Maltese crosses, whats the VW connection?
gradeAfailure replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
how can you possibly say that? if you think that then the nazis have succeeded in turning something that was once a religious symbol into one of hate. i say reclaim the cross and make it good again! -
 it is cropping up more than the old G60 vs. VR6 debate now...!
-
Okay, well I've never used them, but was just suggesting that genre of company as a possible alternative to a full-blown bodyshop - hell, just trying to save the guy some money! but whoever you use, i wouldn't let them near the car without seeing examples of their work anyway...
-
have to admit, i buy PVW to give me styling ideas and to see what trends are and so on, but i read EVO to actually read about cars...
-
I still say give someone like these guys a call - http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/ - they do paint repairs as well as paintless dent removal you know... Still, chin up, relatively minor damage anyway! Never a good thing but could be worse...
-
errr, if there's a sign saying that cars are left there at your own risk, then unfortunately i think your comeback is pretty limited... £250 though...?! just call your local Dentsmaster (or equivalent) company out to have a look at it - their technology is pretty advanced when it comes to spot repairs like that, and I'm betting they could sort it for less than £100...

their article on Abass' red Corrado kind of hacked me off as well - he said that everyone on here hates his car (apparently cos it's too low - right, cos Furks' isn't ), when in fact the biggest thing people had an issue with was the Ferrari badges - which, oh look, PVW conveniently chose not to mention... I just wish they'd get rid of all the "adult" adverts, cheapens the mag (any mag, in fact) to the level of Lax Bowels and all of that ilk... At least they feature other cars than MK2 Golfs... ;)

Maltese crosses, whats the VW connection?
gradeAfailure replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
but then again, the swastika was originally a holy symbol before the Nazis misappropriated it... unfortunately, no-one today knows of its correct symbolism... both the Maltese Cross and the Iron Cross were originally symbols of Christian Knights, not fascist dictatorships, so... -
get a 2.0 and put the 1.8 KR inlet cam in - 150+bhp for about £15... ;)

Answers =================== Trunk Release latch where is it? Should be a lock/button to the right of the licence plate on the trunk. Power Locks on all models? Yup, vacuum operated though. How do I clean the intercooler? Ooh, don't know that one. Recommend Type of Gas? Anything above 95RON, though 98RON and higher is preferable. Side Fender Lights Relay or Fuse? Ooh, don't know that one. Number [53] Relay? Ooh, don't know that one. How come my windows can not be opened at the same time(Power Windows) Factory design, stops the circuits being overloaded. How do you use the MFA and Rear Wipers? MFA is the button on the end of the RHS stalk, and the slider on the stalk. Rear wipers - push the RHS stalk towards the dash to start, and again to stop. Unpluged Wire Connection under charcoal canister? Ooh, don't know that one. Head lights does not have a bright light? Because the headlight circuit goes all the way up to the switch and back you get a voltage drop. Search on here for "headlight AND loom" :) -

Nope, sold to a local dub enthusiast that I know... heheh, she's in capable hands now!
-
...I've just waved bye to my first ever dub :( The car that brought me to this forum, inducted me into the world of dubs, and even acquired me the best girlfriend I could ever have asked for... Yup, Sen, my Passat, has just been collected by her new owner and driven off into the night... At least she's staying local, and I'll still get to see her around; and the new owner has promised to carry on what I started, which is comforting to know... :) Don't you just hate how attached we get to these big lumps of metal?!

Possible winner for funniest read of the month
gradeAfailure replied to randal's topic in General Car Chat
ahhh, superb - he's from around Guildford, so I may drive around til I see a bronze streak of lightning that is obviously his warp-speed Corsa, make a vain attempt to keep up with its mighty power in my damn-near-3L V6 coupe (he will probably have folded everything flat), follow him to his house, and worship at his almighty car tuning knowledge. alternatively i may just laugh a lot then go home. tool. -
Bumping this again to say another big cheers to Tim, Ian and Sam for helping out at zero-hour when my sis's C failed its MOT - should sail through the re-test now thanks to their efforts that were above and beyond the call of duty... And yes, it's not like taking your car to a garage, it's like popping over to a mate's so he can fix your car! The way customer service should be... Top Crew!
