  1. You may well find that someone in their wisdom disconnected something to make it easier to fit the droplinks. I wouldn't, but you never know. Say they disconnected the hub from the strut to let the wishbone move easier, and jsut flung back together, your camber will be all over the place, and the tracking by default. def worth checking.
  2. Deal :) Drop me PM with Paypal or bank details tmrw and will transfer. Royal Mail would be better for me if possible as can collect locally. Cheers, J
  3. Have been doing about 20-25k a year in mine for last two years, although that includes a trip round France and one out to Bosnia. The driving position is perfect for me, much prefer it to anything else I've ever had. Hopefully hit 200k by end of the year :)
  4. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as your car is safe, that's the main thing. If he way handing out passes for dangerous cars - that's another thing.
  5. Hmmm Noise from back of block - could this be the secondary water pump? I'm sure mine goes on with the ignition even when cold and sometimes gurgles a bit? Rear, RHS of the engine looking at it from the front. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key first time? How long does it run for? Does it prime the second time, and again, how long does it run for? If it runs for a second and stops, suggests there is pressure, but def worth doing the FPR anyway. When you say it doesn't start first time - is this regardless of how long you crank?
  6. Don't forget the pulley bolt is reverse threaded :)
  7. Only sold for what it's worth. Wish I'd spotted it! :)
  8. Welcome to the forum. Your ad lacks some essential details like what was wrong with the ECU, who fixed it and what did they do to fix it? Has it been running in a car since you got it back? Also, where are you located - given you have no track record on here, many people if wishing to pay £120 for an ECU might prefer to pickup?
  9. That's me just home. Had a great day, weather was brilliant. Thanks for sharing pics Craig, really interesting. I love old pics like that. My partner is from Prestwick, so makes even more interesting. Imagine seeing Concorde at PWK! Coullstar, I very much get your point about lack of investment from the forces. The Chinook display was brilliant, as was the Vulcan. The RAF seemed to lack quite a bit of hardware. Would not have been so long ago we'd have had Tristars, Nimrods, Dominies, Jaguars, Harriers and a Canberra. There wasn't even a Herc present, or a C17, which was disappointing in more ways than one. No doubt they are all operational, but if the RAF cannot spare a couple, they must seriously be lacking in budget. I still cannot believe they chopped up all the new Nimrods. Ah well...the Yanks gave us a blast past with a B52 which was good!
  10. thanks Bill, parked up in a big parking area at West Sands. Had a nice fish supper earlier! Hopefully weather is still good tmrw!
  11. I can't wait to see the Vulcan. I saw her take off from Robin Hood last year, but never seen a full show. My parents told me that I've actually been to Leuchars before when I was wee but I don't remember it. I visited once when I was in the UNi Air Squadron, but it was a quiet day and I was just colelcting peices of uniform. Weather forecast is looking good. Just need to find somewhere to camp - all the sites are full, so will be wild camping. Hopfully find a quiet side road with a layby near the water. Going to try West Sands Road, but I've heard they have no camping signs. ---------- Post added at 11:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 AM ---------- Pics are brilliant, and really clear too!
  12. Hey, Going to this for my first time, and probably the last show there. Anyone else going? Taking the van up and camping tmrw night to save the drive Saturday. Looks out for my wee blue T25 in the car park!
  13. What is it they say about fools and their money
  14. I do find at lower speeds or tight bits there is too much roll. The Koni's help by stiffeneing them, but can only go so far then ride gets harsh. ARBs are on the horizon, but not decided whether I should go for both and keep handling similar ( i only really want less roll) or just rear and make it less nose heavy - don't want it being tail happy tho. Anyway, nuff from me - sorry for going a bit off topic Chris!
  15. I don't follow - wheels and brakes are unsprung. I know the lighter the better (from experience witH my g60), but surely improved damping wouldn't fix this, just put a sticking plaster on it to try make it feel better?
  16. I once bought a genuine low mileage *cough* Volvo 360 when I was young and not so clued up on cars. Looked perfect, body was immaculate, interior mint. Scrapped it 3 months later after the jack when through the floor when changing the wheels round. Maybe it's because i'm too tight to pay top dollar for a low miler, but most cars I've ever had were high milers and never gave me any grief. 197k on mine, 140k on partners wee Polo 1.4TDi and runs like a dream, 170k on a Mk3 VR, 230k on an old Merc 190. My motto is roughly - if you get in it and it doesn't drive like a dog or look like a dog despite high mileage, it just might not be a dog. :) C'mon the high milers!
  17. I went back to standard height and don't regret it for a minute - although there is slighly more roll on tight twisties, the car is overall so much better, soaks up bump and undulations beautifully as well as getting through deeper snow:) I've got Koni T/As all round which help stiffen it up a bit. Redborbet drove mine and seemed quite impressed with the handling for standard height. The Koni's are beginning to get a bit flaky, will likely go for Bilstein next as always fancied them. I know it sounds obvious, but when you do it, do it all at once them get it setup once. If you do it in stages, you'll have to get the alignment done several times or risk chewing through tyres/sliding off road all the time!
  18. Doh! One going for something like it's true value for once. The day I can get a full kit for under 500 is the day I'll buy one. Not before.
  19. Haha, you're not on your own. My wee car sadly has taken some knocks over the years and the paint is fading and peeling. As much as I'd love it to look mint, it's not on my list of priorities - enjoying driving it is. In that respect, I never skimp. I'll put genuine parts on where possible and make sure she's in fine fettle machanically. Was only when I met a forum member and apologising for how bad she looks that I'd keep saying things like 'Oh yeah, it's got R32 bushes', 'Yeah, I fitted braided hoses', 'Oh, I forgot I'd done the door handle repair', 'I've got a Mocal oil cooler', 'it's got 312mm front brakes', 'I uprated the engine mounts', 'I fitted the tranny tunnel cover kit', 'yeah, I fixed that with the headlight switch repair kit', 'I did the chains, tensioners and tappets when I had the engine out', 'I managed to get some fairly new springs' and so on. Of the above, virtually none you could tell by looking at it, but all of them help make it a really solid car that will go for years. She just looks crap and no-one would pay more than a grand for her :( So in summary, I do what needs done, but not cosmetic or pointless upgrades. I'll join your club :) PS - I do however love tinkering away and doing all the work myself. Corrado is without a doubt the easiest car I've worked on, and I've had 27 other cars!
  20. I'm just bitter because I was too slow to get it :)
  21. Would be a tragedy if that car got modded from standard!
  22. I'll take the heater motor if Bill doesn't want it, Cheers,
  23. The fans on the Corrado are fairly powerful and therefore will likely draw a fairly large current when they start, which would put a load suddenly on the alternator, thus causing the revs to drop. This happens with mine but the revs settle almost immediatly. The reason it happens with mine (I think) is a dodgy fan control module, meannig it doesn't work on speeds 1 and 2, therefore only on 3, hence the drop in revs when it comes on. IF it had gone through speeds 1 and 2, there would not be such a large and sudden draw of current. My thoughts anyway :)
