    Sunday detail

Mark my words Kev, you're on the slope!
  3. It might also be worth mentioning that i've never had one with a broken sunroof or spoiler :smug:
  4. Absolutely agree with the monkey tbh, well said - the 16v really is the exact opposite of a sleeper! sort of like a sheep in wolves clothing  That's not to say that it cant be a really enjoyable car to own/drive though, pretty much everything else about the car is fantastic apart from the hengine, id still far rather own a valver than the vast majority of other cars ont he road whether they're faster or not
  5. It has to be said, i've had lots of Corrados (even more than Mr Cazza! ) of all flavours and have covered thousands of miles over 5-6 years in them and have never been let down once, I really dont view them as un-reliable cars as they've been fantastic to me. Allthough my priority has allways been reliablity over performance and that's where my money has been spent, i've still not spent masses in maintainance :smug: My theory with every car i've ever owned (and that's ALOT!) is look after it and it'll look after you :camp: Nice colour prelude, whats the interior like? I rememeber having a go in a J reg one and the dashboard was like something out of a spaceship compared to most other cars of the era! 8)
  6. Tallented guy!

    JMC's G60

Can you not have it mapped elsewhere?
  8. The fog lights?  Sorry if that sounds like a stupid comment  , but I assume you've checked they're plugged in OK?
  9. A PD Corrado is something i've wanted for years, but it's not an easy conversion and is certainly not a cheap option - I reckon to do it properly you'd be looking at around £3k-£4k, so going by your 1500 miles a year it would take a LONG time for the conversion to pay for itself and start saving you money :(
  10. I think they're about £15 from memory.
  11. Hmmm, one of the first things I allways do when buying a rado is check to see if that sticker is there, if it isnt then its a pretty good indication that the cars had a rear end shunt, which is probebly why he would like the sticker replaced :? I'd say its a good thing that they aren't available.
  12. LOL, so just to clarify again, I have a G60 with a massive crack in the windscreen - other than the crack I think it'll pass it's MOT, so if I remove the screen it'll pass without one?
  13. Yeah I think you still can
  14. Cheers. And what about the sidelight thing, must all cars have sidelights? if you remove the switches and cover the lights so they dont work you need nothing not even brake lights, you can take your windscreen out to then you dont need wipers or washers it might not be legal but it will pass a test Interesting  So from that I assume that you dont need a windscreen to pass an MOT?
  15. only one problem with this you only get one free retest and a test station does not even need to let you have one free retest they are entiled to charge you upto half the original test, if it fails a second time you will be into another full test , you can thank mot computerisation for this :salute: and fuel additives in petrol engines dont really do a lot , only diesels they have the desired effect. Good point about the re-test, allthough I have used fuel additives on a good few petrol engined vehicles in the past to get me through a re-test and it's worked every time.
  16. If it's only a little bit over it might be worth trying a bit of fuel additive to see if it passes?
  17. I cant say i've heard of any storms with CC fitted, only US G60's - it might be worth asking on VWvortex?
  18. 1. Buy the covers for them, I expect you'll be able to get them from the dealers, they're just plastic caps so shouldnt be pricey. 2. Not that I can think of 3. I expect the platic bits would clean up like new, the screws will be available. 4. Not that I can remember 5. Either re-locate it or cover is would be your options I suppose 6. The under-bonnet foam is a PIG to get off, you may be able to get rid of it with some Autoglym tar and glue remover or something, im sure a 'detailing' buff will advise you on whats best, it isn't needed but you will notice a difference in nise from the engine without it there. It can be replaced and there are quite a few options as to what you use, use the search. 7. Dunno but I certainly wouldnt be using a file on my leads! 8. I expect you'll be able to replace it, its just heat wrap as far as I know 9. LOL, should I have prawns or chicken with my stir fry? 10. Anything can be painted I suppose, it'll just be down to preparing the surface so that the paint sticks, again you'd be better off speaking to a paint expert about hows best to do it, I can imagine it would be difficult stuff to get paint to stick to properly.

    Aero Wipers.

Can you get some pics mate? or at least an artists impression? Sounds like it could be a cheap fix!
  20. Yeah I reckon that's had a massive effect - its a pretty small ammount of people that fall into the category of having enough disposable income to afford to run a Rado and also actually want to own a 13yr+ old car - most people that can afford high running costs want the newer cars on the market :( On the plus side, i'll be able to get myself a corker for very little money in a few years time at this rate
  21. You havent caused trouble mate, that's what the monkeys for   There's been quite a few threads on the 'CAT' issue so it might be worth having a look through them, the reason for locking the thread in the suppliers section was because of the legal issue of people naming certain garages that will be more leanient than others etc  i'm sure any garages named wouldnt be best pleased! :)
