  1. Lovely Golf! Welcome to the forum, good luck in your hunt... :)
  2. Its's where the rear suspension bushes compress under hard cornering and angle the wheels ever-so-slightly so as to aid cornering ability... I thought you lot all had my rear suspension and the MK2 Golf front - but that the VR's was different...?
  3. Cheapest mod I know of is to stick in the inlet cam from a 1.8 16V (KR) engine - it has higher lift and longer duration (valves open further and for longer :)) thus giving moe power... They can be picked up pretty cheaply too!
  4. Think that's the MK3 Golf 2.0 16V engine that's 150bhp... IIRC, both the 1.8 and 2.0 valvers were 136bhp, but the 2.0 has more torque due to the increased capacity... Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure!
  5. Usual temps for a valver seem to be around the 90deg mark for the coolant and 100-110deg for the oil - anything way off that and I'd start questioning why if I were you!
  6. Just seen on the news that Michelin have offered to refund ticket costs for all the fans at the US Grand Prix... Too little too late?
  7. How about some 2-way lovin' - that good enough for ya? Excuse the shoddy camera-phone-quality, but here's me and Laura (aka scarlett) giving Sen a double-dose of love!
  8. Actually, If you like Aim, then "Cold Water Music" is the album to go for - storm-nut, I highly recommend you get it as it's better than Hinterland... If yr diggin' the Aim vibe, check out some of the more laid-back stuff on Ninja Tune, like Funci Porcini and Bonobo, and DJ Shadow and UNKLE on Mo'Wax... Chilled-a-licious... Picked up a Ninja Tune compilation and Kid Koala's "Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs" in Brighton yesterday for only £14 for both cds! Bargainous!
  9. Nice Red G60 - G60 MTV (cool plate!) - in Guildford town centre yesterday, parked up at the back of Tunsgate...
  10. Errrr, yeah, kind of... Due to having to pull everything off the steering column to replace the switch (unlike 'rados), I decided I couldn't be arsed basically, and was just gonna put up with it as it was! It started getting worse though, so whilst changing my clocks, I took the steering column shroud off, placed a screwdriver against the ignition switch and gave it a damn good smack - and for some reason it's now working perfectly! :thumb right: Probably not much help to you though... ;)
  11. Close, but no cigar... ;) It's Indian Red Pearl - LC3T - same as on MK3 Golfs and Ventos... Bonnet's badly faded though, soon to be replaced with a black one as soon as I find a scrappy breaking a black Passat...
  12. Whichever way you prefer - at the end of the day, only your own opinion of your car matters!
  13. It ain't just the 'rados either - my Passat tilts but no slidey-goodness... :( And I've got twice as much trim to take off to get the headlining down to replace it, so not looking forward to that!
  14. Yup, I run a Neuspeed 180deg stat which keeps the coolant temp at around the 85degC instead of the usual 90-95degC. You can get 'em from AwesomeGTI. :)
  15. In traffic the temps should equalise as the oil exchanges its heat with the water (or at least, the oil temp should rise less than the water) - but I'd say that for the standard heat exchanger that's 10+ years old, those temps are absolutely fine... It's only when the oil starts going over 125-130 that you need to worry!
  16. I thought you ran ET43 on your RH's that were 8" wide, Kev?
  17. Ironically enough, I've always driven right to Brixton any time I've been to a show at the Academy and never had any problems with the car... That sucks though, little sh1ts... At least they didn't screwdriver the doors. I've had a car broken into in London and tbh I was quite glad that they smashed the window to get in rather than knackering the door...
  18. Very nice C, looks in lovely condition! Oh, and welcome to the forum!
  19. Welcome to the forum mate! I'm sure I would have met you on the RR day, but I'm useless with faces/names, so do forgive me for not remembering who you were!
  20. F1 will die a death in the US now at least, I reckon... It's also now officially the most complex "sport" in the world, rule-wise... Anyway, the only race worth watching now is the Monaco Grand Prix, and even that's just for the whole ambience of the thing rather than the "race" itself... And yes, those parentheses are required! ;)
  21. Quoted from this thread... "According to a report of a recent test case, it seems that, if your car is damaged by a third party in an accident and it is in danger of being written off by either party's insurer, against your wishes, you can sue the third party for the full cost of restoration to the pre-accident condition? This is irrespective of the cost of the repair or the market value of the car; you apparently have an absolute right to choose to have full restoration to the status quo ante (that is yer actual Latin for "what existed before") if you can prove liability."
  22. Ohhhhhhhh, you sooooooooo have to keep that on for a bit!
  23. If the accident's not your fault, don't you have the right to demand that your car be returned to its pre-accident condition? And that you can refuse to have it written-off?
