  1. Boring. As wait until you need to do the bushes or the sensors or the Haldex start playing up. Will make maintaining a Corrado seem like pocket-money costs.
  2. I didn't get fed up of my Corrado, just got a new job and saw something I really fancied. So after 5months and 16k miles in a lovely '99 S4 2.7 Twin turbo, that is faster, more economical, has more grip, arguably handles better, bigger and safer I'm hankering for the Corrado again. The S4 is technically perfect, but has no soul. So, all things going to plan, the Rado is being unretired for a bit soon. I'd put money that if you sold the Rado Jim, within a week you'd think 'Wish I hudnae done that' :)
  3. Thank you to Rams for the caliper seal kit - well packaged and posted pronto! Cheers :) j
  4. Having done this several times, I would recommend taking the engine out with the box and then refit. If not, you'll be squirming about jacking the engine up and down, trying to get the box in from below, which even with a ramp would be hard work. Then try getting it back it. It's awful! The engine is pretty easy to get out, with the only tricky bits being getting the exhaust manifold off and the drive shafts (which are easy with a M12 extended spline tool -awesome thing!) J
  5. I'll take a number light cover please.
  6. I got an email from Capital One offering one for free. I never use it, but it's now in my wallet. Didn't cost anything either :) Quite chuffed!
  7. I'll take this please. Can you PM me details for payment? THanks, J
  8. Big thanks to Purple Tom for my starter motor and responding to my wanted ad! Cheers! J :)
  9. I drove one once and it was like driving a tunnel! Long and narrow...
  10. I always think original looks best, and the colour you have would be nice. Even if you don't stick with the actual original colour, I would recommend keeping it to a proper VW colour for the year. When I see things like Corrado's in Lime Green, I just wince! Same for vans, the wrong colour spoils it a bit for me.
  11. Wendy how long have you had your stove? Have you had any issues with it? I've been round to the showroom for the place you mentioned, the woman is slightly crazy, but very helpful. I keep getting put off by stories of cheap ones, so we're saving for something a bit more. Once you start researching, there's so much to find out and know! Doing it all myself, liner on gumtree for half the price, will fit myself, like Kev says, what builders/roofers charge is just silly.
  12. Easypops sounds like I'll be calling on your soon for hints and tips! Just waiting to try get my stack remortared first tho. Can't wait to get a stove, but need to get everything else prepped first. :)
  13. Hey, Got new pads and discs for the rear of the S4, however the pad doesn't cover the whole of the discs area, about 6mm short. I noticed this with my sisters Polo too but can't remember for the Rado. These are Pagid pads n discs. Is this fairly normal? I know the fronts on the rado cover the whole area of the discs (312 TT's). Anyone else come across this and wondered? Just seems like a waste of disc and that performance would be reduced.
  14. I'm i the process of fitting a burner. Sweep came last week and told me chimney was shot, so need a liner, only 5m thankfully. I can't wait, I'm a bit of a pyromaniac! :)
  15. I'm sure top end Peugeot 406's had the scooshers on the wiper blade as well as Citroen C8's, if that helps. Must be lots of them at scrappies!
  16. This is on my summer list now!Just need to find a long enough and flexible enough pusher/puller that will allow twisting. I'm in an 1890 sandstone tenement. Got the loft space done, but the gaps I'd never done. Now I've read this, I feel motivated to do it! :)
  17. One wheel spinning? Does your ABS work? At lower speeds, there's a diff thingy going on through the ABS which brakes the spinning wheel to bring it in-line with the other side, think it only work at low speeds tho. Make sure your tyres are pumped up too (yes, I know, everyone says let them down, but that's for sand and mud). Mine was great on Toyo's, but awesome on WinterContacts. Would literally go anywhere, depth permitting.
  18. When I worked for Arnold Shark, my boss used to do this. Except he'd take £500 for the car, put £300 in his pocket and put the £200 on the books. He must have made a fortune til he got caught, sacked, then re-employed cos he sold too many cars. Beware Arnold Shark!
  19. haha, I loved it they put his 'camera' in the back with him not the boot. Maybe they had to ask it some questions...lol
  20. In my defence, I was bored in work one afternoon and wanted to see how a clients website worked as we were doing work for them. Was the only pic I had handy. The reactions i get when I wear it reflect pretty much those on here! lol Some point point and ask incredulously if that's my car, some just laugh and think it's funny and others question my sanity. Ah well...long live the Corrado! :)
  21. Got this made last year when they were on something like ' Get a -shirt for a pound' on-line. What'd y'all think?! Cool or sad? I get the urine extracted frequently by non-Corrado loving friends...lol
  22. No but my old T25 van runs quite happily on 50% of Costco's finest @£1 a litre and 35mpg :)
  23. Now you've exposed that it was me who gave them the kerb rash!!
  24. Don't have enough info to pass judgement on this, but looks pretty horrendous. http://inverclydenow.com/news/local/6393-horrific-a8-crash-involves-police-car
