  1. Long shutter and zoom during exposure After a bit of PS CS3 - the different colour adjustments you can make in B&W mode is incredible: And the colour version: Rear 3/4: Front:
  2. My love of cars, motorsport and photography have bought me start up my own business – see below ;-) I’ll be at Silverstone at the weekend taking lots of shots. I also recently went to the Farnborough airshow and got some great images. I’m really hankering after a Nikon D300 and a nice 300mm VR zoom now though – about £1300 worth of kit! One of my fav shots from Saturday:
  3. Inca blue's a gorgeous and rare colour. Oh well. You could make a Harlequin Corrado like those weird Mk 4 Polos!

Thanks chaps. The job I saw was on a second hand forecourt so I guess as long as the repair lasts until the car's been sold that's all that matters for them. :cowboy: I'll take it to the local coachworks. Got a few other touch ups and they do cash jobs for me which is quite handy
  5. My breaker bar is my best friend  Half inch. With some decent impact drive bits if you can afford them as they resist shattering if you're really tugging hard. :ignore: Also an angle grinder is good for a "final solution" to seized bolts. Those magnets in the end of car aerials are soo handy - one chap mentioned them above. Decent axle stands and a hydraulic jack which can accomodate extreme lowness. Anti-seize like copper slip is useful for re-assembly.
  6. That's more of a G60 foible
  7. The cat' is under the centre armrest which probably runs hotter than the rest of the exhuast. I've always found Corrado cabins to be hotter than other non-AC cars' cabins. It doesn't help with a big VR6 in the front either!
  8. I wasn't a fan of the ride quality with 17s. However if you're venturing on track you might like to think about bigger brakes so you'll need bigger wheels to fit the discs under. I'm sure this has been discussed a few times so you might want to have a bit of a search through previous topics :)
  9. I had this and ended up soldering the car's power and remote onto the hu's power as that was the only way I could store settings. Now the stereo works even without a key in the ingition!
  10. That's the slave cylinder and the replacements are plastic 8) It affects clutch feel more than brakes
  11. Thanks for the feedback. The V3's are certainly out of budget but perhaps the V1s would be within range. Any thoughts on bushes at all? Are the standard ones worth another look or is there another softer option than the poly's that's worth considering? The V1's are perfect for road use. I've had Koni TA's with Koni springs and FK Highsports and the KW V1's knock the socks off both of them.
  12. Probably because they'll last a season and then the suspension will be completely rebuilt - not practical for a road car. Furthermore, racing tracks tend to be smooth and free of potholes and sunken drain covers so bushes probably don't get much of a battering. My old G60 came with poly bushes and there was a lot of play in them. I junked them and replaced everything with OE and the car felt a lot sharper coupled with a touch of front-end laser alignment. Most of our cars are used on the road for 99% if not 100% of the time and I for one would certainly prefer comfort over outright performance on Uk roads.
  13. A previous enthusiast owner bought a replacement F.A.K and triangle so I'm fully equipped! There's even a receipt to prove it! :D
  14. Beautiful pics - particularly the night time shots 8) Hope you don't mind but I added you as a contact on flickr :)
  15. Luckily I had my DSLR - I was playing about with the settings when I had the car in full view but quickly put it on full Auto and snapped without even looking through the viewfinder as we drove past! It was a close one!
  16. I came back from a holiday in Antigua a few weeks ago :sunny: and whilst on a taxi drive we went past some kind of card yard and I managed to turn round at the last minute with my camera... Can you spot the Corrado!? It wasn't in the greatest of condition, boot lid up and very faded paintwork.
  17. I'd see if I could have a look at them prior to buying them. If they're in good nic then go for it.
  18. most daily driver VW's of this era seem to run happily on this as it's about the right weight for those engines in our climate (particularly the tappets), but I've noticed recently there are two 'Synta Silvers' one is the old VW spec synta silver 10/40 semi-synthetic and the other is labelled just 'Synta Silver' and is not of the (albeit outdated) VW spec, so be careful what you buy from shows etc... I used the semi-synthetic Silver for years for regular 6-7K changes, but it's harder to find now and especially for a sensible price for a not-very-special oil. JMR buys massive oil drums full of the stuff and apparently there have been big changes in the regional supply network and oil for my VR was well over £40! Looks like a much better option to go for some more modern fully synth stuff next time round.
  19. I've heard from an Audi technician that the early ones can have problems with the fancy suspension. Probably just something to read up on. They might have done a recall or it could have been fixed under warranty.
