The spirit that we have on here seems to have been missed by the seller. Thankfully not by anyone that should know better. It's the sellers perogative to sell to whoever they want, but that's not how we operate on here...most of us go by old fashioned 'fair play' rules.

very good! It's nice and quite classy. The colour scheme add very much to the professionalism. Good stuff!

i'll need to have a good look later, but could you supply a clutch flexi hose? I can't remember if it has the same connectors as the brake flexi's, will need to check tonight. With 193k, mine must be gubbed, as pedal is softer than I'd like. I've had mentioned I could do the whole line from master to slave in braided, but prefer to keep OE as possible. Thanks, J

Stainless steel engine fittings uprated suspension bolts
jamiehamy replied to swampy's topic in Suppliers Forum
I would be interested in the front hub-strut nuts and bolts and rear beam-shock nuts and bolts. These are available from VW, but the quality is not that great as they deteriorate pretty quickly I've found. Same for carrier bolts for front and rear. And the wishbones bolts mentioned. I'd def be up for a kit as it's one of the areas that annoy me. Nivce new, high quality fasteners will help ensure the car is easy to work on for years a well as preventing the usual issues consequences of rust taking hold on bolts. Great idea :) -
What are 2.9 engines going for at the moment?
jamiehamy replied to Fanjita's topic in General Car Chat
I paid £200 for a 2.9 before without box, and £100 for a box, so think £300 with box is reasonable. I'd be interested in it as a spare if you were nearer! -

I've got to be honest, I think you've shot yourself in the foot here a bit. I totally understand why you're not happy, but consider, the last firm update on this idea was 11th March, with a 'not quite got round to it' message on 23rd April. Given the idea was started in January, no surprise people forgot about it. There was nothing at all to stop a GB feeler going out, as many people requested ages ago, the two things would comfortably ran together meaning a shorter lead time to delivery. I'd happily have gone for one of yours, but I've already committed to the other. Sorry. -
A66 eastbound about 4pm,, blue I think i was going west. Thanks for flash and wave!!
-
I'll have one in black please . Can you pm me details? Thanks J
-
Because it makes me smile when driving back roads or up the west coast. Because it's easy to maintain Because it's been very reliable Because it's the best value for money out there in my opinion when you take everything into account Because it's different Because it has a V6 Because parts are cheap (compared to an Audi S4 for example!) I could go on :)

Why is it only two box systems are for sale when I want a 3?! :(
-
It's been said before, but the VR6 is awful in warm up, just chucking unmetered amounts of fuel in. If you reset your MFA after 2miles, you'd be amazed at how economical a VR6 can be. It's the warm up that's the killer. Maybe fit a second hand Kenlowe preheater is you could find one? Will still use fuel (electricity), but maybe not as much as the equivilant petrol fuel useage? Plus your heater will already be warm and wear on the engine significantly reduced.

PM with you, J

I actually got them on here, with the OEM connectors, so wasn't cheap. I'll try trawl through and find out who I got them from and drop a PM to see if it can be fixed and maybe what caused the issue. The blowing bulbs I just can't work out!

Payment sent, Thanks, Jamie

I had an issue with my upgraded loom that almost resulted in the car going on fire. I'd pulled up at my parents and switched the lights off and headed to the front door. Craig (my other half) told me I'd left my lights on, and I saw the dipped lights were on (actual dipped beam). I checked the switch and all was off and cheked that the ignition switch hadn't stuck but it hadn't. I opened the bonnet and one of the relays was smouldering furiously and buring up the wiring leading to/from it. Fortunately I had a 10mm handy and managed to get the battery disconnected. Had Craig not noticed, I'd have gone inside and pretty sure the car would have gone up. There are fuses on all the relays, but somehow they never tripped? I removed the whole thing and inspected the two other relays which were perfect inside - no sign of moisture, nothing. They were strapped to the battery and the 'right' way to stop any splashed water going inside them. I have never worked out what went wrong, but very wary of buying or fitting another one now - if fuses on the relays don't stop the thing almost going on fire, then not sure what will :( Anyone else had this? Edit - and it kept blowing headlight bubs, at least one a month. Tried cheap and expensive ones to no avail 5 is more than coincidence! :(

Ordered from TPS, picking up this afternoon along with seals for the oil cooler. Happy days. Of course she started first time this morning now it's a lot cooler, but hey, this avoids any more awkward situations! Cheers, J

Oooh, just assumed they`d be obsolete! Will try tps in the morning. Cheers

Hi all, had in intermittent problem with starting, banging the steering cowling softly always worked. Car was roasting today as it's 22degrees here in Scotland, and now will not start. Soooo.. hoping it's the ignition switch, has anyone got one I could buy please? It's a challenge finding somewhere to park with a hill and no-one parking in front of me! Thanks all, Jamie

:( Oh well, exhaust rises back up nearer the top of the list :)
-
Kev, can I be cheeky and register interest in this if KAD doesn't want it? Please :)
-
So now you've done the gearbox, the front and rears will really need to be replaced. and just by good fortune, there is a group buy that is waiting for a few more takers... :) In all seriousness tho, they will make a lovely enhancement, most mounts will be past their best, these ones will tighten up nicely and are a cracking price. 24vRenshaw is running is if you're intetested, J
