wiper arm (Should be drivers side) 536 955 410A at £29.61 inc VAT Left wiper arm from Sep '91 536 955 409B at £28.99 inc VAT Left wiper arm up to Sep '91 536 955 409A at £25.29 inc VAT Makes the lupo conversion quite cheap when you consider that just pays for some new arms! I find that a good set of blades (Bosch) and a spoiler on each one makes a difference to the performance of the wipers.
  11. Yeah the downside of that is when you get clamped by some overzealous git.. Even with a badge on they probably would have got it wrong, although you may have enjoyed the many different attempts at pronounciation of the word 'Corrado' :D
  12. You can be fined for not sorning a car unless it was off the road prior to when sorn came in and has not been back on the road since. Your right to go with the transporter Baz, luton is a ibt far to get away with a drive back.
  13. Yeah I went in a unsorned my rado just prior to BVF (day before)and was told 'We don't need those anymore' Mind you its probably as much a classic case of left hand right hand..
  14. Yup try here: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... category=1 Nice set of H&R's
  15. The usual split is that 16v/G60 suspension kits are the same and the VR ones are different due to it being heavier. You may have the wrong kit/s as the VR springs are usually a bit stiffer than the 16v/G60 ones.
  16. They don't use the V10's anymore. I found out after I had filled one in at my Post Office when I got to the counter. They do like to have the SORN notification as you should get a letter through the post confirming it when you originally reply. If you need an MOT you will need to prebook as already mentioned and the car must be insured for the journey to clarify that one. RW1 the law is more than a bit vague on how far you can go to a testing station. I think you would have a hard time justifying going more than 50 miles but you could easily say that this was the nearest MOT station that had an available appointment at short notice etc. Comes down to the plod on the day; assuming they even stop you.
  17. Had fully synthetic in mine since about '92 (Got the receipt somewhere in a file) and it works just great; nice smooth change up and down. Redline MTL 90 did make a huge difference in my mates mk II golf though.
  18. You can fit mk 4 to as VR as they use the same stub axle and caliper carrier assembly as both the G60 and the 16v. Sorry to hear you are having yet more grief mate.
  19. Holy crap! The lotus driver must have been watching the prelude spinning at him in slow motion like a startled rabbit in the headlights! Made me laugh at the end of the vid where you can hear the prelude driver put the hand brake on
  20. WaReZ is basically dodgy software that has been cracked or hacked. Also see pwned, pr0n, loot and haxors for more sillyness. It's like using smilies or 2nite etc while texting but for geeks. As for fog lights been said before on many threads but they are for when the visibility is less than 50m and that doesn't mean at night either  Fine for you but have some consideration for every other road user you are half blinding, not as bad as the idiots who dont turn off their rear lamps when someone comes up behind them though
  21. IIRC you can get away with over a ton in court if you can prove that you need your car to maintain your living; the same applies to other over the limit offences. The problem with that is that it is down to the magistrate on the day.
  22. Classic argument against cameras. They don't pick up all the bad driving habits or pi55ed up wankers. Speed kills is only half the story, you always have to throw in another factor so I prefer inappropriate speed for the conditions.
  23. That is an interesting article, only a 22 gallon tank!!
  24. Looks good in the picture but not so sure about it in the 'steel' so to speak.
