Well im after some more advice, seems to be a case of fix one things, brake another. I recently had the car in to have the rear bushes replaced which (touch wood) has resolved the rear camber issue I had, and has transferred the handling of the car. As the garage has had the rear beam off them were unable to save the rear brake pressure valve, they have fitted a new one along with new flexy hoses. My problem now is the brakes are pretty scary, before the pedal was firm from the top of its travel and reach max braking pressure by about half travel. Now the brakes don’t react until the pedal reaches about half travel and max pressure is reached near the floor. If you pump the pedal there is no change. I’ve also noticed there is a slight change to the clutch biting point, that too is a touch lower now. Does it sound like there is still trapped air, or will the system recover with some use?

bristolbaron, slightly off topic here, but how much does jewelers rouge cost? and where can i get some?

As much as i love Corrado's i understand the frustration with fixing and repairing them. I can only imagine that carrying out a conversion can push your sanity to the limits. So many times i've thought I should have bought a "sensible" car, but each time ive got back into the C life seems good again. As a daily driver the C for me is slowly beginning to loose its appeal. It sounds like the you've got plenty of opportunity to tweak and tinker with the MK4. As opposed to continuing the development of the C R32. I do have to hand it to you, its really impressive what you've achieved. Mk4 sounds like the best way to go, but see how you fell in the spring you might find you have renewed interest in the Corrado.

Got the same bulb on my desk, its a 12v 3w bullet bulb. This ones a Philips 12818. Havent been able to find one in any motoring outlet like Halfords. Wouldnt mind knowing where to get one.

Nice C lucky to find a good one out there. Spotted two G60's around Santander, both looked like they had been in a crash derby.

dodgy clunky noise at front end but its intermitent!!!

Counter weight on the drive shaft could be loose -
edd Taken a look over the rear tyres, both are beginning to show wear on the inside edge, only minor as they are relatively new tyres Thanks all appreciate the suggestions and advice, will get the garage to check over the bearings and bushes. Fingers crossed that will be the cause. Are there any easy checks that can be done to see if anything is sagging ?

Sorry for the later reply guys. It is a VR currently got 118k on it. Had the following replaced that could affect the suspension All springs + shocks (VAG) Rear disk + bearings Rear bumpstops Front Subframe + Wishbones Front Top Mounts Track Rod Ends Ball Joints Have considered getting the rear bushes changed, but that’s partly why i was after advice, to avoid spending cash unnecessarily. Could old bushes cause this problem?

Yeah i was pretty impressed, had it done with Merityre in Andover. Didnt charge for it either which was a welcome bouns.

Just had a tyre place check out my wheel aligment. They advised me that the rear is out with no means of correction, and as such that it would be best to get that sorted before paying to have anything adjusted. I've been given a print of all the figures. Any advice on how to correct the rear camber.

Few more specifics will help people advise, is it just not firing up?, stalling?
-
For the sake of an extra £30ish a side id get the Ball Joints and Track Rod Ends dones. As for the bearings i always get things replaced in pairs fronts, rears etc. If the rears arent groaning then id probably say leave those.

Thanks guys. Running on new standard Shock and Springs, on the old Speedlines. Looking at following masses and getting Koni's + HR's to leave the 4x4 look behind. kevhaywire, thats reassuring that even yours are different considering the level of perfection your C is reaching.

Need some advice, I have noticed that i have uneven ride heights, which coincides with odd handling characteristics. My C has always had a slight tendency to pull to the left, and the N/S front top plate sits higher than the O/S. As a last resort i have now started measuring the suspension heights to try and find the cause. Parked in my garage i measured from the lowest point on the alloy to the top of the arch. Probably not the best points but it revealed some interesting numbers. 57.5cm -- 58.8cm Low ------- High ¦FRONT--------¦ ¦----------REAR¦ High ------- Low 59cm -- 57.5cm Ive replaced all Shock + Springs VAG, Top Mounts, Wishbones + Subframe (Dont ask) Im running out of ideas now, all i can think it could be is odd Shock/Springs or worst case twisted chassis. Any ideas appreciated! Thanks.

Great :x will have to make a trip to the garage this evening, see what extortionate price its reached now.

Any got any pictures of a glass roof installed in a Rado ? I would mind one either.
-
Mine used to whistle, sounded slightly reminiscent of a turbo. I traced it to a leaky pipe on the ISV silencer.
-
Congrats on your new ride looks great, treat it well.

VR6 ECU reset procedure can be found in the Knowledge Base

It may well have been slightly inaccurate before but its well out now. It usual resting place while driving was 100'c before i foolishly took it all apart. Its now nearer 105'c and the fans dont kick in to roughly 110'c on the gauge. Only asking ifs its possible because im fussy like that. One of those things i wish id just left alone.
-
Recently i was experiencing problems with the temperature gauge sticking, I think its now resolved (touch wood). In my efforts to fix this i took out the temp / fuel pod from the cluster and took it apart. Since refitting it the temperature needle is reading about 5-8'c higher. Is there anyway to adjust / recalibrate the gauge at all ? Cheers
-
Yep ive had leaky fuel lines after my VR went in for engine work. Rubber perishes with ages and they dont seem to fond of being removed and reused either. I was charged £58 for pair of hoses and half hour at the garage to fit.

Cheers Henny, will take a look at that tomorrow evening.
