BRAKE CALIPER removal and refitting on a VR
Louie Lungbubble replied to DEL VR6's topic in Drivetrain
Took one of my front calipers off 2 weeks ago to investigate an odd noise, and yep, those 2 bolts are in super-tight. (3 LB mallet job just to break them) But once they're off the bolts and attached only by the pipe, you could easily tidy them up. (They don't reach to the floor when on the pipes though, so you'll need to balance em on the dog's back while you hammerite away) -
Sorry to hear that mate. Nightmare scenario. Suppose this bloke's gonna get a sharp introduction to the cost of Corrado body parts soon then?

Who hell he?? Red L reg blasted past me going up the steeeeep hill from the navigation pub toward St John Rigby College in Gathurst, last night. Tried to flash my lights then realised I was on foot! :| -

Was on the M Sixty-Something-or-other, (the one where you come off, and find yourself by the Reebok stadium) on Saturday afternoon. Had a wavey moment with a Burgundy (Lovely colour, that :D) L reg VR. Come on...... Anyone? -
I'm no expert on the Corrado sunroofs, mate. But yes. I'd say that's bad!
-
Congratulations. No doubt I'll be reading the same thread soon. The slide mechanism on mine gave a "Click" the other day before opening!

Pah... New fangled wormhole nonsense. You try takin one of those to your local garage when it goes tits up. Sharp suck of breath through teeth all round methinks. Me? I'm sticking with my mate Albert's thoery!

Check the sub atomic baffles on your warp drive core. Same thing was happening to mine.

Heh Heh... That site's gonna turn into a new members gallery! http://www.ismycarhotornot.co.uk/16011.htm

Dunno about the lights, but I hope that's the boot lid half up at the back, and not a spoiler!!

  I keep seeing a Blur VR knocking about where I am, which is owned by a laydeee. (Reg number is ** LUV) Not sure she appreciates the fact it's a bit of a "club" though, as everytime I've passed her and given the old thumbs up sketch, she's completely blanked me. Either that or she's just a miserable sod!

Saw a purple M reg valver with thin spoked wheels parked up on the A61 somewhere in Leeds today. (Yes, I was lost) Nay-one in it to wave at though. :? Any takers?

Just got my motor back from the garage after an occasional grinding/rubbing noise started from the front end. Knew it wasn't the brakes, thought maybe a bearing, or even a ball joint had collapsed, causing something rotating to touch on something else. Garage diagnosis was that my rear engine mount is shot and something or other is making contact. This now makes sense as to why the noise would disappear under acceleration, as I suppose the engine would rock away from whatever it's touching on. My question is gentlemen, what could it be that's rubbing from a goosed rear mount? I'm (supposed) to be going to Yorkshire tomorrow, and would love to go in mine as opposed to the G/F's motor. Dont wanna be killing my baby though. (The car, not me bird)

An easy way to chav up my motor. Yay!

  Seems they noticed all the emails of praise for the C we sent them!

chrishills silver vr6 - the wheels are on!

Nice looking motor that, mate. Hope you have much fun with it. (And try to keep hold of your licence) -
http://www.disklok.com Someone was boring the kecks off me in the pub once with facts and figures about how these withstood attack for 3 times longer than the next best lock, so I think they are the ones to go for. The UK factory that makes them is only down the road from me, but Halfords were knocking them out £10 cheaper than they wanted at their sales counter. Figure that one out! (Still 70 odd quid though)

I hope so, cos there's wires running from mine. Maybe it's some sort of booby trap waiting for me to touch em and get zapped!
-
Ermmmm....... Are we all, er, improper members?   First off mate. Your car looks pretty 8) . Apart from you having a funkier badge on the front grille , it looks a lot like mine does in its (dark burgundy?) colour, with the 4x4 original suspension stance at the back! Have a good think about those VW stickers on the doors, though. Welcome aboard (finally) matey. :)

I had a bit of remote Corrado spotting the other night, via the girlfreind.... Dark blue VR6 somewhere southbound on the M6 between Preston and Wigan. I asked her.... "Whereabouts were you when you saw it?" "The slow lane" Ahhhh, it's a shame for them isn't it?
