Saw it an NR last week... still not low enough for me though... ;) Matth76, H&R stuff has a good rep, so I reckon you'll be fine...
-

 isn't the backing music a slowed-down take on "Crazy Train" though...?! -
Heheh, myself and scarlett are only renting but we wouldn't take anywhere that didn't have at least a drive! Eventually managed to get a place that has garage and just about enough driveway for two cars! Except that now the garage is full of junk, and I still have to park the VR round the corner cos the rat's on the drive...

Next to the headlight switch is a dial that adjusts the brightness of the dashboard lights... But you say the headlights dull too?

Steering rack issues solutions and swaps....

I'll second that... :) -
A lot of the Toyota 4-studs are, as are the BMW Minis... Just gotta watch out cos the centre bores are different, so you'd either need to get them machined out or fit spigot rings depending on whether it's smaller or larger. VW is 57.1mm btw. E30 4-stud BMWs are 4x100 too, and the correct centre bore...
-
Tbh, that's about right... :)
-
That's cos they're rare as hell in 5x100 9x16, brand new, and not made anywhere anymore... Neither are the 15s I believe, but in 4x100 7x15 they're a lot less rare... I wouldn't pay more than £250 in used condition with good tyres...

The problem is that if you have it on and it rains, the mineral deposits in the rain get trapped under the bra, then when it moves during driving it scratches the paint... they're fine for Cali, or if you take it off everytime it rains (which in this country gets a bit tedious!)
-
It'll scratch the paint Paul, don't do it... I have one on the 'rat and that's what's happened to it... not good... If you do fit one, get some of that clear protector sheet that bodyshops use and put that underneath it...

Any wire that has brown as its only or main colour is negative on VWs of this age iirc... :)

Other than the spring/shock kit - what else do I need?

Best thing to do will be to chat with The Phirm about it - but I know it'll be a good idea to put new top mounts and new bumpstops on... :) -
Oh yeah, it definitely doesn't need anything done to the suspension, bar renewing the bushes... but I do want it lower...! For anyone thinking of getting the KoniTA/H&R combo on their VR and is happy with a 35mm drop, do it - you will be amazed at the handling and ride quality... :)
-
Damnit! Ah well, beans on toast again then...

i sheared my locking nut key!what do i do??????????

chav - buy something?! see, that's the clever part... -
Cast iron... Wouldn't have thought a 1.4 Goof'd have an alloy block...?
-
very nice indeed mate, top work!
-
I hear you're getting the C back tomorrow - be good to hear if all is sorted... :)
-
Hmmm, well I have the classic KoniTA/H&R combo and the ride quality is lush, but the car's just not quite low enough... Am getting all the bushes done soon too (OEM all round), but am considering going to coilies... It's between the Konigsports, full-on Koni coilovers, or waiting and getting the H&R coilies... Really not willing to sacrifice ride quality when going lower!
-
damnit, is it repeated?!
-
Hmmm, looks like what I have on the RS's at the mo... Used the splined BMW locking bolts on the rat as the Borbets use straight taper bolts, and they've been fine...

Mate at work said he raced a dark blue VR in his RX8 near Aldershot at the weekend... Anyone? -
Don't modern synthetic and semi-synthetic oils have an optimum operating temperature though? In as much as they're designed to work best within a certain temp range, so surely if you cool the oil too much it'll not work as it's designed to...? oilman, where are you...?
