well, yeah, dependent on the offset of the wheels, of course... ;)

Replaced my sis's rear calipers yesterday - woohoo, handbrake works again! -
Will 17 inch 7.5 wheels with a 33 offset fit ok on my VR6?
gradeAfailure replied to Leonard's topic in Exterior
Yeah, but that is lo-ow! -
Body work restoration - Bare Metal Respray ????
gradeAfailure replied to stooby doo's topic in Exterior
Yeah, a full-on bare metal spray with the bodyshop doing all the prep would probably be in the £2500-£3000 range at least - if you want it done properly that is... ;) -
fit 9x16s at the back - that'll give you a proper wide look, no spacers needed... ;)

plus you'd miss that lovely 6-pot growl... there was a 1.8T Ibiza Cupra being revved a little at NR last night, and it just sounded a bit rough and harsh, not smooth like the VR... I say put a 24V in there and charge it!

 that particular issue has been discussed once or twice... ;)

question re. H&R adaptors - are they all helicoiled regardless of width? seem to remember hearing that the 25mm ones are helicoiled but the 20mm aren't?
-
Quick question for those who might know - if the likes of MJ retrim cloth doorcards in leather, do they remove the original glued-on covering, or just retrim over the top of it?
-
The sunroofs never fully seal anyway - mine didn't after fitting a brand new weatherseal - at worst you get a few drips coming in, but that's what the sunroof drain channels are for...

Leather Recaro Door Card Late to Early(the other way)
gradeAfailure replied to stevie_f_2004's topic in Interior
Your other problem is that LHD early cards will have a double-size window switch hole and mirrow switch hole in what is now the passenger door... -
Settle an argument please - Veyron ??
gradeAfailure replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
And it's turbocharged, so you have to take boost pressure into account - ie. if boost is 15psi/1bar, then that technically doubles the amount of air being drawn in... -
So how much paint would you need for say, three layers of basecoat on an entire car?

The thermostat on the VR is on the right of the inlet manifold iirc, and quite easy to get to. As for the fan switch, take the connector off the switch (it's halfway down on one side of the radiator) and bridge across the +ve and -ve terminals - if the fan runs, it's the switch; if not, check you have 12V at the connector. If you do, it's the fan; if you don't, then there's a wiring fault/fuse blown. The Canadian Corrado Club website has some engine bay shots of an SLC with the parts labelled I think... hope this helps!

ah right! not me - but mine has Sparco pedal extensions... ;)

Audi TT dash fit without serious chopping? I think Jay might have something to say on that matter... ;) The MK3 dash that wilkes fitted looks pretty good and he reckons it went in without too much grief...

that seems to be the consensus generally... just patience and having a good idea of what you're actually doing! Have heard of some stuff that PPG and DuPont do that allows you to blend in lacquer as well, so may have to track that down...

Seee, loads of the U.S. guys have a crack at spraying, but over here it's regarded as a black art...! gonna borrow me a compressor and a gun and have a go at a new wing for mine...
