  5. Tonight i drilled, tapped and fitted the 6 direct port nitrous injectors. Shame the pics aren't very good but are from my phone and too close so are blured Should be fun once fitted to the VR. Chris
  6. I'm nearly as old as God and i pay £717 Filly Comp but live near the drug dealers which is handy but puts up the premium. I have a deal with an insurance broker that offers people who buy cars from me at Japspeed.Ltd discount and he's beeten 90% of previous quotes people have had by hundreds usually. Can always pull strings if you want a quote and see how it goes. Chris
  7. Yes, me! If there is anything 'Specific' ie even not legal i can issue it as a 'Show Plate' and you are advised only to use it in that capacity but we all have plates at some time that as slightly adrift from the letter of the law! When you say 'German' plates are you on about the pressed metal ones or just the D logo on the side of the plate? Chris
  8. but that's half a ton over, Kev you must be wrong man! Chris
  9. Dynamat? Sound insulting foam? ...over 600 kg's ???
  10. Tell us about the oily bits that made to do it's stuff, i want to know about the nitrous, what kit, how it's metered, the amount etc Chris
  11. There was never anything wrong with it, he's just a fanny when it comes to his pride & joy Chris
  12. I'm sure you should sell both of them. There will be some folk that could put you up for a day or two so you can embroil yourself in some of the shows or move! The car thing, what i mean by sell both is you probably need a VR6 cos they don't really go wrong like the lesser models and i hammer mine and it's always happy, the most reliably car i've ever had not to mention the fastest with the vortech charger and nitrous too! Chris
  13. I liked #4 aswell but think #5 sums it up quite well  Sorry Mr. Wire  Chirs
  14. 1967 MGB GTS, It's the same age as me! Chris i thought it was you but you'd grows tables, or are those sideboards? Chris

  16. I fitted bonnet GolfIII gas INXX rams that people can't seem to manage to do Chris
  17. it's not normally too bad, the charged VR is in the region of 260-270bhp and the 100bhp nitrous will shove you down the road in 3rd without spin but i like to use it in 2nd and make a little bit spin cos it throws you down the road. No i don't have an LSD yet Chris
  18. This is good info: Minimum Specification Good Brand Min Spec DRY WET DRY WET DOT 3 205 Deg C 140 Deg C 220 Deg C 150 Deg C DOT 4 230 Deg C 155 Deg C 260 Deg C 170 Deg C DOT 5 260 Deg C 180 Deg C 270 Deg C 190 Deg C DOT 5.1 260 Deg C 180 Deg C 270 Deg C 190 Deg C Wet figures above show the drop in performance when the fluid has a certain water content (less than 3%). For example when DOT 5.1 is contaminated with 3% water (which is considered a lot) performs almost as well as basic DOT 3 in prime condition. The most important thing to do is regularly change your fluid - we suggest every three months but manufacturers suggest at least once every twelve months. After six months use a typical DOT 3 fluid may have had it's boiling point lowered from 205 degree's C to about 165 degree's C But he lets him self down just after that by trying to get us to believe that an optical device used for viewing objects far below the surface of water is used in his research  what i mean is that he uses the word 'hydroscopic' instead of the word he should have used 'hygroscopic' which does actually describe what he's trying to teach, break fluid readily absorbing moisture, as from the atmosphere. The dumbass! I wish i had a degree and was educated to such a level where i could explain things wrong and have people believe me, instead, i have to be right all the time and people still take no notice! Chris
  19. What about that purple meths looking synthetic fluid? Chris
  20. I'm gonna run mine at some time but gonna be scarey at the time with my legs like jelly and deciding when to make the nitrous come in, either at about 3700rpm where the charger makes a difference on the VR6 or lower to get the revs up til the charger kicks Chris
  21. OE are just not up to it these days, not for me anyway, what ever i did i still got fade and i tried a number of combinations as have others, you just need to get bigger discs up front, the 288mm ones are a great answer and readily available from golfs! Chris
  22. I'll second dinkies and henster on the braided hoses, got mine for £35 or was it £45 from some stall at Inters but there is a great difference, i had the std size discs and hoses but changes to S3 drilled discs and goodridge and even when i drive like a tw@t , and that's often, i have never had fade since! But that 5.1 is blood dear mind in't it! Chris
  23. Funny, i thought just the same thing! Chris
