Anyone made their own switchblade key with an OE immobiliser
saysomestuff replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
Sorry to dredge this thread up but it sounds like a pretty awesome little mod. Has anyone actually managed to get it working? I have the standard C blade machined into a three button flick key and was just thinking about butchering an autowatch fob (they are v.small) to get the internals in there. If I can just get a clifford alarm and programme the VW key to it, I'd be a very happy bunny! 8) -

LOL, I must say if the Corrado has one thing going for it, it's the sunny disposition it gives people when they are parts shopping with the insurance company's credit card  In fact even if it's your own money, it's nice to have an excuse  -

Blimey, how'd he manage that? The bumper seems fine, was it an overhanging wall or something? -

Oh, and back OT. I first saw a moonlight blue C in my local town (Westbury) in about '95 and vowed that one day I'd have one. Got mine from Bridgend last year and upon looking through the service history noticed that it was serviced at Oval in my town around '95. Possible that it was the actual C that made me want one, freaky! Then the first picture I looked at on the CCGB site was a picture of my car at a show with a previous owner (as B18 DUB - it's age related now) - It looks like it was just meant to be *sniff*

I think I got mine from Halfrauds

Agreed, but that kind makes the dremmel redundant, I'd like to learn the basics and have a crack, if I have no joy then I'll get someone else to do it. The C is a hobby for me so I want to do as much work myself as I can.

And take into account that the first drive in your new 'rado generally requires a liberal application of the right foot 8)

Hello there - welcome to ownership of the best engined C 8) ;)

So I can put a flowed/polished KR head (and cams) with 42mm inlet on my 9A for a ton of torque and bhp increase?

good luck with getting ur stuff back. It will still be on there somewhere. Speciallists can recover information from discs that have been cut to pieces, so you should find stuff after a format no worries. and  @ VR6! Quality -
Hey all, I have a dremmel with the 800,000 piece accessory set but I have no clue what the hell al the bits do. I wonder if anyone could be kind enough to explain which bits I would use in which order to mirror polish something. Even better, a mirror polishing how to covering the basics. Thanks.

The car was recalled on this, I doubt they'd sell the faulty unit any time after the fault was discovered
