Squealing noise from disc/pads, behind drivers wheel.
coolrado replied to CIPO's topic in Drivetrain
sounds like the disks are knackered but you could try a thin layer of copper grease on the back of the pads NOT ON THE BRAKING SURFACE to stop the squeeling. do you have anti squeel plates on the back of your pads ? -
yep i changed mine using the arms with the pre-fitted bushes and it only took a couple of hours. could you not just order the arms with the pre-fitted bushes and find a garage or mechanic to fit them for you? or if you dont mind getting your hands dirty do it yourself it really is quite easy http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_suspension.html £38.81 each side i also changed my bottom ball joints at the same time and combined it made a big improvement to the handling

the pins out of scart plugs are handy for repairing the corroded pins (about the only thing scart cables are any good for)

just found this display driver http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mod ... D=&doy=5m4 in maplin and it appears to do the same job but is self regulating so shouldnt need the extra regulator, the one listed on that scirocco page in the original guage is LM3914N but the one from maplin is LM3914N-1 or is the voltage regulator just to keep a constant reference voltage ?

has the head gone or just the head gasket?

under the influence on the chemical brothers surrender album has a pretty good smooth bass drop near the beginning which is very handy for revealing any gaps in your frequency range it sweeps from quite a high pitch to sub sonic bass  so you can watch you sub trying to jump out of its box, just dont turn it up too loud as its claimed many subs before

also check the seal that runs along the top of the scuttle panel is intact as if its missing or not sealing against the bonnet it will allow engine smells to enter the interior fan inlet

the assesor come out on monday to have a look at it and its all been approved for repair  but i was in town on saturday just sitting in the car in the car park having a bite to eat, and i noticed a woman in an s reg clio reversing towards me i was thinking shes getting close, but then she stopped so i breathed a sigh of relief but then she starts reversing again and hit me quite hard then pushed me forward about a foot  i quickly jumped out of the car and she was about to drive away so i jumped in front of her and she stopped got out and said "oh sorry was that your car" to which i replied yes it in my f***ing car and you just reversed into it and she just said "oh i only passed my test 2 days ago sorry" after a long stream of expleitifs from me and several apologies from her i said your lucky its already going in for repair after the last ***** **** drove into it i just hope its not going to be one of those things that come in three's i also asked the bodyshop how much he could do a full re-spray for and he said about 1k if i remove all the trim so i might be getting that done soon

they dont really drive like most vw's though even though they are based on golf and passat bits they have a unique feel to them. comfortable yet sporty and chuckable the easiest way to convert you would be take a look at the galleries on here 8) they can be costly to maintain but not as costly as the g60 or vr6 as the chargers cost a lot to repalce if they go bang and need to be overhauled every 60k to stop them going bang and the vr's lump can cost a lot to repair as well but if they are well maintained they are very rewarding

demon tweeks do several different tail pipe trims to be welded on allthough your powerflow dealer should be able to get hold of something for you

they have to be able to identify you to sue you  just make sure the first blow ensures they cant identify you

there is a very cheap way of de-catting if you have a knackered cat or dont mind killing a good one. just smash the internals of a standard one out with a big metal bar
