  1. no worries Ian i did not think you were being ignorant mate, but i just think your under estimating how much power you will/should get out of your engine. and yeh i have a flexi welded on the de-cat pipe. and i have borrowed a wideband so i can play with the ECU this weekend, after the re-map i will invest on a PLX wideband system, i was looking at this unit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PLX-devices-SM-AF ... 240%3A1318 and cheers for the thought Chris but i can think of much better things to spend money on than a private plate, there just not my style. karl
  2. cheers guys its still gonna be off the road 4 a while as gotta make it legal
  3. just really repeating what Kev said but yeh the standard r32's have sooo many emmisions controls as standard that when they are re-moved it really changes the engines performance figures, i read about a mk3 r32 that was tuned at road and rally on an emerald set up, and they got 288bhp 272lb after the re-map, and they were using some bodged downpipe unlike my dubpower work of art downpipe. i think you will see 300bhp easilly enough Ian with a good re-map even on the standard ecu with the cams.
  4. finally got it fitted then eh chris, i would suggest that you block about half the cooler at this time of year as the oil will be very cold if you dont, and when its warm open it all up so the oil gets colder.
  5. trust me it sounds even better when your standing next 2 it 8) and i dont think it's gonna be having a turbo shaun
  6. heres some really nice brakes http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=171494 the guy whos selling them's a bit slow to answer questions etc etc, but for £450 there a chuffing bargain
  7. i should see more than that i think?? due to the standalone's greater tuning capabillites. but to be perfectly honest anything around 280bhp in N/A form is alot quicker than the 295bhp i had when it was charged, the r32 just has sooo much more low down torque than the 12v 8) are you not gonna take your old engine out and get the r32 ready yourself Ben, or you leaving it to stealth to do the lot?? i have nooo problem coming over and offering you some assistance if you wanna do the actual install yourself.
  8. looks like a nice one :) and i do love that colour. as for a name?? what about HAMM. which stands for Have All My Money
  9. http://www.corradoclub.org/images/stori ... rlsR32.MP4 heres the vid that Dave (1 of my 3 stars from yesterday :D ) took on he's camera, its loud at the moment as i have gotta go and attach the exhaust again, but it sounds just fooking awesome 8)
  10. well to say i'm happy after today is an understatment :D i could not be happer even if keira knightly walked up to me dropped to her knees and took me in her mouth :D today Kev,Dave and Graham popped down to my car to give it a look over to see what the problem was?? Kev turned up at 8.15 this morning  bloody nutter  due to he's alarm on he's phone going off an hour earlier than he thought because he had forgot to change the time on it. Dave and graham turned up at about 10ish. so after coffees and fags they all started to have a nose around the wiring, they then discovered the wiring to the TPS was for some reason different to all other vr's?? i can get technical as i dont have a clue about wiring :( but after some soldering, scratching heads my car is now a working corrado r32 :D it neads a proper re-map doing though so i will be taking it for re-mapping very very very soon, i'm hoping that by the end of next week it will MOT'd taxed and insured. i cannot put into words how gratefull i am to you guys, if there is ANYTHING i can do for you JUST ASK, i will do it. cheers guys karl :notworthy:
  11. what you after mate, i know someone with a full s3 haldex set-up for sale :)
  12. What - no nurses? :norty:  Well i was planning on taking my nurse outfit :camp: no thanks rob :pukeright: but you can let ya sister dress up if ya like. i will pm you the postcode to where the car is later mate.
  13. well i have opted for the cable method for operating the TB, but i cant get the bloody thing to work properly :( The Phirm have been great though and have said if i cant get it running just to get it down to them on a trailor, but they are miles away 160ish miles to be exact :( BUT i have some brains coming to look at it for me on saturday, namely crazydave and nemisis360 and possibly cheeswire i trust these guys 100%, and they have far more brain power than me when it comes to wiring, so i'm sure they will be able to sort it for me :) roll on saturday
  14. do it Struan, i have driven about 5 a3 3.2s recently and everyone of them has been a joy to drive, they are also loads cheaper to insure than the less powerfull mk4 r32, i was getting quotes of approx £410 per year F/C for the A3, while the golf's cheapest quote was £680  obviously because all the baseball wearing wankers are getting into the golfs :(
  15. exactly what Zak said, but if theres a wheelmania by you?? get some bolts from there as when i needed some new ones they only charged me £1.20 per bolt.
  16. how much you got to spend?? i actually went to look at this very car last week http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-53-Audi-A3-3 ... 240%3A1318 its 100% legit, i even did an HPI report on it and the guy is open to offers around 6.5k, next year i'm going to get one and then decide where the pagparts manifold will go.
  17. so you built that hump after a night on the lash, and then only 5 hours sleep  if i had even attempted anything like that after a session it would not end up looking anything like what it was supposed to. yet again i will say, "awesome constructing skills" :notworthy:
  18. also what suspension you going for?? this will have a huuuuuuge affect on the handling, i have had fk ak's :pukeright: koni colovers/H&R coilovers both of which were very good, but i have the weitec tx's at the moment which are the best i have had so far, also all the kw's are excellent also.
  19. personally i would stay away from them, as even the slightly heavier ultraleggera's have been prone to hairline cracks on the spokes.
  20. That is cool and I respect what you are doing, but for most people myself included an R32 conversion would be around £4.5k For that money (or less) I have already decided if my engine ever gets beyond repair I will be going for one of these high performance blocks http://www.eurospecsport.com/products/e ... vr6-2v.htm £4.5k for an r32 conversion  i must be doing very very well then, at the moment i'm in pocket by £900 after selling my old engine and the bits i bought for the rotrex/turbo conversion i was going to do. and that includes the 12k r32 engine/dubpower 6 branch/kevs old DTA/paying The Phirm for the splicing/and everything else i have bought. but i'm very very jammy though :D
  21. i miss my old 46k 12v :( at least with that in the car it bloody ran  i keep on getting told that when the r32 is running properly i will love it, but when i had 95% of the parts ready for either the rotrex or turbo sitting in front of me, then i decided to use my "spare" engine instead, at the time there were about 5ish r32 corrado's about?? by the end of this year there will be more r32 corrado's than vrt corrado's. did i do the right thing?? time will tell i suppose. karl
