If you do it yourself maybe £2-3K You could do it for less if you do what the zeetec turbo boys do and use a decompression plate instead of low comp pistons, megasquirt for the ECU, not sure where you'd get intake and exhaust manifolds they may have to be custom made (also depends on how much space is available and what the original induction system is like. If you did it that way it would be a lot cheaper and you could probably get away without changing cams or doing a full re-build

No reason why not, but to do it properly will cost you more than an engine swop. You'll need low comp pistons, new engine management, intercooler, lots of new pipework, intake and exhaust manifolds, new exhaust downpipe, probably a new set of cams on top of a full engine re-build - as your changing pistons you might as well re-build the whole thing.

Battery voltage should be more than 12.2 with everything switched off. Try running the engine and measuring the voltage before and after turning everything eletrcial on. If the voltage drops significantly then its a dead alternator (assuming everythings wired correctly), although it should be reading 14+v accross the battery terminals with the engine running as supercharged says. If the voltage doesn't drop much then most likely a dead battery. Try turning everything eletrical on with the ignition off - if the voltage drops a lot then its definately a dead battery. If the alternators not been charging it then it may be re-chargeable (fixable) with a decent battery charging system - optimate is a good one.

I wish, its a dutch concourse car - I've always had a thing for mint white 3 doors. Mines lost about 500Kgs and gained about 120bhp :) And the tree, signpost etc etc ;)

Relay clacking? Is your fuel pump dead?

Best bit on the whole car :) Just need a nice ford engine to go with it :)

That scissor sisters track is a right rip off of mashin on the motorway by dj shadow. Well maybe a little bit. Don't listen to it in the car tho, you'll die for sure.

PassionFord.com is definately the best forum for buying and selling pokey ford bits (cossie and RST). I reccomend North yorks RS spares as I've bought quite a lot of stuff off him and he's always got what you want at normal prices (unlike some traders mark ups). Good to deal with too. I'd guess your after an intercooler or some injectors or something like that?

Tracking or a full 4 wheel alignment. Tyres old or new?

Except it hasn't got an engine with a headgasket made of cheese.

OI stop that :nono: I got done doing 95 on the motorway and got a SP50 and it didn't increase my premium at all. -

That shouldn't be right. When i got done for speeding i got absolutely no increase in premium whatso-ever. -
Mmmm, 4 inch pipe exiting just behind the front wheel with no silencer at all :onfire:

Its an arse to do, it really is. I attempted dinkus' and got nowhere. One of the few jobs I couldn't do :( Mind you it did have some fuel in it and was, as you say, bloody freezing.....

Can be done fairly easily. Depends how the cooler is made but re-building the end tanks or cutting some off the core should be ok. Try giving pace products a ring. Google should bring up their contact details.

Dubsport have created an almost 500hp 4x4 Rado VR!!!!!
Scruffythefirst replied to g60Dazzaman's topic in General Car Chat
Thats why the VR is so loved, but its not without its faults - all that extra weight slung out over the front wheels, like a porsche in reverse :D I'm just not a fan of big lazy V engines..... .... although its a vauxhall so it must be brilliant  The essex and cologne fords are pants too. The gsi3000 24v motor is nice if you want a big NA engine, guess I never was a fan of V engines :) -

Ok, fair enough. However Vr v RV8 - thats a fair comparison and the rover is still rubbish and the Vr is merely adequate compared to other NA engines....
