Engine looks like a monster, but I'm afraid I'm a fan of subtlety whan it comes to styling, and that certainly isn't! Fair play if it's what you like, and for the effort involved though...

Look sweet CC'd - do it, do it!

Keskin KT1s... The clue's in the filename! ;)

There's a guy on the forum who comes to No-Rice who has these on his dark green Rado - think his name's Marcus (in real life, not the forum!) - and they do look good...

Put my new mats in 'cos they arrived from Germany... But did it very slowly as I managed to tweak my back whilst working on the car yesterday, so that's going to be about the extent of what I can do for about the next three or four days till I regain any sort of mobility...! -
Can you buy anything that works anymore

The ignition switch on mine was replaced with a GSF one just before I bought it in Jan, and it failed about 6 weeks ago... Less than impressed. -
Well, both front tyres are brand new, and I had the wheels re-balanced - turns out one of the balancing weights had fallen off... The steering wheel wobble has now dramatically lessened but is still ever-so-slightly noticeable, so I'm gonna have a full laser-alignment done when I get paid and see if that helps any... As far as the wheels themselves go, they are the correct centre-bore for VWs, and I asked the guys who did the balancing to check if the wheels were out of shape at all, and they said that they were fine... Cheers for the suggestions so far!

I'm knowing that feeling... -
Well, after much cursing today (and it will continue tomorrow), I can confirm that the nut holding my oil cooler on was NOT 30mm, but 27mm... And it's leaking at the coolant outlets on the new cooler, so I'm gonna have to replace the spring-type hose clamps with worm-drive ones before I can report back as to whether the problem is solved... Damnit, I just want to enjoy my car, not p1ss about fixing it all the damn time...

Not always... Strange as it may seem, to some people there are more important things than making a quick buck...

Fitted new oil cooler (std) and Neuspeed stat - filled it up with coolant and discovered that the pipes on the GSF cooler are marginally smaller than those on the original one and it's leaking... Mind you, I suppose it's my fault for not fitting worm-drive hose clamps instead of the VW spring-type ones... Also discovered that the plastic coolant pipe junction at the front of the block is damaged and leaks now, so car is undriveable and I have to pull a sicky for work tomorrow so I can get it fixed... Swore copiously in the process and threatened her with being sold unless she behaves from now on... -
How's she looking with the susp kit on now mate?
-
It all depends on how much of a stretch you want - the 195/45s will be slightly stretched, but not too much I suspect. Personally I'm not a huge fan of stretch so I'd plump for the 205/45s or the 205/40s... Depends which is cheapest really, as they'll all fit!
-
What width are the wheels mate?
-
Yup, should be fine no problems!
-
Mine did that after getting water in the switch - try opening the switch and drying it out or something...
-
Nothing to do with stretch at all! The sidewall profile of a 185/55 tyre will be 55% of 185mm, which equals 101.75mm. The sidewall profile of a 195/55 tyre will be 55% of 195mm, which equals 107.25mm. Therefore, the 185/55 has a lower profile sidewall - simple!
-
Yup, they tyre's profile is expressed as a percentage of the tread width, so if you have two tyres with a 55-profile, but one is narrower tread width, then the profile will also be smaller... I'm sure I've mentioned this before somewhere...!
-
185/55 is the lower profile, as the 55 is a percentage of the tread width... Though 195/50 will be the same as 185/55 and cheaper I suspect...

Well, D-Day is tomorrow (Neuspeed stat needed a signature so had to get it from the sorting office, bah), so will let you all know what the outcome is!
-
2:1 water to coolant... I have been searching a bit and it seems like I need a 30mm socket to undo the securing nut for the cooler - can anyone confirm/deny this?
-
Really makes you want to carry a CO2 fire extinguisher, don't it... That sucks... One of my cars got stolen and torched, but at least I didn't have to see it... :(
-
Errrrr, anyone...?

Looks luuuuuuuush mate!
