I reckon you'd be fine with a K&N kit but find out first if the JR filters are dry or oiled. The K&N kit comes with oil which you wouldn't want to put on if the JR filter isn't designed to work with oil. Personally, if it's dry I'd use some of my bike cleaner and save the £ on a dedicated kit. It's only cotton.

Nice deep red - I assume it's seen some paint in its life to keep it looking that good. -
New car acquired! Still German but not VW...

Went over the car yesterday with some Swissol Onyx as it was a nice hot day - that wax seems to favour baking hot paintwork so it can properly cure before being polished off: -

I had the clutch slave cylinder replaced which helped slightly. However, it’s still an issue although I guess I’m learning to live with it and adapt. What I don’t want to do is spend a load more dosh on it and end up replacing the inner CV’s only to find the problem’s still there. It also needs new tyres soon, the ABS looking at and a knock sensor replacing. *sigh* I read your other post thought which did get me thinking about getting them replaced. I reckon I’m looking at £250 minimum with using GSF parts and a local guy I know.

The problem with Corrados is that they were never made in large volumes like the Mk2 and parts, in proportion to the amount of money you need to buy the car, are expensive. This means you get young people who can afford the cars but not the upkeep buying them and then they end up in the scrap yard for one reason or other. Those of us on this forum fuel the trend where nowadays you can invariably only buy minters or sh1443rs. We look after our cars and pore love and attention onto them where most non-enthusiasts will run them until they die. I went to see a certain G60 before getting the VR and it needed £2.5K spending on it to actually make it into a “nice” example. They also get “modded” by young people who don’t understand cars – hence probably why finding a decent G60 is almost impossible. All the good ones belong to the likes of us who will seldom sell and the rest have long since spat their G-Lader internals onto the road. I love mine – I never realised how nice they were to drive until I got back into one after having owned one years ago and then driven lots of other more modern cars in the interim. And you get so much attention – guys who had one as a company car or who wanted one but didn’t get one for one reason or another (often the wife). I’ve got a book of old magazine road tests and the Corrado is constantly pitched against the Ford Probe and the Celica and they both won dynamic praise believe it or not but the Corrado is on the only one which still turns heads – one of the articles even pointed to the Probe as being “futuristic” and a design which would age well. How wrong they were. I think there will always be a market for very nice Corrado’s. I bought my old G60 for £3500 and sold it for £4000. As with all older cars – all you need is time and money!

Thanking you :) I'm not expecting much in the way of bass from my head unit driven 6x4's but I'll try your suggestions first :salute:

I'm upgrading my rear 6x4s and I'll be using the OE speaker wiring. Is the brown/black wire the +ve or -ve? Cheers

HT leads - if it's not broke, should I fix it?

I'd do that too :) -

I've got a random allen key in the glovebox although to be fair I haven't checked it's the one with actually fits the sunroof  A week on and my sunroof still seems to be working

What parts to change to get the Corrado in top shape?

I’ve been looking into this too as I’m not going to have enough time this year to put my nice stereo kit in and I don’t want to butcher my nice original parcel shelf. I’m looking at these: JBL @ £35: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /2964.html Alpine at £35: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... d/509.html The Alpine have a lower nominal rating which would be better suited to head unit power in my opinion so I might go for them. However, I’ve always been impressed with cheap JBL speakers although my last set were driven with 120m RMS so I don’t know what they’d be like with h/u power. I know they won’t be the last word in quality but the OE speakers after 15 years can only reproduce a dull gargling fuzzing noise at the moment! EDIT: Just called Huets and managed to get me some £50 Orion speakers for £40 delivered :)

If you need someone in the Kent/East Sussex I can highly recommend Freeway in Tunbridge Wells. They only stock OE stuff but don't mind fitting and working on "performance" exhausts. They adjusted by crappy Powerflow system, stopped it banging on the rear beam and fitted new rubbers for £17. Top chaps and they're open all day Saturday too. :salute: http://www.freewayfastfit.co.uk/

Well it's certainly not the mech or the pulleys and cables because the sunroof miraculously started working on the way home today. My guess is a switch fault?
-
That's quite cheap actually!
-
Cheers Kev, I'll try that tonight. I'm hoping it's electrical. There wasn't a snap or ping when I tried it and realised it was broken. Now I realise why there's a random allen key in my glovebox from when I picked the car up.... :? Why did I buy another C? What's wrong with me?

*Sigh* My poxy sunroof has packed up :bad-words: It was replaced with a scrap one not long ago and the guy who had the car before me actually fitted a Passat switch to it as he said they were more reliable. Now it doesn't work. It doesn't half open, or try to open, it's just dead. I've checked the manual and the fuse for it is shared with the rear wiper circuit and that still works fine so it can't be the fuse. What should I check first as the last thing I want to to is get it stuck open as the car's kept outside? My wits end is approximately..........................here: :brickwall: Thanks in advance 8)
