  1. That's harsh, cheer up though, it's Friday!!! :rainbowafro:
  2. I agree and can vouch for this!!
  3. LMAO - that's exactly the same as me man!
  4. good advice Kev, spot on. here's ianb's 9A with 202bhp
  5. I think it's fair to say, that for noticable everyday driving performance increase, the head/manifolds need porting/polishing. This liberates a lot in terms of torque as well, which I would say is more important than bhp for me. Look at Phil's sig, that'll do me nicely thanks :)
  6. tell me about it! I'll post the link to his plots up tonight.
  7. ianb off clubgti forums had 202bhp & 160lb ft from 9A block, TSR Pack A head, schrick cams and TSR manifold + a few bits n bobs.
  8. You can get something much newer than that for a grand - skoda anyone? from L reg onwards its pretty much all VAG, my Grandad swears by them and has done since his rapide in the 80's! Saw an '01 Fabia (SDI) for £2400 so felicias must be pennies! I'll defo be getting a fabia as my daily driver once I start my new job.
  9. Saw a green C with "Corrado PSI" badge on the back, twas at the Hayes roundabout just off the A40 out of London, I let you out in a red corsa - very clean example 8) (the C i mean lol)
  10. Well this is what I'm thinking, I want to get a flowed KR head on there anyway, should I just go the whole hog and get the bottom end rebuilt as well or are these relatively bullet proof?
  11. J17 TPT - just saw you in the traffic jam in Cardiff on West Grove, I was the chap walking along on the other side of the road gawping (was too scared to say hii )
  12. lol I type far too slowly, just spotted all the posts up there!! there was only two when i started typing
  13. When routing cables It is paramount that you separate power and signal wires. Ideally route them down different sides of the car. Most people mount the amp in the boot so there's minimal signal loss between it and the speaker, but there's no reason that you can't put it anywhere you want as long as you avoid any sources of power.
  14. holy crap - 170bhp from a 1.4 @ 40mpg ?!?! I'm with tim, where do I sign?
  15. isn't it nice to see someone actually achieve something?
  16. This is my predicament ATM. is it better to pay for an engien swap or a rebuilld? Here's a questino then. assuming the labour is carried out by yours truly. How much to rebuild the engine? and what parts are required? should keep us busy... EDIT - i meant a swap i.e. 150 pd or 18T
  17. Same. OT - Where's the Alan Partridge love gone SC?????
  18. I've had 7 years hassle free motoring from a £175 mk2 1.3, a £220 skoda and a £100 prelude - when they break I just buy another one. Insurance is tit all and any idiot can work on them. If you have the room, it's always worth having a clunker as a back up for the C EDIT - i think it may have been a primera actually, not a prelude
  19. Those dials look sweet! Where'dya get 'em from?
  20. I haven't spent too much on it really: Heater Matrix CV gaiters Radiator stat, leads, plugs, coolant Some interior bits Tyres Exhaust bits Steering rack MOT and labour take it up to about £800-1000 I would say. umm, not much else I suppose, bearing in mind that's its off the road in need of cam pulley, tensioner, belt, PAS pulley. Unfortunately I grossly overpaid for a car in this condition (quite poor) as I hadn't discovered this forum then. I reckon I'll need to spend another £2k to get it mint, but that's worth it to me. EDIT - TBH Though, I still don't whether I want it to bbe a mint, standard example or just go crazy with engine/dash conversions etc.
  21. Yup just about to become the proud owner of a free L reg Mk4 Escort with 60k :) C should be 4700 Bhp by christmas :-P
